FRITTERS. I am crazy for doughnuts and I will drive miles just to get the best when I get a craving. I've been to Randy's in Inglewood at 2 am in the morning, I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep. I've been to Donut Man in Glendora at the same un-Godly hour. And to think most of the time I don't even buy a full dozen because I can never finish them before they go stale. Yes, I admit I am a 'Nutaholic! I know about Donut Tree because my grandparents used to live on Vejar, a block away from the place. I remember I started coming to Donut Tree regularly not for the doughnuts but for the apple fritters! I've had their doughnuts and it doesn't hold up against the doughnuts from my doughnut watering holes. Yes, apple fritters! I still come to Donut Tree for the apple fritters. I've tried apple fritters from other doughnut places and Donut Tree still makes the best. They make them a bit flat, a little bit burnt on the edges and keep a little bit of the center mushy so you can still taste the apples. Other places think apple fritters should be made like a cake, wrong! I assure you, Donut Tree makes them right ... I have OCD when it comes to food, I've done the research. As for the service, still the same ... abrupt as usual. I don't expect anything more because it is a doughnut place for crying out loud. Well, at 2 in the morning, do I really want to talk doughnut talk with the doughnut server? Will I come back, well I have been coming back even though I really have no more connection to 'Nut (Walnut). I just wish when I pass by my late grandparents former home that I can still see them tending their front yard. read more

The owners are very nice people and their baked goods are very good with the exception of the banana nut muffins where they use peanuts instead of walnuts! The peanut flavor unfortunately overwhelms the other flavors. Daily Donuts must have the same supplier because their banana nut muffins share the same bizarre flavor! read more
