This place is nice! It's really big! The rooms are nice. Very clean. They even have a lounge called karma attached to it. Karma is a restaurant/bar with great food. My wife had a salad and buffalo chicken cheese fries. While I had the grilled cheese with mushrooms spinach and sliced tomatoes. I also had an offer of honey siracha wings. Everything was great. Karma Pub, attached to the hotel, serves a tasty burger, fries, and pickle. Mark, the bartender, was attentive and friendly.

The only way to "trust" you have a clean room is to not see signs of the occupant before your stay, that's it. A dated Hotel with an astonishing loud hvac had a sink of dried facial hair. Serviceable otherwise but can really use an upgrade. read more

Stayed there for the weekend for my nephew's wedding. This is 2.5 hrs. away from home and 15 minutes to the venue. Good location. When we tried to check in, there was a discrepancy on the agreed rate. Had to speak with the manager for a good 15 minutes. Finally got it straightened out. Valerie checked us in. She had no smile on her face! Did not offer the complimentary cookies to us. We had 2 rooms connecting and there were issues. Ours was dripping faucet in the bathroom and the lamp by the TV does not work. The connecting room has a beeping sound! Thought it was from outside but turned out to be the AC unit! Very annoying during the night! I went downstairs to advise them. Mediate was very nice and helpful. Although I did not want to bother to change rooms or have the maintenance guy to come and fix it, I want them to be aware of it. The room was not very clean and there were some debris on the floor when we got in. Also everything is so dated! Old carpets throughout and heavy wooden chairs were not comfortable. I have to say the lobby decor is acceptable. Karma Pub for breakfast was great! I enjoyed the friendly staffs and great breakfast! The restaurant is nicely done, however, the tables are too high and the chairs were too low. Chairs were old and cushions were saggy! Not sure if I would choose this hotel if I were the one who has a block. There is one across the street that is probably cheaper. Just the fact that we all want to stay together for the wedding. That is the reason why we stayed there. You can judge yourself if you happen to stay here. read more

Room didn't feel clean, vacuuming not done under chairs/table . Front desk staff( except for the night we checked in) were not welcoming, didn't look up or make eye contact as you enter the hotel. We checked out after 3 nights, we were too busy before that or we would have checked out immediately. We went to nearby Hampton Inn and it was clean, friendly and comfortable. Hilton really shouldn't have their name associated with this particular Doubletree. read more

My boyfriend and I recently stayed here for a few days while we were working through some apartments issues. We both felt incredibly taken care of here. The staff were all so friendly and able to take care of anything we needed. This hotel is gigantic! It is so much bigger than I realized and in addition I didn't know they had so much event space. The decoration is really nice too. We felt like we stepped into a warm and cozy cabin area from the design and decor. In addition, they do a complimentary breakfast and the food was delicious!! We were so impressed with everything they provided and offered. We really loved the warm chocolate chip cookies they provide you on check-in as well! There is also a huge indoor pool! I would highly recommend this Double Tree to any out of town friends or family we have who are in need of somewhere to stay! read more

