The food was okay. I had the Carne asada with shrimp. The steak was not as flavorful as I would have liked and it was very well done. It was pretty tough. The shrimp were good, nice and tender. The service was wonderful, they are very attentive and friendly. We were really surprised at the prices, a bit high considering. We ordered the horchata, it was not good. The service and salsa were very good, but the food was underwhelming. I had the relleno, cheese enchilada, taco combo. The enchilada sauce had no flavor and the refried beans had an odd metal flavor. My husband had the combo fajita and it came out on a regular plate looking more like the meats and veggies were stewed and also very little flavor. read more

Most people when writing reviews for restaurants only consider the quality of food, unless it takes a long time to get the food, or the staff is unfriendly. As far as the food goes, the chimichanga was a little bit bland, but made for an incredible meal with the flavor of guacamole, and irresistible salsa. Normally I would give this place 5-stars hands down. The margaritas are amazing as always. I tired something different tonight. I had the shrimp enchiladas with Alfredo sauce. It was a nice change up from the normal burrito. The only negative thing I have to say about this fish is that the Alfredo sauce was a little strong for my taste. My family moved here 2 years ago after growing up in Southern Ca and we are always on the lookout for good Mexican food. My family and I came here on a Saturday night and we were asked to seat ourselves. Shortly after we sat down we were promptly served chips and salsa and waters. And the server greeted us. Our food came out to our table so quickly I couldn't believe It! Our server was very friendly and was constantly keeping our water glasses full and asking how we were doing. Very attentive! The food came in pretty big portions and tasted good too. Very reasonable prices. It is a pretty unassuming location and atmosphere but our experience here was great! I even commented to my husband after we left that it was one of the best experiences we've had a a restaurant in a long time. Service,promptness and value was all great. We went to Dos Amigos last night for dinner. Loved the chips and salsa! You could tell it was homemade. "the salsa." I had the street tacos with beans and rice. The food was kind of bland no seasoning. My husband had the Dos Amigos burrito, it was huge. 'He had it with pork, didn't care for the pork all that much though.' The service was great! Loved the waitress. She was very sweet. The place was clean. Coming from New Mexico and funny to say, Illinois where we had great Mexican food. This was okay, maybe a bit better than some of the other places we tried around the Spokane area this is probably as good as it's going to get sadly just not really good Mexican food in the Northwest. read more

My husband found this restuarant on Yelp and we thought it was very good. Our waitress was prompt and friendly. We order their margarite on the rocks with salt, large drink that hit the spot. For our entrees - husband order one of their burrito's with chicken. I had one of their specials, three pork street tacos w/beans & rice - $9.95. Both entrees consisted of good food and large portions. We both had to take the balance of our meal home. Great place for the family. Free chips and salsa with every meal and the salsa is wonderful. This is one of my family favorites and it's locally owned as well. Traveling across the country, the wife and I have stopped at a few Mexican joints for a fix, but none have quite satisfied that fix like Dos Amigos in Spokane Valley. The carne asada burrito was out of this world (though I would lighten up just a touch on the cilantro), and my lady's three taco plate was superb; the corn tortillas were house fried, and the addition of the spicy house salsa made a great taco a superb one. Trust us, don't pass this place up when driving through. Great prices and really good service. Wish there were more of these types of places where we live. A hidden gem! read more

Service was fast and friendly. BUT--- food has absolutely NO flavor. Shedded beef enchiladas had no flavor. The meat tasted boiled. Rice no flavor. Beans tasted like beans. 2 types of salsa. Mild one tasted like onions and nothing else. Hot one has some kick to it but not much flavor. Big disappointment since we were told it is one of the best places in Spokane. It was clean, it was fast, it was delicious! Plus the server was great and you get dessert for free at the end. Dos Amigos can now call itself Tres Amigos now, as far as I'm concerned. I will be a regular for sure. I think it's the best kept secret in the valley because it never seems busy. We ate two meals, I got a side of guacamole, and the hubby had a corona for only 23 bucks. And, maybe I'm just imaging it, but I swear the water even tasted better there...... My only qualm is that they didn't line the chip basket.....the chips were just right in there with no liner. Dos Amigos is one of my favorite restaurants, and a place that I had been going for literally over half of my life before I moved away. The food is amazing, the people are amazing, and the prices are great. I had been in there literally dozens of times, and tried most of their menu, and was never disappointed. The tacos they have are fantastic, and probably my favorite thing, although you can't go wrong with the California Burrito (or any other burrito for that matter). The salsa was awesome, especially the hot (it's not that hot, but super tasty). They have several TV's that are usually on ESPN, and a solid drink selection, but still maintain an atmosphere that is great for the family as well. We used to love this place. Fast friendly service with a smile. When we went there over 6 months ago we were given $10 less of our change....thought well it is busy ad probally an honest mistake. Talked my husband into going there tonight and the menu prices were raised a little bit,from what i remember anyways. They started to get busy and so we checked out. When receiving the change the cashier set the money on the counter and walked off. Given our past experience we counted the money right there,and YEP MONEY was missing....$5 this time. Walked in, sat down and was served within 8 minutes. We waited longer for water, chips and trying to figure out what to order off of the 50+ item menu, than what we waited for our food. When the waitress brought out the first plate, I knew that my dinner was going to be served fresh from the microwave in the back. I ordered the Carne Asada Plate. The steak was dryer than shoe leather with about the same toughness. The meat tasted of nothing but lime juice. It was so bad I sent it back to have it removed from my bill. I also ordered a beer to go with my meal and never did receive it either. We never received any more water or even had the waitress come over we called her. All we got were excuses on why our service was extremely poor and our meal was even worse due to 2 big parties; even though, our order was placed first and served first. Once I got home I tasted my son's chicken burrito, after a few forks of just the meat, I realized that what I was tasting was tuna. HUH TUNA, in a chicken burrito? I could not rate this place any lower than what I could. I would have given them a giant ZERO, and I would not recommend this place to even feed my dog, let alone my family. read more

I'm really confused on the reviews. I went here last night excited to try it out because of these reviews. The rice was good as was the hot homeade salsa, however everything else was extremely disappointing. I got a margarita and I couldn't drink it due to it being all syrup. If I would have known it was going to be store bought margarita mix with a splash of tequila then I would've opted out. My fiance got a carne asada burrito, it was nearly $11 and filled with mainly rice and beans. It also came with more rice and beans on the side, I'm not sure where the steak part went though. I ordered a chile relleno and the bottom was burnt egg, the middle was an eggy pancake, and on top was an odd gravy. It was pretty terrible. I'm from Yakima and was raised on authentic, delicious, and reasonably priced Mexican food. None of that is going on here. Way over priced and they skimp put on the more expensive ingredients like protein, dairy, and vegetables. If you want to pay $12+ per person for a whole lot of rice and beans, this is your place! read more

The customer service was poor. We had to sit by the bathroom and you could smell the stale old smell of the bathroom at our table. There was a piece of food stuck to the wall we were facing. We were never asked if we would like anything to drink besides the water. The pros were that he serves 3 different salsas with the complimentary chips. I personally would never go again. read more

I have been trying to find some good authentic mexican food that serves REAL Carne Asada, not the crap other so called mexican food places serve around spokane which is NOT carne asada!
