Lovely diner style restaurant in a row of businesses. Friendly staff and owner and a good menu. I was very happy with meal and service.

Stopped in for breakfast waiting on a car inspection. Food was good...if a bit cold. My pet peeve is underdone toast, but the eggs were already on the "toast" so I couldn't send it back. Friendly service, good atmosphere and price is reasonable. read more

I was in the neighborhood on business and we stopped here for a quick bite to eat. It's nothing fancy, but if I worked in the area I think this would be one of my "regular" stops. I can't speak to most of the menu, but the Cheeseburger was good. It wasn't anything to write home about and I don't think anyone is coming here to find the "Best Burger in NY" but it's not bad. Also, my friend said the BLT was good, but they expected more bacon on the sandwich. I agree with Lex, the curly fries made all of us happy. read more

Went to this place with a friend recently. It's normal diner fare. She got a veggie burger; I got a regular burger with cheese and guacamole (it was supposed to be some kind of Tex/Mex thing). She wasn't wild about hers, and my burger was kind of tough; but it was good enough for what it was, and it was cheap. The guacamole wasn't great, but hey, it's a diner. And they have CURLY FRIES! Now that made me happy. I enjoyed those a lot. It's also open 24 hours. Watch out, Coach Diner...you and CVS are no longer the only things open 24/7 in good ol' WP! read more

This place was so unwelcoming from the moment me and my family came inside. xperience. Me and my family went today at around 10:30. This older women with glasses worked there and she was sooo rude. She was very rude about getting us a table. Once we walked in she said "can I help you"very abruptly and aggressive. We said we needed a table and she rudely said here you could sit. We waited 20-25 mins for a simple breakfast. People who work there make the e It's not what you say but how you say it. It wasn't only us she was speaking to in this manner but also the table next to us a 2 young females. She said do you want coffee the lady said no then she said "so what do you want to drink!" Dorry's gets the job done. I go there a lot because I work very close by. I think my favorite meal has been the Chicken Delight with curly fries. Sometimes the service is eh, but the food is decent. We've ordered takeout from here, too, and it's fast. They have a diverse menu with many different options. Our lunches always fall late so I can't speak for how it is during peak hours, but, overall a decent spot if you can't decide what to eat for lunch and want a variety. read more

Only experience I've had with Dorry's Diner was take out. I ordered the chili burger deluxe with chili on the side, as well as the chicken noodle soup. The burger was very basic and not well put together. Not sure why they asked me how I would like it cooked because the patty was thin where it doesn't seem like it could be cooked rare or anything more. The soup was also basic but I guess you get what you pay for. This is a basic diner with nothing super special about it. read more

This place sucks. I walk in, no greeting at all! and nobody was there, place was empty (few ppl came in after me), i pay and owner never says thank you , or enjoy the food, nothing! she is too busy complaining to another customer about something. AND i find out later, they messed up the order NEVER again will i give my hard earned money to that place. I first went to Dorry's to join an OPEN group of folks (Tuesdays at Dorry's - 5:30 to 7 p.m.) from the area to hear talks on a wide variety of subjects, and recently, music every 3rd Tuesday and one Saturday a month. Dorry and the staff are wonderful to us, and the food is, as reviewed above, simple and satisfying. The onion rings are quite good. There are often Caribbean Specials that many of us enjoy. Some evenings it's just a salad for me. It depends on how my day went and when I last ate. Service is good, and cheerful. I'm giving Dorry's 5 stars for the overall experience I have there - the food, the group I go with (and others are very welcome), the staff, and the service. read more

I had pancakes that I had to cut with a sharp knife. I would not go there for pancakes it seemed like the batter just had more added to it every day Instead of being made fresh. They just have to be a little more careful and caring about what they serve. I would like them to be successful. read more

Way better than Coach! I've recently moved here and I'm not too sure of where to go for breakfast yet but this place may be in my rotation! :) I got the veggie omelette with no tomatoes.. it came out with tomatoes but my waitress quickly took it away and replaced it. Love the curly fries :) Attentive waitress for the most part, just wasn't thrilled my food came out wrong! My boyfriend got an egg wrap with bacon and thoroughly enjoyed it. read more

I like this diner for the food they serve but I was not impressed by their service the last time I was there. It was on a Sunday and the order was taken by a female owner/waitress and she was good. But then there was a tall male who did not care much about customer service. He literally just grabbed the empty plate from right under my wife without even her knowing that her plate was removed. I agree that the plate was empty but it doesn't mean that she was done. When we asked him about this the next time he came to our table , he was saying that this was the norm and he just removes the plate as soon as it is empty and does not ask if it could be removed. I totally don't think that is how it should be. I also noticed that other patrons of the restaurant was also not impressed with him. I hope the owners take a not of this. I like this diner but this incident has made me a bit hesitant to go back. read more

