Idk if it's cuz I'm from Nor Cal but this has got to be the best burrito I have had. The service was very quick and painless and the atmosphere had authenticity. Most definitely would come back here again during my work trips.

I've been eating taco Rico since I was a kid. My mom used to work in Norwalk and always brought us here. I don't know what they put the in the chicken Cesar salad but it's amazing till this day. I finally visited again recently after moving to Norwalk and had the chicken salad and a torta de asada. They also give you chips and salsa which is a plus. Service has always been great and prices are not crazy. Definitely will be visiting more often.

Decided on Taco Rico to cater a small holiday gathering @ home. I had been here in the past and seemed like something changed ( quality). We ordered a fewest items to try, and decide what to serve. All items were delicious just like old times. We were hosting for 10 people and wanted a good variety. Maria was very helpful w/ recommendations and we decided on Taco Rico Plate, chicken Enchiladas and Cheese Enchiladas, Beans & Rice. Chips & Salsa was provided, along with/ flour & corn tortillas. We decided to have it delivered rather than having to pick up the day of. Everything was delivered on time with a smile, and I couldn't be happier.I would definitely recommend Taco Rico, and will consider for future events.

My favorite Mexican restaurant. I always introduce my friends and family to this place. Probably the most authentic in my opinion. Their chips and salsa are amazing. The service here is always outstanding. It's self order at the counter and seat yourself type of establishment. It's not very big and depending on time this place gets busy. It's fast service. Clean. Average noise. You can't go wrong with anything you order. Any burrito is delicious especially if you get a wet burrito. My all time favorite dish is the El Taco Rico plate. I've had it both with Steak and Chicken. I love everything about it. They have really good beans and rice. They have really good quality food. Flavors are authentic. Highly recommend.

5 foot Burrito (half asada and half carnitas).

This place is a nice gem in the city of Norwalk. I picked up a five foot burrito, taquitos, salsa, guacamole, and chips. This place always hits the spot. The workers are great and always friendly!! It's a nice local spot and always seems to have local customers and is reasonably priced.

I was recommended this place by a friend a while ago, and the time to come here finally came. I ended up ordering the wet burrito with asada and horchata. Overall, my food was alright, nothing too special. I just moved in the area and this restaurant is nearby so I do plan on coming back in the future, probably to try their breakfast items.

The items are prepared fresh. They also allow dietary modifications, just in case your allergic or have other issues. The venue is quaint and the service is quite hospitable. Oh, if your vegetarian, don't be afraid, they have you covered.

Doing laundry and my go to Mexican mom and pop a couple of doors down. Ordered 1 carne asada burrito my daughter says it was really good. I had a El Pastor wet burrito. Good as always El Pastor moist not dry and sauce was great. Always smells great when I walk in the ladies at the counter are always so friendly and bilingual since I don't speak fluent Spanish.

My coworkers and I have been coming here for over 10 years. Although we miss some of the old team members, we are still very happy with the cleanliness of the restaurant, the employees are always friendly, and the food is still very good!

If you're looking for good enchiladas you gotta try these. Just as good or better than los compadres and acapulco enchiladas.

A weekend brunch with friends brought me to Madre's Whittier, where the menu offered plenty of tempting options--and a few unexpected lessons about ordering seafood. I tried the Ensenada Omelet, loaded with shrimp, salmon, crab, and octopus. Now, I'm a seafood lover, but octopus and I aren't exactly close friends. I asked if it could be removed, but since the seafood mix is pre-made, the octopus had already RSVP'd to the party. The omelet was good, topped with a creamy sauce, but not something I'd order again. The crab appeared to be imitation crab, and while everything was prepared well, it just wasn't a standout for me. The real star? The strawberry pancakes. Delicious! Next time, I'd order those with a side of eggs and call it a win. I also sampled the chilaquiles, and now that's a dish I'd come back for. The Tiramisu Latte was another favorite--not overly sweet and packed with that classic tiramisu flavor I love. A special shoutout to our waitress, Annie, who was attentive, friendly, and made our brunch experience even better. My Verdict: Skip the Ensenada Omelet and build your brunch around the stars of the menu instead. The strawberry pancakes are the must-order item, the chilaquiles are a strong savory choice, and the Tiramisu Latte ties everything together. If you order wisely, Madre's delivers a brunch worth coming back for.

Once we were ready she had our table already prepared. We have to order inside first before you can be seated. Once seated our food came out not too long after. Everything looked and tasted delicious! We ordered the chilaquiles verde, short rib omelette, tropical pancakes (seasonal), and the mango curd french toast (seasonal). The chilaquiles verde was savory and tangy. It wasn't soggy at all and definitely one of my favorite dishes. The short rib omelette was savory but didn't give me any wow factor compared to the other dishes I ordered. The tropical pancakes were so pretty. I only tried a piece of it without the syrup which I think was a mistake because the kumquat syrup was my friend's favorite. I definitely need to try it again with the syrup. Best for last, mango curd French toast was my favorite! I fell in love with sweetness and tanginess of the mango curd. The French toast was soft and you can taste the butter. I wish it was a main menu item. I'll definitely be sad to see it go. They have lots of seating inside and outside.

The moment I took my first bite, I immediately noticed that the ricotta tasted sour and spoiled. I drove back to the restaurant to request a refund. Unfortunately, my refund was not honored because the manager, Aimee, was not present. Karely, the lead on duty, seemed unsure of how to handle the situation and attempted to explain that the sour taste was simply the lemon in the ricotta. That explanation was disappointing because there is a clear difference between the intended lemon flavor and the taste of spoiled dairy. What upset me most was the lack of concern, apology, or effort to make the situation right. As a customer, I expected the issue to be taken seriously, especially when food safety is involved. If a manager is unavailable, staff should be properly trained and empowered to handle customer concerns appropriately. I am currently four months pregnant, which made this experience even more concerning. I wasted my time, gas, and energy driving back to the restaurant, only to leave without a refund or any resolution. This was by far the worst experience I have had at a restaurant in Downey, and unfortunately, I will not be returning.
