Ate here on a busy afternoon and I'm extremely disappointed with the service provided. When I first walked in I was instructed to scan a QR code and the whole interaction was very minimal. I was really thirsty for water after shopping in downtown the whole day and the staff kept trying to ask if I wanted a beer or a Coca Cola like NO JUST GIVE ME WATER. Why do you need to ask to give me water?? Everything about this interaction felt so transactional like if this was the kind of service I wanted then I would've went to McDonald's. The food was alright and the staff looked miserable. I would've probably been better off at the doughzone near the paramount theater. read more

My daughter and I were in the Pike Market area and stopped by for dinner. I had really high expectations for the place but it fell short. The egg fried rice was OK but very sub par compared to we just had DTF from Vancouver. The pan fried bun had a very thick skin. It was OK but probably the best of the 4 items we ordered. Green onion pancakes were very thin. My daughter said it tastes like the ones I made from store bought. The worst was the beef roll pancakes. Super salty and overly sauced. Me and my family came here and we loved it! We shared the beef-stew noodle soup, Spicy ma la noodles, the fried rice, steamed dumplings, sweet and sour cucumber salad, and boiled wontons. From the outside and interior, this place feels sleek and modern which gave me high expectations that the food would match the vibe. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to that. The soup dumplings barely had any soup in them. While one of my friends enjoyed the pork bun, I found it pretty average compared to others I've had elsewhere. My friend actually placed a to go order for another pork bun, which was supposed to take about 15 minutes but it was completely forgotten until we asked about it 30 minutes later. Ambience is nice; convenient location on harbor steps wiyh great lighting. Service is polite. My companion recommended the egg fried rice and scallion pancakes. While the rice was flavorful, the portion was small (barely a cup and a half of rice), and lukewarm. For $6.50, you expect better. The pancake was crispy, but too oily. The dumplings were terrible. The pan fried version had a great crisp on the bottom, but the top part (where the dough is crimped) was less than al dente. Meaning, it wasn't cooked all the way through. Same for the steamed version: soggy bottom, partially cooked at the seam. What was truly disappointing was the filling: flavorless, mass produced meat pellets. This place is almost like DTF's chiller, more down to earth cousin. We went for a late lunch and got the chicken XLB, pork XLB, shrimp and pork potstickers, pork buns, banana crepe and a Thai iced tea. Everything was okay, but nothing really blew me away. The soup dumpings were my favorite, though the craftsmanship of them was a little off. My partner really enjoyed the pork buns. The banana dessert was downright nasty and oily and I wish we'd not gotten it. The service leaves a lot to be desired. I wouldn't say anyone was rude, the servers were just really inattentive and blasé and the restaurant wasn't even extremely busy. It took forever for refills and we had to flag someone down to ask for the little bowls to make our dipping sauce, which I kind feel like should be a no brainer at a dumpling restaurant. One of the moments that bothered me the most was when we asked what types of seafood the seafood sauce that comes with the broccoli is made of because my partner has a crab allergy. The server said "Let me check," and walks away. Of course, we're thinking she's going to come back with a verbal answer, instead she returns with a small bowl of the sauce and gives it to my partner to taste? We reiterate that my partner has a shellfish allergy and she's like "It has crab and shrimp, yeah don't eat that." Cool. We verbally order the broccoli without the sauce, and go so far as to cross it out on the paper menu slip...It still arrives to us with the sauce on the plate and some of it is spilled on the broccoli near it. Whew, I was so excited for dough zone because we have no equivalent where I live. Overall, the food was okay but the service leaves a lot to be desired. The bao, pancake, potstickers were excellent. The broccoli was very undercooked (raw) and the cucumber was underpickled by a lot. The ma la noodles and fried rice were okay. Getting any additional refills or napkins was really hard. The team would hear your request then come back about 5-10 minutes later to actually fulfill it. This is challenging with young families when you're trying to contain the mess your child is making. I've been coming here for a while and usually don't leave reviews, but I felt like I had to after my visit yesterday. I stopped by for a quick dinner with a friend, and the service was amazing. The staff was very friendly, and I noticed how fast they were working while still making sure everyone was taken care of. One employee was even handing out stickers to kids, which I thought was really sweet. The restaurant was also very clean and well-maintained. The restaurant has sufficient space inside and there was little to no wait on a Friday night. It's located down the street, a couple blocks away from Pike Place Market. The food is good and what I expected from Dough Zone. The price is on the cheaper end but still tastes good. It's consistent with another location that I've gone to. This is our go-to spot to eat before a Mariners or Hawks game. Get off from work downtown, eat here, then walk over to the stadium. We're typically in and out within 30 minutes. While in the past this place was a bit hit or miss, since this past spring it's been consistently good. Our go-to order is the kale salad, beef pancake roll, XLB, shrimp and pork potstickers, and dan dan noodles. Tasty food, and great value. The staff is also very attentive and friendly--especially Vu. This guy has excellent customer service skills, and clearly cares about the guest experience. He's the MVP at this location! read more

