We placed an order for 40 people for chicken tacos, rice and beans. They delivered right on time and with a generous amount of serving spoons. It came with a HUGE bag of chips, the hugest salsa I've ever seen, pico, lettuce, cheese, beans, rice, tortillas and chicken. All the side arrived hot and a very generous amount.... Expect for the chicken. We barely had enough for 40 people and I felt like it was a small tray for 40 people. I also didn't really like the tortillas... by the time people ate, all the tortillas got stuck together. I did really enjoy the flavor of the chicken. But people overall enjoyed it , I just don't know if I would get it catered again.

I've eaten here ( Davis location) for 25+ years. Thus I've already written a bunch about the regular menu. So today's review is about the new seasonal spinach and asparagus quesadilla. It's delicious! I added the grilled shrimp for $3 extra and was very happy with the amount of shrimp they added. The dipping sauce was nice and tangy and a little spicy. Overall it had great flavor and I really liked it. Was surprised the amount of asparagus wasn't significant, but maybe that's cause I added shrimp? Anyway very yummy and a nice seasonal addition. Arugulas side salad was also well dressed and a nice accompaniment.

Beautiful out door patio along the bike trail!

Have you had your DOS today? I love the Dos Coyotes Border Cafès! Because there is no Dos Coyotes near me in El Dorado Hills, I try to hit one up whenever I am out and about in an area where one is located. There are nine locations. Two in Davis, 3 in Sacramento, 1 in Elk Grove, 1 in Roseville, 1 in Citrus Heights, and 1 in Folsom. Each restaurant serves the same delicious South Western food, provides an engaging atmosphere, and offers exceptional value. That includes over-the-top customer service, too! Consistency is definitely the mantra. Something many chains are not able to pull off. Today, I am at the Folsom Dos! And "hangry" to say the least. Walking in, I am happy to see Eric one of the cool employees I have run into at the Citrus Heights location. He is so pleasant and ready to take your counter order with a great big smile. Thanks, Eric! After ordering, I stroll to the outside patio in the back. It is beautiful, peaceful, and overlooks a bicycle path that is so lovely. This is probably my favorite of all the locations. The menu items are all bomb. Specials are offered at each location. Right now they include: Frito Pie, Grilled Shrimp Grain Bowl with Strawberry Salsa, Sizzling Fajitas - Grilled Vegetables, the 505 Chili-Cheese Burrito, Sizzling Fajitas - Garlic/Chile Shrimp, Sizzling Fajitas - Traditional Tex-Mex, Green Chile Stew, an Hank's Cubano. Whew! The run down for each of these specials would be impossible to include. But I can assure you, the menu descriptions sound mouth watering. I love that the farm-to-table movement is supported and celebrated at each location, resulting in the best food from the freshest ingredients! Bobby Coyote (yep...that is his name) states in his bio that Dos Coyotes is the result of two major inspirations. His love of Santa Fe and his childhood in Los Angeles. In LA, he ate some of the best, authentic Mexican food. A trip to Santa Fe introduced him to creating fusions and hybrids with other cultures that came to define "Southwestern Cuisine." Delicious!!! Sustainability efforts are supported and listed on their website t. Community involvement is a part of the culture, and ways to engage with the business are made available on the website. All I can say is the food totally rocks at each and every Dos Coyotes Border Café. There is something for everybody! Adult beverages. I LOVE the Hornitos Margaritas! Kid drinks and menu. Clean, organized, and the lines move quickly. These employees are on it! I have never had a problem parking at any of the restaurants. This is a very special chain of cafès and we are sooooooo lucky to have them in our region. Welp, I certainly had my DOS today! Have you had yours? :-)

