NO ONE wants to be trapped and hostage in a restaurant for more than two hours when there is the rest of the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk to experience. Service was very very slow. They were incapable of handling the customer flow. At the 2 hour mark, still no check, I politely asked another staff to please let use have our check so we could pay and leave. He got defensive immediately. Told me to go back to my table, the only person who could help me was my server, they were short-handed and very busy. Oh and I was not their only customer. Everyone was waiting. I understand you were very busy, but you are not nice and my grandchildren were totally done with sitting around. Dos Locos, I give you 2 Stars. 1 star for your good food and 1 star for our sweet server who was overwrought with customers. You forfeit the other 3 stars for not allowing me to eat and leave in a timely manner. Literally refusing to give me my check, after requesting it 4 times, so I could pay and leave! We come to Rehoboth 2-3 times a year and this is one of my regular stops. My family knows that when we come to Rehoboth we are coming here. We've been coming here since they were located in a small alley. This time the service was horrendous. Additionally, the AC must not have been working as it was an oven inside. They would not let my son order the crag legs because they "take too long when we are busy." When the food arrived the burritos were a fraction of the size they used to be and the taste was nothing like it used to be. The owner actually waited on us and made excuses about being short staffed. Oh, and did I mention the owner dropped bourbon sauce from my son's steak on my burrito plate? We addressed all of this with you during our meal and there was never even an "I'm sorry; please give us another chance." Or "the drinks are on us this time. I hope you'll give us another try." Nothing. I so badly wanted to love my meal as this place has been the standard by which all other Mexican restaurants are measured by me. Please do whatever it takes to get your act together. We've been coming to Rehoboth for years. We always had a decent meal here with good customer service. It was nothing amazing but still decent. Our recent visit was just awful. Soooooo many reasons I'll never return. 1. The menus were so dirty with food we had to ask for another one 2. The free chips were so oily, left an aftertaste. 3. Their tamales aren't gf! Tamales are corn meal, I was so confused. 4. The tacos were bland and just awful 5. They have this house verde sauce on the table that is black. It might possibly be the worst verde I've ever tasted. 6. My drink was so gross from the bar I sent it back. 7. Very limited outdoor seating, but it was still nice. I ordered a "medium" margarita which was the size of my face. It was delicious but more than I was expecting. All of the other 1 star reviews apply to my dining "experience" I do have some things to add-hang on for the twists and turns: I ordered a chicken quesadilla and it was filled with canned baby corn and 1 poorly cut raw tomato slice. The culinary mastery behind that choice still excites me...it excites me almost as much as the having a ginger vinaigrette house dressing-why? I can't. Another person at our table is a vegetarian and ordered a veggie burrito and was told that they couldn't make it without meat-I'm' sorry-what? Then in an attempt to make it seem like a personal favor our mildly English speaking server said-they'll do it without the meat-thanks. Started with warm, salty tortillas with fresh salsa, queso, and gauc. I had the Blue Steak Quesadilla, with salad. Meat was warm and well seasoned. Bourbon sauce on top added a little sweetness to round out the flavor palate. And I can't forget the grande Blood Orange margarita on the rocks. Just bad overall. I know they are short staffed, but they should make people wait to be seated instead of making the service poor for everyone. This place is way too overpriced for such poor service and attitude from the staff. $13 for 2 tacos and no rice or beans.... To give you an idea. I went to the bar to get my drink refills. The margarita pitcher was fine, nothing to write home about but not terrible. It was odd because there were maybe only 3 other tables with customers but the staff was plentiful. As per suggested by fellow reviewers and who were also my companion during the time of visit, we went to this place. And the dispapointment started with waiting time of 30-45 min. We somehow thought it bearable as we could walk around the strip while waiting. Upon checking in, 10% off ,max of $10 is being given as courtesy discount for the Yelpers. A free basket of regular chips with tomatoes as dip was given for ordering dinner entree. It was bland and glad we ordered nachos as an additional appetizer. It was alright