Don't really understand the hate from other reviews because it's literally sub $15 soup noodles (at least the beef noodle soup option). Where else are you going to find this in downtown Seattle? The portion sizes are good and the beef noodle soup is so rich and flavorful. Service is fast and attentive, and the restaurant, which seems pretty recently built, has a very fresh and new vibe to it. Would come again! Came here out of convenience since Pike Place was closed, and honestly wasn't very impressed. The aesthetic of the place and food looks good but I felt that the food itself was just decent. We ordered the sesame romaine lettuce salad (one friend doesnt like cucumbers, and another doest like kale), pan fried potstickers, chili wontons, xlb, dan dan noodles, and beef stew noodle soup. Maybe because I've tried other places that specialize in these dishes, I felt like the dishes were quite bland and lacked flavor. I was a bit disappointed by the noodles as it just seemed like ramen noodles for both the dan dan and beef stew. I was expecting the noodles to taste more fresh but it was a little soggy. If I'm being honest the salad was my favorite. The lettuce tasted fresh and the sesame dressing paired well with each crunchy bite. What really made us scratch our heads was that we had been seated at a (5 seat) table, but 15 mins later one of the servers asked us to sit at a smaller table (4 seats) because there happened to be a party of 5 that just came in. We wouldnt have minded if this was at the beginning, but we had already been seated with water, ordered, and started snacking. The space is roomy, and unlike some of the other locations, you're usually not stuck in a long line. The food is reliably excellent and true to the brand. My personal weakness is the sweet-and-sour cucumber. It's so addictive you'll swear they sprinkle magic on it. Potstickers are always a safe bet, and the pork and shrimp dumplings never disappoint. Pair it with their cold sake, especially the Nigori, and you've got yourself a perfect combo. If there's one thing holding this place back, it's the service. Initial orders come out fine, but once you've got your food and drink, it's like you've entered witness protection (good luck getting noticed again.) A little more attentiveness would take this location from "solid choice" to "standout favorite." read more

Was at downtown seattle & my sister goes to Dough Zone franchise a lot. Food is delicious, portions are small, it's more of an individual meal sized compared to other dumpling houses where it's served family style. We all ordered the beef stew noodle soup, the broth is flavorful and balanced with the tender beef. Comes with two pieces of lettuce, pieces of beef, noodles, and green onions for garnish. My sister ordered us the sweet and sour cucumber....blew my mind. It was so crunchy, had the perfect tang, and is cut in a specific way that is a continuous log which I enjoyed. I also ordered the pork boiled wontons in chili sauce, it comes with 6 pieces and is pretty small compared to the wrapper to meat ratio. Besides that everything came hot and was delicious. I ordered the passion fruit tea and the rest of my family shared the jasmine tea which comes in a coffee pot ensuring that it stays warm. We were seated pretty fast considering how busy it was, you scan a QR code in the entrance and they call you afterwards. Plenty of seats and tables. I was at dough zone harbor steps during the Fifa games, it was close to the pier so my friends and I decided to come up and try it out. I've left a review that day and it keeps getting taken down because apparently it was getting "REPORTED" by people. That's such a petty thing to do by the owner or whoever takes care of that place. Is it really hard to admit that your restaurant doesn't meet expectations of customers? Here's the OG review: restaurant was next to the great wheel and has a decent view. it was pretty loud but I can't say anything about that due to fifa. What was especially frustrating was that while I was ready to place my order, the kitchen staff and what appeared to be a manager seemed more focused on chatting than helping customers. The food itself was okay, but the service and efficiency were not. If the restaurant is slow and there are few customers, there really isn't a good reason for such long delays. The restaurant's service has become really short staffed lately, and the whole experience feels completely different now. talk about before the staff and management were friendly, which made this location feel comfortable and enjoyable for the customers to visit . But over the past few weeks, everything seems to have changed for the worse. There are fewer workers on the floor, the food wait times are much longer, and customers are often left waiting without updates or assistance. I love dumplings, but to be honest these were pretty disappointing in general. We arrived 45 minutes before closing, so perhaps that negatively impacted the food quality, but it wasn't something I'd recommend. We ordered the cold 5-spice beef which was very well-flavored, a little chewy but I can't ding them on that because I suspect my lack of familiarity with this dish may be relevant! :) But the dumplings I do have familiarity and I did not find these up to snuff. We had the crab & pork soup dumplings, and when they arrived they were dry and a little crunchy on top, really didn't have much soup in them, and the crab flavor was STRONGLY fishy and overwhelmed the other flavors. And they came with no sauce--there was chili oil at the table, but no other sauces. We also had the pan-friend chicken & veggie gyoza, which had that apron of fried dough around them. They were fine, but very average...and the apron of fried dough was interesting in look but unfortunately just tasted of cold oil. Again, no sauce other than the chili oil provided. And lastly we had the pork wontons in chili oil. These were the best thing we ate and they were just fine. They didn't need another sauce. They weren't the best I've had--missing some of that funky sweetness that a good red oil can bring. read more

