What a kitschy place! Not far from Brave Church Colorado Springs, my son and I wanted a little brunch bite after service and before I headed back home. It was fairly busy which is a good sign for a little restaurant. The menu had a small selection but we both settled on the Simple breakfast sandwich. I discovered that butter browns are their version of hash browns. They are freshly made every day and are fabulous! The sandwich was super fresh and tasty. The bread soft and buttery, the bacon thick and yummy, eggs fluffy and a slice of cheddar cheese really perfected the meal. I would love to try other items on their menu!

This is the second time we've visited this establishment. For a Sunday morning, the restaurant was considerably busy, but we were still seated right away. I ordered the basic breakfast with two eggs, butter browns, and a biscuit. Their homemade strawberry and blueberry jams were delicious with the biscuit! Everything was cooked well, except I didn't care too much for how they toasted my biscuit. Looks like it was toasted on the griddle which made it really hard and crunchy. My husband ordered the Clint omelette. He enjoyed it, but said his hashbrowns could've been cooked longer. I guess it's all about preference, because I thought mine were cooked perfectly. My kids had the Wimpy Papas with carne asada and scrambled egg. It was a very large portion for a child's entree and my kids really enjoyed it. We enjoyed our visit. The service was great and everyone was friendly. I would say, the prices have increased quite a bit since our last visit, but overall, still pretty reasonable. Looking forward to returning and trying other things on the menu.

We always have breakfast near where we donate blood (Vitalent) and Doug's is great and very close. They open at 7 am (ignore the painted info on the windows) and the owner and her husband are often there, cooking and serving, respectively. We've returned several times and tried a selection of their menu. My husband usually gets breakfast (Huevos Rancheros or and omelet). And he absolutely LOVES the beans. I usually avoid eggs, so I've tried the stacked enchiladas (excellent), the Legend Burger (also great), and one of their Senior Breakfasts. I had the #2, which was a large pancake with bacon and syrup for only $6!! Both the breakfast and lunch offerings are excellent. Try them out!

What an amazing breakfast. Even though I'm writing this a couple of weeks later. This place will have a great memory to it. I believe our server was Vicki who I believe owned the business and was pretty amazing. We talked about her living previously near Seattle. What a wonderful conversationalist with her past and relating it to us. The portions of the food were amazing and the price was 100% reasonable . I would recommend this place 10 out of 10 times. Great price, comfortability, and vibe of this place. Highly recommend checking this place out.

We shared both dishes. The Reuben had huge slices of corned beef and plenty of melty cheese and sauce. It was hard to get the spicy of the green chili but it did hit here and there. It's a delicious mess! The fries were pillowy and crispy. We brought them home to warm in the air fryer. The Sharon omelet was the hit! So many veggies! The guac was on one end and the sour cream on the other end before we realized to mix them. Great omelet though! The hash browns were lacking a bit in seasoning but the texture was spot on! Malissa was so nice and made sure everything was to our satisfaction! The place is kinda tucked in and cozy.

My daughter and I went here for breakfast around 10 this morning I had the huevos rancheros with vegetarian green chili, potatoes and beans. All was really good and the beans are more of a ranch style. My daughter got a vegetarian quesadilla with green chili on top. Both of us would definitely order again! The portions are pretty large. We also ordered a pancake because we were craving and it covered the whole large plate. Needless to say, take home boxes were needed. Haley kept the coffee filled and was appropriately attentive. Kudos to her and the cook! The check was a little over $40 for the 2 of us, which tracks with the quality and amount of food. Thank you Doug's!

Lately we've just been trying to support local Small businesses and it gives us a chance to try new places. This place was near my husbands barber shop and we hadn't eaten so thought we'd stop by. Total little gem! The food was yummy and our waitress which sadly I missed her name was amazing! We sat there as she greeted people, sat people, and served people all while staying so pleasant. This is a casual little diner in a strip mall so maybe that's why we never noticed it but it is a place we'd gladly return too!

Well this place was just okay. Service was good. The ladies were on their game. Not too much of a view/ or ambience. The food was just okay. Average. The hillbilly was greasy but like I said just okay. Very friendly though. Their in house jelly was great too.

I have been on the search for a breakfast place I love as much as a diner where my family and I always go when I'm home in Ohio (Delaney's Diner). I told my husband after eating here that I think I've finally found it! Service was great. Food even better! I got the Chimayo ($13) which is mushrooms, bacon, hash browns, green chili and sour cream with scrambled eggs and a side of cottage cheese and sourdough bread. Everything was delicious and filling and can't wait to try more off the menu!