but definitely experienced better. Each one of us tried different kind of entree: crab enchilladas: too creamy, the enchillada sauce was a disappoint. It has rice on the side but lacking a particular taste in it. I ended up having it packed. chicken quessadillas: it was alright as per my companion but definitely expecting better. The salad as side was not enticing as well. fish and chips: big serving for the price, need to add seasoning to enjoy it especially my husband pallette favors rich and seasoned meal. chicken wings: with celery on the side, I think we enjoyed it more than anything else. The stone applique hanging in frames at each booth puts Stonegrill in tune with the decor. Noise/sound level: Booth and table seating are kind of tight and some patrons can be obnoxiously loud with their children running screaming throughout the restaurant. You will be able to hear other patrons speaking so mind your conversation. Menu: Fairly large focusing on Mexican flare with other tempting dishes utilizing a 700 degree stone for cooking. Service: Quick, kind of too quick, like pushy. Every five minutes the server would ask if we wanted something else, or if everything was ok. Like, step back sir we are enjoying a family meal here we'll let you know if we need you. Felt rushed like we have to get out quick even though the place was kind of empty. However, the server was polite and poignant. Our food hit the table in less than fifteen minutes; that could say something when a five top orders quite a bit of food. Food: Fajitas, duck tacos, quesadillas, enchiladas were all fine, quality of food was better than average, but should have been of even higher caliber considering what this place wants to be. The quesadillas are simply tortillas folded over, they aren't pressed or cut or anything that indicates quesadilla. Portion size of fajita was pretty huge though. Bar: Full. Price: Some items are priced fairly others are outrageous. The liquor prices are super high. If you want one margarita with your meal; party of two expect in the area of $75 with tip or more. Overall: Given that the down town section has tons of restaurants Dos Locos should make sure all cylinders are firing properly. I would return, but it isn't very high on the to return list. So me and my fiancé have been coming here for 3 years now and every single time before today have had a great experience. We are fully aware of the fact that they are understaffed and busy, which is completely understandable! However, we had Carli as our server and she was horrible to put it nicely. We had gotten the stone grill meals and ordered add ons, and she completely forgot them(again they were busy) but when we reminded her , she got nasty and had a tude. We went here first and had been looking forward to this meal since last years vacation. We have been here several times over the last 3 years. My family and I have been dining at dos locos for servers years now, and I have to say that this last visit when on vacation with my family two weeks ago was terrible. Ever sense they have changed ownership the quality of the food and service have gone downhill. All of our meals and drinks lacked flavor and was nothing like it was served before. When we walked in we were greeted by a security guard inside the establishment at the checkin counter with his arms crossed and a less than desirable look on his face. Mind you this was at 6pm. It makes me wonder why the need for a security guard especially at dinner time. We have dined at plenty of restaurants in rehoboth and the only time you see a security guard or bouncer is at night at the bars, and that's only on the weekends. My family and I have been coming here for around 15 years. After this year, I will not come back. Simply put the service is absolutely horrible and the food has gone from fantastic to mediocre. On this last outing, our waiter spent a half hour ignoring us when we first sat down. When we politely stopped him and asked to order drinks, he huffed and immediately had an attitude. When I pointed out to him that we had been waiting for a half hour without a word from him, the attitude got worse until I told him we'd like another waiter. The manager didn't seem to care, and couldn't be bothered to look at us when we tried to explain the situation. Almost every entree we ordered came out wrong, and they forgot one entirely. It's a shame to see what has happened to this place. It used to be one of our favorites. Save your money and go to Mariachi or Cilantro instead. read more