Our car was parked in the garage connected to the same building, so this seemed like a convenient spot for lunch. The restaurant was moderately busy when we walked in, but they immediately sat us down and gave us an order sheet. [Ambiance] Open, airy, filled with natural light that comes through the many windows that offer a beautiful view of the city. It's also clean, and has a relaxing vibe. My husband and I shared some items. I had the following: * Dumpling soup - delicious and comforting. The broth itself was a little bland, so I used the condiments to add some flavor. * Pan fried chicken dumplings - Crunchy and tasty. * Green onion pancake - this is okay. Went to dough zone last night and ordered an ample amount of food! It was delicious and in a great location. I got the Thia Milk tea which was amazing and very rich in flavor! For appetizers we got the Green Onion Pancakes and Five Spice Beef Shank. The green onion pancakes were very good! I would skip the beef shank next time. It was bland and tasted like dry deli meat. The dumplings and Don Don noodles were the stars of show! The Don Don noodles were amazing as they had a hint of Szechuan seasoning! We also got the cold Szechuan noodles. I liked the Don Don noodles more as I felt they were tastier. We also got the fried wontons and pork wontons, both of which were hot and the meat was well seasoned. We also had the Pork & Crab Meat Xiao, though I didn't really taste any crab meat. The pork buns were the only dish that I was really disappointed in. As they look moist and fresh on the outside, but when u open them up, the inside was very overcooked, making it to be a very dry bun. However, the sauce could not stand up to the bolder taste of the wonton, it was too mild and could use stronger flavors. cucumbers , just were cut cucumbers. No flavor at all. Wanted vinegar and spice, Nothing at all. Hot & sour glass noodles , Ooh, these had a great savory flavor profile. Loved the complex flavors in this dish. I Love a green scallion pancake. Had to get one here. Their version is very good. Lots of scallions. More crispy and thin, than thick. A more mild scallion taste than other pancakes. Beef pancake roll. Nicely done, slightly salty. I went to the Bellevue location a couple of weeks ago and had a great experience so I thought it would be similar at the Harbor Steps spot. I was wrong. Let's start by saying the food tasted great. However all the portions were smaller than the Bellevue location. Especially the spicy wontons in chili sauce, our table literally laughed when they put it on the table as the dish was so small. You walk in and the place was very sleek and modern. We were sat in the corner with all windows around, which made for good lighting. We each picked a different kind of dumpling and also got cucumber salad and split it all. As things arrived, we devoured. We got the pork xiao long bao (Soup dumplings), pan fried pork buns, fried wontons with chili sauce, and pork wontons in hot and sour sauce. My we each two and two loved the soup dumplings best or the wontons in chili sauce. Both were incredible. Great dumplings and came out quick. I wish we had one of these in Denver. I've been to dough zone before but never this location. I was a bit disappointed, considering my good prior experiences. I'll start with the good. The service was very friendly and mostly attended to all our needs. Additionally the xiao long bao and cucumber salad were delicious and definitely my favorite. Unfortunately it seems like quite of few things have changed for worse since the last time I've been. The ginger is now a paste as opposed small julienne sticks. The recipe for the dandan noodles has seemed to change as the sauce was less thick and the mix ins much less noticeable in the overall flavor. What a shame since this used to be my favorite dish. Additionally the bao buns were very deflated, lacking their round and puffy shape. Overall, not a terrible experience, but I expected much better. I would come again to see if this was just one bad experience, but consistent visits like this will lose me as a customer. read more

Fremont beer (local) was reasonably priced fat 7.50 for 16 oz. However, where they FAILED miserably was the service. We ordered in restaurant online, but had to order beer in person. Waiter forgot about oudr beer. When we inquired of the drink prices (no prices on menu), he did not know! He VERY reluctantly agreed to ask the mgr. Perhaps, if we went at a busier time, the service would have been better. We decided to join their Club which one could do there online...but they have NO wifi for the public to use. Automation is one thing, but when it results in disconnects or waiters who are 'barely there,' it is a detriment to the business. read more

Decor is simply and clean. We got seated and placed our order right away. Service was quick and friendly. We got XIAO LONG BAO, SWEET & SOUR CUCUMBER, STEAMED DUMPLINGS and MINCED CHICKEN NOODLES. Both dumplings were tasty and juicy on the inside and seasoned just right. The minced chicken noodles were good but had a stronger vinegar taste than I expect but good.
