Best food in Naples! Best gelato and sorbet! Lemon is a perfect ending to such a delicious meal! Profiterole is delicious and can definitely shared between three people! The octopus is a must every visit! The beef tartar is amazing! The ravioli of veal osso bucco is one of my top two favorite meal items. If I can't fit in the ravioli, I always get an order to go! Warms up perfectly! My mom enjoyed the oysters! Fresh and perfect! The crab cake was delicious, but what was on top was the show stopper! The spaghetti and the sauce that accompanies the fresh blue crab cake should probably be it's own star! We had to get an extra order of just the spaghetti and it's sauce (lobster cappuccino- best sauce ever)...it's that good! The fried chicken sandwich is great! The Caesar salad by the table side is a nice touch! Everything has almost been absolutely perfect! Jump shrimp cocktail was perfect! The lollipop lamp scottadio was grilled and seasoned to perfection! The burrata whipped potatoes are worth breaking every carb rule you have! Fig flat bread is great! The only two things we have ever ordered from there that weren't absolutely perfect was the bistecca steak with red sauce, and some sort thing that had sausage. However, the latter item is gone. Thank goodness, because it made room for more delicious items. The staff is always top notch. Beautiful decor, and excellent service. I have been coming to this place many times for 2 years now and I was always happy with the quality of the food and the service. However, yesterday I did order takeout which was a big mistake. When I called, I was asked from which menu I wanted to order. Obviously, I said from the Takeout Menu which I had on the screen in front of me. It showed Rigatoni and Wedge salad for $13 each. When I received my order, I was charged $22 each. After calling them, I was told that their in house printed menu did not have the options for $13. The manager said she could not do anything about it. I have attached a screenshot to show the online menu which I ordered from. At least I would have expected a discount and an apology. Made reservations to finally try out Dorona. First impression was nice and spacious, clean and great ambiance. We got a high top table and was given bread and butter. The butter were shaped into tiny flowers. They were so cute. Our appetizer was a Classic Carpaccio. It would've been nice if it had a bit more flavor and more ingredients like the dry aged version. I got the Raviolis as one entree and the 5oz NY strip as another entree. Both were good. The NY strip was ok, not my favorite cut of meat but I was getting a different dish so I didn't want to get a bigger piece of meat and not be able to finish it. The mashed potatoes and roasted garlic was amazing. It really gave it great flavor. We ordered the prickly pear margarita and they were delicious! Wish I had ordered another. And the star of my whole experience there was the Ravioli with osso bucco! It was incredible and out of this world!!! Great portion size for the price and amazing flavor. We dined there last night and loved it! We were a party of four, each ordering something different, each very satisfied. One in our party did the less expensive chef's menu. I went another route, ordering half the menu. I loved the beef carpaccio, truly enjoyed the charcuterie, though I would've selected different cheeses, and my steak was incredible. I was lucky enough to be invited to the soft opening of Dorona on Monday night, and what a treat! The old TGI Fridays and Midtown Kitchen has been transformed into a beautiful space. The menu offers a nice selection of appetizers, charcuterie and cheeses, sandwiches, burgers, pastas, seafood and steak. We started with two cocktails, the barrel negroni and godfather, which were both made well. Loved the round ice cubes, it really helps with ensuring the cocktail doesn't become watered down. Complimentary bread was warm and there's olive oil and balsamic vinegar on the table. For appetizers we split the charred octopus and half dozen oysters. The oysters were fresh and a good size. The charred octopus was a bit too charred, overpowering the tender meat. This was the least favorite dish of the night. For our mains, we split the gnocchi and paella. The gnocchi is a MUST. GOOD LORD. This is probably one of the best, if not THE best gnocchi I've ever had. Light and airy potato dumplings paired with langoustines, parsley pesto and truffle. MUST GET. The paella was bold in flavor, and the seafood was cooked perfectly. But for some, it could be a tad on the salty side. We were too full for dessert, but the portions were quite large, so would be good to share with at least another person. Service was friendly. There's a few minor things to be hashed out (as is to be expected of a new restaurant, especially during a soft opening) but will be a great addition to the area. read more

