This place never disappoints! We come here every time we are in Duluth! One of the best sushi place that we love. Sushi so fresh and their sides are amazing. Their staff are welcoming and kind. It gets pretty busy so be prepared to wait a bit during the busy time. It's clean and I love how they have little private sections if you have a group of 4 or more.

I come here specifically for their extensive lunch menu set meals. Fit for a king or queen and doesn't break the bank. This is Korean style Japanese food and sushi. It hits different, in a good way. Reminds me of my favorite sushi places in Seoul, where the dining area is mostly private rooms. However, I typically visit here for solo lunch. Their tempura is light, fluffy, crispy - the best I've had outside of Japan. They also give you spicy sujaebi as a side. Very fast and super attentive servers that kind of hover over you. Big city atmosphere in the suburbs. You wil see many people having business meeting meals here.

The outside of Doshi Sushi is very unsuspecting. It looks like any strip mall sushi but upon entering you're greeted by a beautiful restaurant. I loved the rooms for each party. It was private and intimate. We were told you press a button on the table for your server to come so it was efficient and pretty soon after pushing the button an employee would come. We got the gyoza. We asked our server June Lee what meet was in it and she said "all", we pressed further and discovered it is all meat but no shrimp. They were good! Still unsure what that means though. The edamame was usual and a decent portion. It's always a safe bet. Miso soup is given to everyone complimentary. This was thoughtful and it was one of the best miso soups I've had. Very rich. The woman serving the soup was kind and warm. For entrees I got the Dancing with the Stars with no cream cheese which was great. Very big portion and beautiful. A slight fishy taste, but I was so hungry I didn't mind. The Donkatsu Don unfortunately fell really short. It was flavorless no matter the soy sauce added. The vegetables were great but not enough to hold up the meal. It didn't look like any Donkatsu I've had. After a few bites we chose to just get a box. We enjoyed trying their rendition but would not get again. The only thing that will keep us from going back to Doshi to try something else would be the service. We felt more of an inconvenience and rushed by our server. She would visibly roll her eyes when we would ask for something or have a question about the menu. English wasn't her native language so she may have been tired, but we left feeling very uncomfortable. Bad service can ruin a meal and it did.

E X P E R I E N C E we came on a Sunday for brunch around 11am. we had a reservation for 6 and a baby. we were immediately sat and had a private room (love!). F O O D hot tea set E for 5 people (but our 6th doesn't eat raw fish) chefs choice of sashimi and sushi (see photos but there were 5 pc of 5 different cuts of sashimi, eel and shrimp tempura roll grilled fish shrimp tempura spicy squid fish roe over rice fish roe soup steamed egg it wasn't bad! the sashimi/nigiri cuts were all thick and quite fresh. the steamed egg was so tasty. the dishes all came with beautiful presentation. the spicy squid wasn't very spicy (for someone who loves spicy). it wasn't over grilled where it's too crunchy. it was meaty and chewy. everything was pretty good, but for the price? amazing!! Very good Korean style sushi in Duluth. Ate here a few times and the last time with friends, really enjoyed it. We were seated in a nice, quiet room. The server brought us some fresh side dishes which were very tasty. We ordered a lunch special for three and lots of beer and soju. Very good service and lots of food even for three people.

This is a totally unassuming spot - it's basically in a strip mall. All the servers are incredibly attentive. It is a Korean spot so expect the greetings and Korean side dishes to come out with your meal. The fried fish cake side dish definitely overshadowed the radish dish. Savory fish cakes in a sesame oil marinade. The fish is SO fresh. That's all you want from a sushi spot really, letting the fish shine. The real star is the the shrimp tempura. I have thought about this dish every day since I've had it. The batter is light and ultra crunchy, yet the shrimp inside is still soft and delicate. I honestly didn't even need the sauce it comes with for dipping. I didn't want to swallow because I needed to savor every bite. Will come back at the minimum for the tempura, the rest of their sushi/seafood is tasty as well.

Such a delicious sushi place in Duluth! We got a roll, the sashimi lunch combo, and a fish cutlet. Everything came out quickly and was well presented. I loved the sashimi and it was very good value for lunch. The inside is also very cute and well decorated.

Pretty decent sushi in Duluth. My mom and I ordered the summer flounder special for lunch and it came with an assortment of side dishes which were great and very tasty. The flounder itself was good but we felt like the quantity was a bit small for the price. It looks like a lot of people come here for their lunch specials so I'll have to try that out next time.