They offer a lot of customization options for burgers, buns, toppings, and fries, which was nice to see. After ordering, you're given a number and can choose indoor or outdoor seating. Unfortunately, the biggest issue was the temperature inside. It was extremely hot and uncomfortable. We asked twice if a window could be opened to help circulate air, and although it seemed like staff acknowledged the request, nothing was done. Eventually, we opened the window ourselves, and nearby customers thanked us because they were feeling the same way. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time, but the food itself was disappointing. The burgers were just okay, and I only ended up eating about half of mine. The fries were very greasy, soggy, and tasted like they had been sitting in oil too long. They do make their own ketchup, which was decent, but the ranch was watered down, and I wasn't a fan of the house sauce either. The restaurant is fairly small inside, so seating can feel tight, especially for larger groups. While I appreciate the variety of menu options and the indoor/outdoor seating, the overall experience wasn't enjoyable enough for us to return the next time we're in town.

Snag some street parking in Downtown Colorado Springs across from Acacia Park and mozy on into the Diners, Drive Ins and Dives favorite, Skirted Heifer. I remember watching their episode 10 years ago. I didn't even live in Colorado back then! Their claim to fame is the iconic cheese "skirt" on their burgers. The way they melt the cheese, you get this funky crispy cheesy entity around the burger resembling a skirt. On this visit, I kept it simple with the Pueblo Farmer and fries. Pueblo Farmer ($12.25) // Grass-fed beef, pueblo chilies, pepper jack cheese, & homemade guacamole on our sesame seed bun. Beefy, spicy, creamy, a perfectly balanced burger. I didn't get it skirted (I honestly was so tired from driving that I forgot), but I wouldn't change much about this burger. Damn tasty! Burgers don't come with fries so I added those on. These are thin and salty. Even though the fries are extra, they have a little sauce bar with their ketchup, ranch, and Heifer sauce to accompany it. The sauces were all great and tasted homemade! Honestly, just wish there was more seating as it's usually crowded. They do have a few outdoor stools, but it does get chilly when the sun is down. If it's good enough for Guy (Fieri...duh) it's good enough for me!

Attentive and understanding of our issues. So let the story begin.... I peddled down to the area of Bubba's and my daughter suggested we ear there (wife, daughter and I). Sounded good. We went, we were sat our server took our drink order promptly, brought them and we ordered food. Our daughter ordered the kids, macaroni and cheese, wife ordered cheese pizza. I ordered the Reuben. When they came out, my Reuben sandwich was piping hot. That was the only thing that was acceptable. Our daughter's mac & cheese was lukewarm at best along with the fries that came with it. My wife's cheese pizza was the same. It almost seemed like the other orders were made, and sitting under a "warming bin" for a while till my Reuben came out. Once the Reuben was done, everything was delivered. Oh, and my fries were also unacceptable. I caught somebody asked for our server or a manager ... manager came by. I explained the story she said I'll get that taken care of. I was maybe halfway through my Reuben and the new pizza and new mac & cheese and french fries came out. It was all hot and fine. Then came the bill. The bill had two orders of pizza and two orders of mac & cheese, which I guess if they had to do it that way makes sense because there was a second pizza ordered in a second mac & cheese ordered. And then there was a credit for the second pizza and mac & cheese. Nothing more. I kind of expected some kind of ok the kitchen messed up let me charge half price on the new pizza and mac & cheese or something like that, but nothing. Our server came by I said let me talk to the manager. Manager came I explained my thoughts.. first thing she said was well you get to take the pizza home. And in a sense she was right the cold pizza that first came we boxed stuff cause I can always throw it in the oven at home. But I did not order pizzas to go. I ordered a pizza to be eaten at the restaurant. That struck a really poor cord with me. A manager should not be making excuses and not saying well yeah we gave it to you cold but you could take it home and heat it up. She did finally say what do you want me to do I said well take the pizza off. I'll pay for the mac & cheese and I'll call it even, turns out she redid our bill so that it had the original just one Reuben one pizza one mac & cheese, and gave me a credit for the pizza and the mac & cheese so that was better. BUT, I should never have to argue with a manager on something that was a kitchen fail. So the kitchen fail would've been the one star had the manager made things right at the beginning, I would've bumped it to three stars being that I had to argue with manager two stars. There's my story help it helps...