Very comfy, great atmosphere, seems like a very locals-friendly place. The breakfast was very good; definitely better than Coach. The potatoes especially, were awesome. I have to say I was disappointed by the service, though. It was certainly friendly, just inattentive. The place wasn't very crowded, but we didn't get offered a single coffee refill, waited to order then waited for waitress to reappear to ask for bill. Could have been an off day, or we weren't visible enough, or...anyway. We'll be back! read more

This is my first ever review. I joined Yelp because I felt the need to address a review written today by Colette H. My gentleman friend and I have been eating breakfast at Dorry's Diner together every Saturday and Sunday morning for almost three years (he eats there alone during the week and for many years before I joined him). Today we arrived unusually late (1:45 pm or thereabouts). When we walked in, the owner and staff exclaimed that they were worried about us. They thought that something had happened to us because we were so late. We REALLY overslept today. We were immediately served coffee, which is standard procedure here. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to us, a young lady had been waiting before us to place her order. When we got our coffee, she understandably was upset and left, saying she would post a review. I wish she would have stayed and explained to Dorry, the owner, what had happened. I'm sure Dorry would have made it up to her. I feel terrible that we got coffee before she had even placed her order, but am sure it was an oversight on the part of the waitress, who genuinely felt bad about the situation. The reason we love Dorry's is because it's a place like Cheers! (A real-life establishment featured in a TV sitcom whose theme song stated: "You wanna go where everybody knows your name..."). Two years ago my friend fell and hit his head on stairs and was seriously hurt. Dorry and Luki (spelling?) knew about it, but we couldn't go to Dorry's for breakfast for about two months. That's why they worry about us. In fact, we're supposed to let Dorry know if we're "not" coming! There are a whole host of regulars who go there, and we feel like family and we worry about each other if someone's missing for awhile. I urge Colette to come back. Tell Dorry and/or the waitress you were forgotten. I know they didn't mean for that to happen. Really. I know I'm just an old lady, but things happen and most owners and servers really do care. Dorys was. Great diner. I go there 3 or 4 times a year and I loved it. However this morning it was horrible. Started with bad service the my omelet was undercooked I had raw eggs and my daughter had soft undercooked pancakes. No once did anyone come over and ask how things were or even to top off my coffee. And if all that was not bad enough when I tried to pay the woman at the register was too busy talking to another woman I had to wait 5 minutes holding the bill and my credit card waiting for her to finish her gossiping. I walked in to a chorus of "hello!" from the group of gentleman at the bar-retired, somewhat raucous old men enjoying their early Saturday morning having coffee and breakfast and joking with the waitress. It struck me immediately, as an out of towner, as a charming hometown kind of place-just the atmosphere one would want from a diner. The waitress even knew several people who came in after me, asking them if they want "the usual." I had a really great meal of scrambled eggs and peanut butter banana French toast-they were very rich, but delicious-and the usual watery diner coffee. It was served quickly-within just a few minutes of ordering. I loved all of it. I'd go back in a heartbeat, honestly, if only to be so enthusiastically greeted by such pleasant individuals as I came in. read more

I have passed by this diner hundreds of times but never thought to try it. Yelp changed that. We had breakfast there yesterday. The food is delicious, the service is friendly and the price is reasonable. We we happy that we found Dorry's and we'll be back. Bonus- there is a parking lot behind the restaurant. read more

Food was mediocre. The first sign was when I asked if the corn beef hash was made in house, and the response was no. My husband's omelette was severely overcooked, dry and hard. I ordered an English muffin with soft scrambled eggs and bacon but the eggs came out fried hard . They quickly remade the dish. When they remade it, they must have RETOASTED the English muffin because it was hard as a rock. Then again, it may have been stale to begin with. I asked for grapefruit juice assuming it would be fresh (my bad for assuming), but it was Tropicana. Unfortunately, as much as I love to support family-owned mom-and-pop establishments, I will not return and I can not recommend. read more

I went to Dorry's with my family for Sunday breakfast. All started out ok, but after taking our order the waitresses sat down and basically ignored us. They were annoyed that we had to ask a second time for sugar for the coffee and basically gave us attitude any time we asked for something after our initial order. My 8 year old ordered a bagel with cream cheese and they brought one with butter, and after we sent it back and asked for one with cream cheese they practically threw it at him when they came back. To top it off, when we got the bill I noticed the price was way high - I asked and they claimed that there was "gratuity added for parties of 5 or more" - I'm fairly certain that this is illegal, as gratuities are not mandatory, unless you have a really large party. Even after allowing for that the bill was still almost 20% too high - they just added things on and tried to get it past us. There are too many better diners in the area - don't waste your time for mediocre food served with an attitude. read more

I don't understand the previous reviews... this place is family friendly food is always delicious and yummy. The service is always accompanied with a smile and great conversation. I am a nanny everytime I take my little ones their the owner is super friendly and understanding that kids will be kids.