This was our 2nd time trying this place. I must admit I was hesitate, our first encounter was not good. So very glad we came back. Lunch choices are limited, but tat just makes it easier to order. We added 3 rolls onto our lunch combos, amazing! Very fresh and tasty. All the servers were nice and friendly. We sat at sushi bar, ad the chef add us a special item. I do not know the name but it was the most delicious thing I've had. This is a must try place! Enjoy! read more

I've been wanting to visit here and I finally found the time over the weekend. I stopped by on a Saturday and I really enjoyed my experience. I was alone so I sat at the sushi bar. I saw there was a lunch special so initially I wanted to order that however I saw a Lobster Roll and a Carb Roll so I decided to try those instead since they aren't included in the lunch special. The lobster roll was fresh and didn't have that fishy taste. The crab roll was pretty big but it was tasty! I really enjoyed both. My meal came with a bowl miso soup which was very good also. Overall my visit went well. The sushi was good and the customer service was even better. read more

We arrived on a Friday night around 7pm with a group of four. We were seated immediately in a booth. The guys got large bottles of Sapporo for $7 each, and I got some hot tea. They have a sheet of paper you mark your order down on. One sheet per check. So make sure if you are splitting the check unevenly then you get more than one sheet of paper to mark your orders down on. My bf and I ordered the an order of takoyaki, salmon skin roll, Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) roll, and Fantastic roll. My friends ordered the grilled eel and a chef special. Before the main dishes arrived we got an assortment of kimchi, pickled radishes, (what tasted like) wasabi bean sprouts, and several other little dishes. They were all really good. My favorite was the wasabi bean sprouts. It was very unique to me. The takoyaki here is a great deal! You get four pieces for $5, and they are delicious. The grilled eel my friend ordered was absolutely delicious. I am not a fan of eel sushi, so I did not think I would like his dish. I tried it anyway, and I am glad I did!! It was fantastic. The DWTS was also delicious and I felt it was a roll that had a great price to deliciousness ratio. The fantastic roll is only five pieces, but it was also very good. The salmon skin roll was okay. It had a very smoky flavor and there wasn't anything wrong with it, but I probably won't order it again. It just didn't spark the same kind of excitement all the other dishes did. I'm sure they have a lot of other rolls I'd be be more willing and excited to try. So the chef special my friend ordered was very interesting. The best way I could describe it is almost like a sashimi bibimbap-type dish. We were told that you mix the rice into the veggies and sashimi followed by the spicy sauce. The bowl was large and it was a lot of food. My friend mixed in TWO bowls of rice, and ate it all. THE ABSOLUTE HIGHLIGHT of the night was when the very friendly and talented sushi chef came by our table and graced us with the most delicious piece of tuna cheek. It had a sauce drizzled over it. I kid you not it literally melted in my mouth. It was so good I had to consciously try to savor it as it was melting down into my tummy the instant I closed my mouth. It was gone and left me wanting more. It was very nice of the chefs and it felt almost like we were getting a little piece of an Omakase experience. If they did an Omakase here I would definitely attend! At the end of the meal they provide a nice drink similar to a (nonalcoholic) digestif. It's sweet and very cinnamony. I think the table was somewhat split with how much they enjoyed it. But I really liked it. It was a cold sweet drink and a nice way to end the meal. We received great service throughout our meal. This will definitely be our go-to for sushi from now on. It was just so amazing and unexpectedly fun thanks to the sushi chefs. The only con is that the shopping plaza Doshi Sushi is located in is already really busy and relatively small. With this addition to the plaza the parking will definitely become more difficult as I can see Doshi becoming very popular. read more

So far, I've been to Doshi twice, and the service and food have been amazing. It's definitely pricier for the amount of food that you get, but I personally think the quality of the sushi is worth the price. The side dishes that come with the combos are tasty and plentiful. We went to Doshi Sushi the past Saturday at around 2:30pm, and I ordered teriyaki salmon. It's the second time I ordered this dish, because the first time I tried it (about 3 months ago) it was delicious. However, this time this same dish was not good at all. First, the amount of vegetables at the bottom of the salmon was much less than last time, and quite a few pieces of vegetables were burnt! Second, the salmon was simply bad. There were a lot of bites of the salmon where I had to chew so hard to swallow, it seemed like the salmon was dried out during the cooking somehow? I had to leave a chunk of the salmon on the plate, because it was so dry it was inedible. I don't know why this time the salmon teriyaki tasted so horribly. Maybe it wasn't peak lunch hour. Maybe because the reviews on this restaurant have been so good that the cooking got careless? But I know I probably won't order it in the future. Such a shame that this dish deteriorated so much, since I like cooked salmon very much. read more