Struggling. The staff are nice, but the facilities are borderline. The elevator stinks of oil and lurches, no idea how it passes inspection. Mattresses are beaten flat. Line of dust in a couple spots the staff don't think to check. The A/C has run continually in 2 different rooms, like it will heat your room then immediately switch to cooling and back, over and over all day. Sometimes I manually turn it off just to shut it up. The bar is fine. Seems like everything probably comes frozen but it's fine. This is still an okay hotel to stay at. But it's on that line where if you told me it was going to get closed down in 6 months I wouldn't be surprised. Maybe they're trying to hang in until corporate does a big refresh. Pretty bad Booked a business reservation. Arrived Sunday at 9-9:30 and told bar restaurant closed for was hungry. Room clean and these massive heavy chairs serving no purpose at end of bed that takes a muscle builder to move? Why .. elderly couple would be perplexed to move? dump them asap and light weight chairs ? Seating needs addressing asap ... these 500 lb wood chairs will heat a house. Then heat has mind of it's own what temp it thinks you want and noisy... it wants you cold then seeking heat til you sweat in sleep ... I gave up as a mess Next morning with my free breakfast coupon... told closed and has breakfast box for me? An orange, applesauce for an infant, apple juice for infant, and awful muffin... ripped off as rate was higher to include breakfast...no offer to adjust. Next morning... breakfast buffet opened and was equivalent to a low class hampton inn in a crime ridden city... disgraceful... As lifetime life time Diamond member... place needs help from Corporate . Chicago woke leaders now keeping visitors away with crime . Cleaning of Room request only and after requested ... was excellent under current low income generation hotel. Place dated... restaurant bar depressing Eating breakfast depressing... stay away unless you get a homeless shelter rate or a free tent on street. A mess...no menu for the restaurant available on website, in room .. a mystery as hiding what serving... Room service ... forget about it ... Uber eats is option I guess... the display of hotel details on Tv in room tells you Jack s#it.... No microwave in room to heat your own food as hotel appears provides few options...I found a single 1980 vintage one in 1st floor hidden in vending room ... what a bad stay ... I am traveling to area each week and better options and they can skip there chocolate cookie.....one redeeming result last night Stopped to restaurant for something quick to eat and beer. Came in as a group since four of us were staying at the Double Tree. I arrived first and ordered off of the happy hour menu. I requested 4 corn tortilla tacos, two chicken, two beef. When my friends arrived so did the tacos but they were gringo-style, with flour. I asked our server to exchange them but he instead argued with me that I ordered flour despite him not writing down the order because writing down the order 'makes him forget'. We placed a drink order and more appetizers and when the food arrived we did not get all of it as he must have left off one guest's hotdogs since he must have written only this item down. The back space is breathtaking, and even better yet, they are double booked for weddings so they can share the beautiful space! The service, Tim, was awesome. So knowledgeable about the menu and the restaurant. They normally don't allow the space in the back to be open for dinner but for us they made the exception! For dinner I had the meatloaf, I love me some comfort food. Honestly it tastes like it was nuked so it wasn't my taste, hence the rating, but the space makes up for it! Note: This review is for the Karma Pub only, the dining area of this hotel. From the pictures posted here you can easily deduce that this is primarily a bar but it also has a reasonably good food menu. We came here on a Tuesday night and from the number of cars in the parking lot near the door to the restaurant section, we thought it was going to be deserted. It turns out that this bar has a substantial crowd from the guests of the hotel. Most of them seemed only to be drinking. There are several tables near the back of the room that are of the reasonable height for dining and we found a spot there. The menu here is fairly eclectic and we ordered the butter chicken and the three meat Italian panini. The chicken was as authentic as in any nearby Indian restaurant and the panini while fairly mild was well-made and stuffed with meat. It was served with a choice of sides; we had the tater tots. Service on this night was provided by the bartenders and they did an excellent job. Locals who are passing up this place because they think of it as a typical hotel bar are missing out on some great casual dining. read more

Sigh. I'm leaving a bad review in the hopes that they get their shit together and go back to former glory. With two small kids at home, we rarely get a night out. Our first experience was fantastic: The bartender was a pretty, athletic blonde who mixed up some amazing drinks! We enjoyed the food and the staff. If I had Yelped then, I might've left five stars. This time, the bartender could hardly be bothered. A petite brunette, she was eating her dinner at the bar on a busy night with lots of customers in attendance. In between, she was chatting up another staff member (the manager?) who took a personal phone call at the bar and seemed to be nitpicking customers. She made pretty good drinks but wasn't very personable. Then, she charged my husband's card with someone else's bill in addition to ours. Did she tell us about it? No. She swiped the refund but it had already pulled the funds for a 48 hour hold. We found out the next day when he checked his account. Oh, and they used to have a deal on martinis, no more. I wish I could give Karma a rave review but we didn't actually get to eat here. My husband made Mother's Day brunch reservations for my family. When we arrived with my 14 month old son, I requested a highchair. My husband did mention this when making the reservation. They brought me a broken high chair. The host/manager said he would find me another working one if we could wait a couple minutes. We waited for 15 minutes and nothing. My husband informed the host/manager we would be leaving and that it would be nice if they had working highchairs for Mother's Day brunch. We will not be returning. read more