If you're looking for authentic Mexican food - this ain't the place for you. What you get though is a Tex-mex/ New Mexico or Arizona style- mex style fresh meal. I ordered the green enchilada plate with chicken enchiladas and the bf got one of the Spring specials- Hank's cubano. The enchiladas were great and flavorful - the sauce had a sweet tanginess to it - similar to one of the green tomatillo salsas from the salsa bar. It also came with choice of beans and rice and chips. Hank's cubano is a spin on a cuban sandwich- its actually not on bread at all but rather a tortilla and it comes with an amazing housemade mustard dipping sauce. That definitely sold me. I had to steal one of the pieces off my bf's plate ;P. The color, decor, and vibe is so fun with vibrant colors and cute sculptures and statues. It's a casual place and you just go up to the counter to order and they give you a number and you choose a seat and they bring the food out to your table. Service was great and quick. They have lots of fun drinks by the can/bottle displayed nicely and even alcohol options. They also have fountain drinks. Their Salsa bar is also quite the display with many mild to spicy options. We tried a few different ones (see photo). I think the fact that my boyfriend loves this place and he gave me the background on it and how to prep for it really made it the 5 star for me. Thank you for this experience Dos Coyotes!

We went on Tuesday night to get a take away for dinner. The parking was full so I had to circle once to get a spot. The restaurant was quite busy but the line moved quickly. We got our order within 10 mins of ordering. - Kids chicken burrito: my kid said it was good but the portion was so small that he was still hungry - Ranchero burrito a la carte with chicken: good portion with loads of delicious sauce and melting cheese. The burrito itself was delicious and flavorful. - Tortilla chips: fresh, crispy & delicious! Tips: There is a self-serve salsa with different spiciness. Get the sweet & mild salsa! It was DELICIOUS!!! The spicy pico de gallo was good & fresh too.

I was surprised to see that Owner is super cool and gave us a dessert to try out and walked us through the menu. We've eaten in the restaurant more than we've had takeout and can recommend for either direction your night wants to go! Onto the food: Chips and Salsa - Typical crunchy corn chips with a good portion of salt sticking to each one. Very good like any solid taqueria would have. Habanero Sauce - 9 - Tasty but wow will this one get you. It's hot! So much good flavor though...it's to die for. Jalapeño Cream Sauce - 10 - Something I've never seen before but is so delicious. Creamy with tremendous Jalapeno flavor with a kick. Destination salsa!!! Guacamole Sauce - 6 - Lacking in lime flavor, watered down avocado Sinaloa Sauce - 8 - fresh tomato forward but excellent spices on the finish. Rice 7 - Good but run of the mill Beans - 10 - Best refried beans you can get...seriously! Quesabirria - 9 - Juicy and flavorful. I need to try with hot sauce, cilantro, onions and lime to compare with the best in the business in Chula Vista La Fogata Burrito - 7 - It's a lot to eat but very one note in flavor. I was hoping for more pizazz Carne Asada Super Burrito - 10 - Juicy and tasty, hit damn it's good! Shredded Chicken enchilada with green sauce - 10 - Tender and juicy chicken along with perfectly bittersweet green sauce. Birria Enchilada with red sauce - 8 - Juicy meat but salty when combined with the red sauce. Good flavor though! Chile Relleno Plate - 10 - The fresh tomato sauce was perfect, the crunch on the chile was perfect, the cheese was perfect. Eat it right away to preserve the crunch! Taco Plate (Pollo Asada, Carnitas, Al Pastor) - Carne Asada - 7 - I ordered chicken but this was flavorful albeit dry Carnitas - 6 - No crisp and a bit lacking in flavor Al Pastor - 9 - Very flavorful but has a greasiness to it . I don't recommend ordering in a burrito because it may be overwhelming. Flan - 8 - Creamy and tasty, a tad sweet This place is fantastic. There are several items we've tried that have become our favorites among the local taquerias. Friendly staff, very high quality takeout Mexican at a good price. This place can't be beat!