I came here for lunch with my coworkers and we were all very satisfied with our meals. Although it was Friday lunch time and the place was very spacious, it was packed with customers. They greeted us as soon as we came in but had to wait for about 5 to 10 minutes to be seated. Good customer service overall and clean environment as well! I ordered set b from the menu and I was getting full mid-way. It was a good amount of sashimi and sushi and other side dishes so I thought it was a good deal. The quality of the fish was fresh and everything else tasted pretty good! I would definitley bring my family here and recommend to everyone! read more

For me to give 5 stars the service has to match the food and this place never disappoints. I had the Sashimi Deluxe and "TORO"... and so many tasty side dishes. Just when I thought I was ready for my check, the nice lady says, no not yet and brings out a super tasty fish roe over rice and a super hot spicy fish soup. It's hard to stand out from the crowd when you are in the Asian food Mecca of Duluth but I think this place is going to leave its mark. Very warm and inviting atmosphere. The place offers authentic sushi choices. We ordered a variety of sushi, udon noodles, and teriyaki chicken for kids. All turned out to be great choices. They also serve you small plates of pickled vegetables - simply amazing. There was so much food, we asked for a box which will be my lunch tomorrow. We ended a meal with a complimentary cup of cinnamon lemon tea. Overall awesome experience. read more

I ordered Jirachi and Hwae dup bop for lunch. I was very disappointed with Jirachi. It only had 4 different types of sashimi and little portion. My husband ordered Hwae dup bop. It is his second stomach upset. Either Hwes dup bop was not fresh or the spicy soup was not fresh. read more

Unless you're rich and have a luxury lifestyle, drive a decked out Benz AMG GT, dont go here. The place is expensive. But if you decided to go for cheaper stuff, yes there are still pretty good rolls and sushi, etc, it wont be enough due the size. Service though, it is well done. Staffs are friendly. The ambiance is decent and well maintained and clean. It's recommended, if you're ready for the bills. read more

The worst Japanese restaurant ever visited. Spent over $200 for sashimi combo to feed four people on dinner, but ended up leaving starved. The quality of food was subpar, served in partially thawed, not even close to fresh and firm texture expected from quality sashimi. Extremely disappointed by an overpriced and insufficient amount of food served. read more

By far one of the best sushi places I've had since moving to GA! The fish quality is very fresh, Korean side dishes (banchan) is much more tastier and better quality than your typical Korean restaurants here in Duluth, and the courses are not badly priced. Seriously, so good. read more

We love the sashimi set here. It won't be the traditional Japanese style. But it is still a good variety of fish. It's comes with many amazing side dishes such as yellow tail with ponzu, Zaru soba, tempura shrimp, grill flounder, baked corn... and many more, which fills up the whole table and they are very generous with the amount of the sashimi on the spread! Just when we thought we were finished they brought more side dishes and the hot spicy Korean soup was such a nice ending to finish our meal. Highly recommend. Service was great too! They ran out of a sake we like to order but upgraded us for a premium sake for the same price! read more

Wow! This place is GREAT! 5 star worthy. First time in the area and I found this awesome place! It just opened up around a month ago! The staff was super knowledgeable and VERY friendly. I've dined here twice, lunch and dinner. The first time I visited for lunch and ordered the lunch special for 2 people. The second visit I went for dinner. Unfortunately they did not have a similar special for dinner, so we decided to get the sashimi $160. Although they are similar, I would recommend the lunch special because it comes with more variety (sashimi & sushi). I also preferred lunch service compared to dinner. read more

Decor is nice looking and each table is a booth style with high wall partition. We ordered the Ozuri You Course + Takoyaki + Japanese Pudding for dessert. Lots of food for sure. Our favorite is their fish items (sushi, sashimi, grilled cod) AND Pudding! We've never tasted a cod as soft and flaky as the one served here. The pudding is as close to as you can get to an authentic pudding in Japan.

