This was a highly disappointing experience from beginning to end. We had a larger party of 12 and they could not move tables around so we had to sit in three tables of four. There was an automatic service fee of 18% added (not just because of the large party size but for every party. The service definitely reflected the fact that they had an automatic tip. They were incredibly slow and unresponsive. The three tables food came out at totally different times despite being ordered at the same time. Of course, I was hoping that the food would redeem the experience but no such luck. I had chicken and waffles and the chicken "tenders" that came were the driest stringiest tenders that I have ever had. Even the syrup and hot sauce could not revive them. The food for the third tabe was also cold to complete the less than stellar experience. Needless to say, there is no repeat performance in my future! read more

Amazing breakfast! Really a nice spot and the bar is open early. A rare find in my food journey. Mimosas and omelets were the best choice. Server was fast and they played great music too. Went on a Saturday afternoon, first time there , sat at the bar , it was very busy and the bartender Jessica was slammed with customers but she assured me that I was gonna be well taken care of and she did not disappoint. Delicious! My husband and I went here for brunch on Sunday. I had the catfish and he had the special - French toast sandwich. This sandwich had BOTH bacon & sausage, eggs, cheese and was dusted with powdered sugar. It came with breakfast potatoes. It was SO good. My catfish came with 2 eggs, breakfast potatoes and toast, with house made strawberry jam. DELISH. The fish was so hot, I swear it just came out of the fryer. I loved the breakfast potatoes and the red peppers mixed in was a nice flavorful touch. No complaints from either of us. Huge portions, too. Try it! Catfish I fry at home is more flavorful, scramble eggs were overcooked and dry, grits was tasteless), my daughter ordered shrimp and grits, (wasn't picture worthy or tasty) again, better at home. I ate brunch here this morning around 11:45 a.m. I ordered the blackened catfish and shrimp with grits. In the description, the grits were described as creamy. However, the grits were clumpy and hard, the catfish was undercooked, and the shrimp were very fishy. If I could rate my meal on a scale of 1/10, it would be a 1. So I guess whenever you go somewhere downtown Cleveland, you should expect funky parking but omg that's something to definitely note, if you are coming to this place on the day of an event. The place is super cute inside! I loved the ambiance in there! My server was so nice & even gave me a free mimosa because my first one had a strawberry on it and I'm allergic. The reason for 4 stars is the food wasn't as good as I expected!! Maybe I got the wrong thing but my grits was not seasoned, it wasn't good at all. And my catfish was okay, feel like it could've been better. I think I would go back on a more chill morning and try the shrimp or chicken. So I finally made it to the Double Nickel for a birthday brunch. Initially I was excited having seen several people post about how delicious their food was. However I was sorely disappointed with our 1st time experience here. We arrived at about 12:45. First off, we had a difficult time identifying the valet. My daughter went in to put our name on a waitlist and inquire about the valet. She was told that he was outside. We saw a guy leaning up against a car looking at his phone. There was nothing noticeable to identify him as the valet. My daughter was walking around looking for the valet for about 5 minutes. When I got out of the car to look in the opposite direction the young man spoke up and asked if we needed valet. We were reluctant but we then saw his shirt said valet. It cost $25 to valet. Once we went inside, we waited about 40 minutes to be seated. We had to stand the entire time as there was not any sitting for those waiting for a table. My husband that recently had hip replacement surgery was allowed to sit at the bar. We were finally seated were told someone would be with us shortly. About 20 minutes later, our server arrived and said "I'm sure they told you that we cannot put any orders in until 1:45pm." It was currently 1:25pm. We were told no such thing. There server did offer free beverages as a consolation. The drinks arrived promptly. Server came back at 1:45 to take our order. The table of 4 ordered salmon patties, waffles fried fish. Forty-five minutes past and no food, My daughter got up from our table to find the someone to inquire about our food. She spoke to who she believes was the manger. This person told my daughter they were behind because her cook was in the hospital, but she would check on our food. Twenty minutes later our food arrived to our table. The only thing that was hot was our grits, everything else was warm and my other daughter's eggs were not even prepared properly. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. We were the only table seated in a room off to the left of the entrance. I honestly believe that they forgot about us. While waiting for our food , we saw several people that arrived quite a bit of time after us, seated, eat & leaving before we even received our food. The food was alright. Definitely not worth a $25 valet and a 2.5 hr wait! read more

Regardless of temperature it also wasn't very flavorful. Our waitress was nice whenever we did see her. However we were there for about an hour and a half because the service was so slow. Our meal (which was quite good) finally arrived, but our waitress never checked back with us. We had to chase her down to get the bill. I asked the hostess to help. She barely looked up from her phone to say "she'll be with you." The bartenders (plural) with nothing to do, couldn't be bothered. Finally we got our bill and got out of there. Truly awful service.