Our waitress was very good and there was a small number of people because of the virus. The cake was cold and hard it was awful. And all they did was stick a dollar store candle in it. We were in Naples for the weekend visiting from Miami and "yelping" a place for dinner. We stumbled across Dorona, what a lovely surprise. There was four of us and everyone had a choice of what they wanted to eat. Pasta, steak and seafood. The menu was extensive. I must say that aside from the bone in filet mignon I had, the crabcake is probably one of the best I've ever had including the ones I've enjoyed in Boston Massachusetts. Received numerous emails and texts over several weeks about the spaghetti and meatball night (no interest) and prime rib night. Rarely eat PR but love it. So we went (5 friends) wa reservation. Sat down and within 5 minutes at 6:30 advised no prime rib. Sold out. Questioned how. Than recd answer that we could get but would take awhile. Fine. Ordered ceasar salad for 4. Oh my it's now table side prepared. Why????! This lovely kid painfully prepared the salad. Was good. But why not create in the kitchen. (We actually asked after seeing another tables nightmare). Went with it and thanked the young preparer. Doronas doesn't need to be pretentious. If you want to be 5 star or even 3, focus on good food, good service, and consistency. Keep it relaxed with good energy. Our evening and other patrons were disappointed. The absent manager received lots of feedback. He never acknowledged. He cleared plates and shook his head. Had high hopes for great steak and Italian specialties. Arrived on time and had to wait 15 minutes for our table. The entertainment was a Johnny Cash impersonator who was playing the songs faster than the original and too loud for a dining room. Had to yell to be heard by the person sitting immediately next to me. Ordered a medium rare NY Strip steak, an arugula salad, and the hassle back potato. The steak arrived charred and well done. Server couldn't hear the request for the potato, but quickly ran to the kitchen to grab one. The salad was delicious and so was the potato. The steak was grainy and decidedly dry and overcooked. For some reason, the server didn't believe me as the steak still had a little pink on the inside. She did her best under the circumstances. Tonight we can not say the same. The Arancini was off, no flavor. The French Onion soup was too salty. The Lollipop Lamb Scottadito was also too salty. My private duty client and I enjoyed lunch at Dorona yesterday. I'd actually give the restaurant 4 1/4 stars. The table Side Caesar (which is misspelled on your online menu) salad was probably THE BEST Caesar salad that I've ever had. The bucatini was good, but not quiiite as good as the pasta at Campiello, my favorite Italian restaurant in Naples. My family and I made reservations here for dinner on a Friday night for 7. We arrive a little early and we're invited to the bar while we waited. The bartender came to us immediately to take our drink orders and the drinks got to us before we even realized. We sat at the community table which was just as great as a regular table. There was plenty of space for my family of six. The octopus and calamari appetizer were OUTSTANDING as well as our dinner. The salmon dish and gnocchi dish were a favorite between the 6 of us. Out waitress, Ester, was so great to us. She's very personable and was such a huge reason we loved it here. She had us laughing nearly every time she came around to check on us. The manager came to us to make sure everything was okay which was was appreciated. The ambiance was as well. Seriously all around incredible service, food, and experience. We went last night with two friends who had been previously and enjoyed their visit, though they did forewarn that it was "a little pricey." I began with a Beefeater martini and specifically asked for "extra olives and ice on the side." The martini came with a lime! Unless it's a "lime drop martini" or something similar, who puts a lime as the garnish for a martini? We had been told that the "Table Side Caesar" was excellent, and that it was fun to watch the salad prepared. I've had Caesar Salads prepared table side elsewhere and it's always been a treat. While many restaurants do, in fact, prepare a Caesar Salad table side, Dorona is not one of them. At Dorona the salad is tossed table side, but not prepared there. The salad dressing, as the server admitted, was prepared in the kitchen. Thankfully, she admitted that there was no mayonnaise in the dressing and that a coddled egg was used. (Just search YouTube if you want to see what a truly "Table Side Caesar" experience is like; e.g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CVqYYmYSig). Anyway .. the finished product was fine, but not memorable, definitely not worth $12. My dining companions all opted for various burgers, but I decided to try one of the pastas, as this is an Italian restaurant. I opted for the Bucatini "Amatriciana." The menu itself puts "Amatriciana" in quotation marks, though I'm not sure why (unless it's because they use onion -- not in the classic recipe -- and pancetta instead of guanciale). The dish was good, flavorful, though not as "piccante" as I've had elsewhere. The portion, however, was quite small. It's what one would have expected for the pasta course of a traditional Italian meal; but significantly smaller than an entree sized portion common in American restaurants. And, because of its size, definitely not worth the $19.50 menu price. So ... all in all ... I give the restaurant two stars, mostly because it's significantly pricier than comparable restaurants in SWFL. Unless we have a particular reason for doing so, we likely will not be returning any time soon. read more

It is a modern Italian steakhouse, and they offer different cuts and origin of steak. I ordered the black Angus Grand Island ribeye 14 ounce medium rare. It was exactly how a medium rare ribeye should be... Warm and rich and tender on the inside with a nice char on the outside. I left highly satisfied and I highly recommend. I've been here several times now. I've only been for dinner and I can't wait to try lunch!! I've stuck to steaks for my visits since they are going with a modern Italian Steakhouse menu. I had the dry-aged New York strip and a small Filet Mignon. The filet was my favorite. I also get the Mashed Boursin Truffle Potatoes, it is amazing!! Super creamy and you just can't go wrong with truffles!! I had the Egg with black truffle salad dip as a starter and I loved it!! I could eat that everyday!! Red velvet cake is interesting with balsamic...it wasn't my favorite, but it wasn't horrible. Mo is the best server! Be sure to ask for him for the best service in Naples!! read more

3 stars on average because the food and our waiter was 5 star however the front desk staff and bar staff were 1 staff. We made a reservation for 6:45pm because of the reviews on yelp. I like to give new businesses a try because you often get to experience the vibe and 'extra' effort that is put in. Or something new that has been created! Unfortunately we waited ONE HOUR before we were seated even though we had a reservation, which is unprofessional and disgusting. A party of the same size was seated before us and even though I spoke to the front desk girl (blonde) three times she shrugged me off and told me the next table was going to be ours. So..ive been coming to Dorona for a while now..but tonights experience was way sub par..Waiter seemed a little distracted but was ok..drinks and wine were ok..but the problem was. My porterhouse which went from the only one left..to not available..to available...then it arrived ans was not cut as requested..but no big deal..the other 2 steaks were ok... but the porterhouse was not good at all ..full of sinew..when the male manager asked how everything was i told him and he apologized and said he would adjust the bil...well..he did..he took half the price of the steak..which was in my opinion very classless..either remove the item all together being it ruined my dinner..but i guess his greed wouldn't let him....not sure if that was the correct thing to do... i have never seen anyone charge you a reduced price for a bad entree..... read more
