We had an awful experience with this company. - They…read moreinstalled a defective furnace in our home that made a loud banging noise (likely a refurbished product). They gaslit us for weeks, saying we were imagining the noise. After multiple follow-ups initiated by us (they didn't want to fix it), they reluctantly admitted they heard the noise and installed the correct furnace. - According to the Town of Madison, Wilcox installed a water heater without obtaining the necessary permit for installation - proof they cut corners to save a few bucks at the expense of safety and compliance. - Upon requesting propane delivery, they delivered the propane to the wrong house (they are so incompetent that they couldn't even remember the house they delivered to), but sent us the bill! They acted like it was no big deal, showing complete disregard for the safe handling of dangerous gases. When they showed up at my house post-error (they assumed it was a gauge issue at first), they inexplicably didn't even bring propane with them to fill up the tank! Despite having "reliability" and a "commitment to customer satisfaction" plastered all over their website, the owner of the company said he "didn't have the authority" to make it right and offer a credit for the hassle and inconvenience. We were gaslit again, saying we were being too hard on them and wanted empathy for the team hustling amidst staffing issues. Based on our experience, this is a sketchy, dishonest and unreliable company despite the empty BS jargon on their website - not to mention their products and services are grossly overpriced compared to their competition. UPDATE BASED ON WILCOX DIATRIBE: In Julie's long-winded diatribe, she admits they installed a furnace that didn't work (even though she comically doesn't think "defective" is a fair word), didn't obtain a water heater permit (either before or after the installation) and delivered propane to the wrong address. She conveniently didn't address someone who claimed to be the "owner of the company" (who really wasn't) not having "authority to make it right," basically admitting their website jargon is complete BS. It would be lovely if Wilcox spent as much time doing their job (which they do very poorly) as they do writing encyclopedias in response to customer reviews. They're so incompetent that they don't even realize that saying "we don't gaslight customers" is gaslighting in its purest form. Lovely company.

I hired them to perform well water testing on a home I am purchasing. While they collected the water samples, they did not submit them to the lab for an entire week. Since the lab requires samples to be submitted within 24 hours, the delay invalidated the results. To cover this up, they falsified the paperwork and recorded the water collection date as 8/29 instead of the actual date, 8/22. As a result, the lab advised me the results could not be trusted, so I had to hire another company to repeat the test at my own expense. The owner and his son provided conflicting and misleading information throughout the process. Initially, they told me the samples were submitted on 8/25. When confronted with evidence from the lab, they claimed they had returned on 8/29 to collect new samples -- which the homeowner and seller's agent confirmed never occurred. Instead of acknowledging their error, they became unresponsive and hostile. Due to their delay and misrepresentation, I missed my inspection contingency window, meaning the seller do not have to address potential water issues. This has caused me unnecessary stress, financial loss, and delays in my home purchase process. Based on my experience, they are reckless, dishonest, unprofessional, and lack integrity and accountability. Save yourself the stress and stay away.

Chuck Sr and Jr were able to CORRECTLY identify the problem, repair my existing well, and install a new pump. The company was responsive and the tech called before he came. We are planning on replacing our heating system and needed enough of a bandaid to get us through the rest of the winter. The tech gave us several options, keeping cost in mind and understanding that we didn't want to pay extra for emergency hours or for overkill on work for a boiler that we'd be replacing in the spring. He properly managed expectations about all different scenarios and then let us decide what we thought was best. We always like to make informed decisions so we really appreciated this. Ultimately, we saved over $600 as we were able to have him do the necessary work and that lasted us until our boiler replacement. Another company would have been glad to charge us the additional $600 for overkill work, especially during emergency hours. Needless to say, now that we are ready to replace the boiler, this is the first company we've called to do our gas conversion. They are not pushy yet extremely knowledgeable and will work with you to suit your needs without thinking about what will benefit them best. We need more honest companies like this in this area and so appreciate all this company stands for.