In any case, I finally decided to check out the place for dinner. Well, right away, I saw that they added more tables. Even with more tables, the restaurant still seemed pretty spacious. I've always loved the spaciousness of this place...but I find the layout a bit awkward. Unless you come with a group of 4, you'll most likely be seated in the open area...where there's just this utter lack of privacy. So yeah, as nice as this place is, there's a certain lack of comfort and coziness? I also noticed that their menu/menus looked quite different. Initially I was handed just this Korean-Chinese menu...and when I asked if they had Bento Boxes, they handed me the Japanese menu, but I didn't see any sushi rolls on the menu (??). I should have asked, but I just let that go. In retrospect, I really regret not asking. But then again, I wonder why they didn't hand out ALL the menus right off the bat? Who knows...Maybe they had a third menu with a list of sushi rolls?? ANYWAY, I ended up ordering their Bulgogi Bento, which turned out to be quite substantial in portion, and well presented. The thing I didn't like was the bland, undercooked Bulgogi, with excessive fat. I've been getting served a lot of Bulgogi like this lately around town..and it has somewhat turned me off to Bulgogi in general. I personally prefer a much better cooked Bulgogi, with less fat. I enjoyed the Japchae, as well as the fried sides, but frankly, all the foods were all lacking in full Korean flavor. Some of the sides in the bento just seemed off...like these lackluster Avocado Sushi Rolls and a generic Salad (??). I felt that for the 32-dollar pricing, the sides should have been much better. This bento also came with Egg Drop Soup...but again, too bland. Guess I should have poured some soy sauce. As usual, the service was really good though. They even added this complimentary post-meal drink...this might have been the best part of my entire meal? I still think this is a really nice restaurant, with a lot to offer. I just didn't like how it got rid of many of its stellar Japanese menu items. Also, unfortunately, I just didn't like what I ordered. Again, the Bulgogi was too mild and too fatty...and all the foods in the Bento tasted a bit too bland. If I was to return, I would definitely not repeat the Bulgogi Bento. If they really don't have any sushi rolls, guess I'd order something Chinese?

I started with the Okiboru buns (chicken and pork) the crispy gyoza, and the garlic nori fries. All three were a great start to the meal. The buns were soft and fluffy, and the pork bun worked really well with the garlic aioli, soy glaze, and pickled cucumber. The chicken one was good too but the pork one beats it on flavor. The gyoza had a nice crisp to them and came with a shoyu dipping sauce that tied everything together well. The garlic nori fries were also really good, crispy and well seasoned, and a fun side to snack on between everything else along with the garlic sauce to dip your fries in. For my main dish, I ordered the tonkotsu ramen, which comes with rich pork broth, pork chashu, half a soft boiled egg, scallions, and thin Hakata noodles. I also added the thick noodle refill on the side, and I'm glad I did because both noodles were excellent in different ways. The biggest standout here was the noodle quality. You can tell immediately that these are fresh noodles because the texture is just on another level. The thin noodles were fantastic and worked perfectly with the tonkotsu broth, but the thick noodles were incredible too. It's one of those meals where after the first bite you immediately understand why people talk about fresh noodles the way they do. The broth itself was rich, flavorful, and comforting without feeling overly heavy, and the pork in the ramen was very good too. Service was also a big part of why this visit stood out. Aaliyah was incredibly kind and welcoming, and she did a great job making the whole experience feel comfortable from the start. Good food is one thing, but good service is a huge part of what makes people want to come back, and she absolutely deserves a shoutout. The restaurant itself was clean, spacious, and comfortable. I was dining solo, so I sat at a smaller table, but they also have booths and larger middle tables that look like they'd work well for bigger groups. Food came out pretty quickly, and parking was easy since it's in a shopping center. And of course, everything got washed down with a Coke Zero. Not fountain, just canned, but it still hit the spot. Starting from the service to the food itself, everything was on point! The owner made me and my party feel very welcomed when we first walked in. The waitress was warm and attentive and also very knowledgeable about the menu. They also put in a lot of effort in remodeling the entire restaurant from the previous atrocity. Much more modern and comfortable to dine in with adequate lighting as well. Moving on to the food, the freshness of the sushi was exceptional. We had the privileged of being shown a freshly shipped Tuna and a sample of it as well. I love that they don't cut corners and only offer the best. It's rare to find a restaurant that goes out of their way to get the highest quality of ingredients. I ordered the takoyaki and calamari as appetizers. The takoyaki was rich and flavorful but not over bearing at all. The calamari was fried perfectly and not rubbery like most places. For the entree, I ordered the Tuna Lover Roll and it was AMAZING. Again, you can really taste the freshness of the fish and the rice didn't overpower it. I look forward to trying everything on the menu eventually! read more
