Service was absolutely horrible. I ordered a bowl and got half chicken as well as half vegetables. The female server, gave me about 4 pieces of small pieces of chicken and 4 tiny Brussel sprouts. I have personally worked in the food line industry before and even I know that that was an absurd tiny amount. I then proceeded to ask nicely if I could get another piece or two of chicken because my bowl looked like it would only satisfy a 5- yr old with the portion. She then proceeded to respond with " oh so you want double chicken." And proceeded to give me 1tiny piece of chicken and then tell the rest of the staff that I would be getting double chicken...??? When I clearly asked for another piece or two of chicken so it would be reasonable amount of food. After, I went to check out and the one working at the registrar tried to charge me double chicken and I explained what the issue was. He then goes and tells me to relax and said he wasn't charging the double chicken. And personally, if you are in the wrong and you're telling the other party to relax, you must be absolutely unaware of anything. I visited Dos Toros during the Friday lunch rush at about 12:45 today. There was a line of about 7-8 people which moved within minutes. The staff was very affective and accommodating with myself and each customer around me. Dos Toros' food is an absolute GEM! Also the prices for the quality is way better than you can get from similar style big name competitors. I got a Bowl with Rice, Chicken, Guacamole, Lettuce, Sour cream, and tortilla crisps. I also ordered a warm tortilla on the side which they use for the burritos. It seemed to be free of charge. The bowl was delicious, I ate the entire thing and I was very full. However, I should say I was not full in a sickening way. The food itself not only tasted quality but feels quality after you eat. MAYBE the best thing is that my entire meal was only about $11. I'm not a big person, but this is the kind of big meal you can have if you were to only eat 2 meals that day. You are getting ALOT of food for those $11. It's not always easy to get full in NYC on something besides pizza for only around $10. I highly recommend stopping into Dos Toros! It was just a true 5 star experience. I've had the salad bowls a few times with their signature greens, however, this time my food was not satisfying. I ordered the pollo asado salad bowl and when I thought I selected their signature greens, I wasn't expecting a bunch of cilantro looking greens with their stems! I really was confused but everything in the server's grasp had such long stems. I ended up picking or cutting off the stems one by one. In the greens selection, there were also yellowing spinach leaves that were definitely not fresh. The salad was also all not chopped up. For approximately the same price, I should have gone down the street to the actual salad place where it's more fresh and they chop it up for you! The tacos looked pretty but completely fell apart when I picked it up out of the container. I had to eat them with a fork, which completely defeated the purpose of tacos. Also, the cashier charged me for steak tacos (most expensive item) when I ordered carnitas.