We were meeting a friend and they had gotten a table for us before we arrived, but it wasn't busy and there were plenty of tables available. We're glad we had a chance to try Cantina Pedregal before it changes into Nixtaco- although now having been to both you're going to have delicious food either way. The restaurant is beautiful and whoever did the interior design was so thoughtful with the furniture, colors and ambiance. It's very warm, welcoming and calming inside. A great date spot or place for a meeting. The lunch menu has a good variety of options, and is broken down into smaller bites/appetizers, salads, main plates, and then sides. It's a nice spot to share dishes so you can try more items and share the sides. We ended up getting the chips and salsa ($7) with an extra salsa ($4), Grilled Black Half Chicken ($23), and Fideo Seco ($14). Our friend got the Carne Asada Tacos ($24), Refried Beans ($12), and Red Rice ($10). The sides were shareable and needed, since the entrees came on their own. Our friend added some of the beans, rice and Fideo Seco on their tacos and our chicken did come with some tortillas to make our own tacos or eat on it's own. Everything was high quality and flavorful. The Fideo Seco was surprisingly my favorite item. It is vermicelli pasta with sofrito, chorizo and egg yolk and was very tasty. The chicken was good, but hard to eat without using your hands to get all the meat off the bones- the messy hands didn't seem to fit with the restaurant vibe but we loved the flavor and how tender the chicken was. The salsa was good and the chips were fresh, but it seemed like a lot to charge $4 for the ramekins of salsas. I would pass on chips and salsa next time. Overall it was a great vibe, high quality food and good service. Definitely more of a treat meal or great spot to impress a date or business client. For a regular chill meal it felt a bit expensive, but I think they're going for more upscale.

You're greeted with a fun atmosphere, friendly staff, and an energy that makes you excited to be there. Since the restaurant was especially busy, we chose to sit at the bar. There was no wait, and the high-top seating was surprisingly comfortable. Our server was welcoming and attentive, and the service was fast from start to finish. Between the great music and lively atmosphere, you can't help but want to dance while you eat! I ordered one of my favorites--the chicken sope. It was perfectly crispy on the outside while still soft and fluffy on the inside. The chicken was packed with flavor, and the rice and beans were just as delicious. The salsa that came with it was the perfect finishing touch, adding just the right amount of spice and an extra kick of flavor. My hubby ordered one of the carne asada dishes (so sorry, I forgot the name!). He said it was one of the best cuts of meat he's had at a Mexican restaurant in a long time--super tender, juicy, and full of flavor. We had such a fun night! I definitely recommend Rosa Madera--10/10 for a date night, girls' night, or any excuse to enjoy great food and an even better atmosphere.

I found Rosa Madera when searching for "queso" in Yelp...(I really was wanting some queso)…read more Anyways, funnily enough, I read through the menu when I got here and ended up getting nachos in place of the queso...that's fine though, it gave me an excuse to come back another day. It's a nice looking place inside, especially considering its general location. They were busy even at an off hour mid-week, but I can see why because the food is great and so is the atmosphere. My first visit, I tried the following: Enchilada Verde (Lunch Menu), Mini Birria Tacos (Lunch Menu), and Nachos de la Casa (with asada). They also brought out complimentary chicharrones de harina, which was especially nice because I was super hungry! My second visit I had the following: Queso Con Rajás Dip, Los Favoritos, and the Burrito de Carnitas (Lunch Menu). I ended up liking the nachos way more than the queso. I wasn't expecting the queso to just be the consistency of slightly melted cheese. I also wish they were a bit more generous with the chips since I ran out of chips way sooner than the dips. No complaints on my main dish portions though! Really loved most things I've tried. The presentation of my dishes I've ordered here, the Enchilada Verde and the Burrito de Carnitas, was great too. The chicken was just slightly too dry for the Enchilada, but the flavor made up for it. Only complaint is while the service was nice, it was SO slow both times I've been here. It took forever to get the check and when they did bring out the card reader you can't see the receipt, only a total. Then their lowest automatic tipping button is set at over 22% (with two higher percent options), which is honestly crazy to me since most places start at around 18%. I way overtipped on accident the first time I came. I think it's highly likely they get overtipped for this reason, which is nice for them but kind of not fair to the customer. I'll continue to return!

I didn't read or listen carefully enough that the skirt steak with sauteed onions and bell peppers are covered in Spanish sauce. The sauce is actually quite tasty with a little kick. I used it and the salsa to flavor the black beans. However, I really just wanted grilled steak. I should have ordered steak fajitas, a grilled steak burrito or quesadilla, or a carne asada plate. The Steak a la Chicana was a generous portion, which is definitely 2 meals for me. Cilantro rice wasn't anything special. The SWEET CORN TAMALITO is yummy comfort.