We popped in here for a "quick" lunch on Saturday afternoon. It's right on the main drag in Rehoboth, so the location is very convenient, and I'd heard good things about the restaurant. This is a typical Tex-Mex restaurant/sports bar set up, with TVs on one side of the restaurant and tables on the other. It's not a huge place at all, but we walked right in and got a table. I ordered a lunch special, a salad bowl. It was so good, and the lettuce was fresh romaine (higher quality than shredded iceburg). It was also a great no-meat option; mine had refried beans and black beans. I thought it would be lighter, but I ended up being stuffed afterwards--the portion size was very generous and filling for a salad. A side note, the bathrooms here are very clean, which can be hard to come by in Rehoboth eateries. The big downfall was how slow the service was. Our server was polite, but she seemed really overworked. In all, for four people, it took approximately two hours to get in and out of Dos Locos at lunchtime (and it wasn't packed). The food took ages (and one of us got his food 5 minutes after the rest of us), and even after our plates were cleared, it took at least half an hour to get our checks, and then even longer to have them take our cards, and then even longer to get our receipts. Our server never stood idly, but there were times where other people would be standing near the host stand doing nothing. It seemed like if they could have helped with even just the bill, things would have moved quicker. I don't know if this was a fluke or not, but it was definitely a disappointment, as the meal took up so much of our afternoon in Rehoboth. read more

This restaurant desperately needs a new chef. I wanted to like this place so much! The food was good but the margaritas fell short. Really friendly service but they cleared our calamari appetizer before we were finished with it. They almost did the same with our guacamole but we stopped them in time. My crab quesadilla was huge and had lots of meat which was lovely. My hubs enjoyed his chimichanga and our friends liked the steak and shrimp fajitas. I recommend the calamari for sure. We just ordered margaritas and our server recommended the medium size. It was huge! And also $28 so check the menu. Unfortunately the margarita was super spicy and don't taste great. We were seated in the back dining room which felt like a had been relegated to a back old room. Try grabbing a spot on the bar side for a more energized environment. My friend decided to bring me here because we love Mexican food! The place is located right on the main strip in Rehoboth beach, a little way back from the boardwalk. We went around 5 o'clock and had no problem with a wait for a table, we were seated immediately. Chips and salsa came free for the table. We also decided on the guacamole (we should have to the big portion it was very good!). I also got a strawberry margarita which was super strong! I ordered the chicken enchiladas and we were very good. It was a big portion though so I took half of it home with me. So, i wish i could write a 5 star review for this restaurant but I believe they need to review the feedback on here and take it into account for how they prepare their food. On the menu it states to let the manager know if anyone has a food allergy. I let the manager know and he told me that the server should be able to take care of us. When we let the server know that my boyfriend has a pretty severe allergy to shellfish he quickly told my boyfriend to stop eating the chips as everything that is fried is fried in the same oil as well as everything that is grilled. Which, i would like to add I had to give him an allergy med soon after as he started to feel it - so beware of the chips. That immediately lowered the choices we had. He got the enchiladas and that was good enough, although he wanted steak fajitas. I may be a bit spoiled, but restaurants that I've gone to before take precautions to make sure they can accommodate food requests made by customers - I think it would be beneficial if this restaurant considered that in the future and how to implement that request. On another note - the sirloin fajitas were so bland. I DO NOT recommend these. Holy smokes! They were so bad. I can't speak on any other food - but don't do it. Our server was great and he did a good job on taking care of us and the restaurant is nice and clean. They took care of us promptly. So I can say in that aspect they did well. Recently my fiancé and I were in the mood for Mexican food so we stopped by this little place near the Boardwalk in Rehobeth Beach, Delaware. Our hostess/ waitress immediately treated us like family with her personable and kind personality! My fiancé and I ordered two incredible margaritas that had been personally prepared by our hostess/waitress ( who had been a bartender in another life)!! We also shared crispy hot chips with house made salsa! My fiancé ordered pork chorizo tacos and I a tasty chicken quesadilla. He and I have had delicious authentic Mexican food during our travels all way from Texas to right here in Virginia. The meal we enjoyed at Dos Locos did not disappoint!
