1 Star I had a truly terrible experience with both Fidelity National Home Warranty and Dove Air Conditioning Inc. after being referred to them for my HVAC issues in Riverside County. I did not choose this HVAC company, and I would never recommend them to anyone. It took an astounding almost 3 weeks for my HVAC to be repaired, and all Fidelity could tell me was that Dove Air Conditioning, a small husband-and-wife business located in Cathedral City, was the only option available in the entire Coachella Valley. This is absolutely pathetic. FYI - HVAC still not blowing cold Air !!! From the start, Linda, who answers the phone, was incredibly rude. Her husband Gary, the technician, seems past his prime and should consider retirement. After nearly three weeks of waiting, my AC still isn't working, forcing me to hire a different company to fix what Dove Air Conditioning couldn't. In nearly 40 years of owning homes, I have never encountered such incompetence and poor customer service. Dove Air Conditioning issued me an invoice for $545, yet my AC is still non-functional. Now they claim there's another problem! Unbelievable. I would never recommend Fidelity National Home Warranty or Dove Air Conditioning Inc. to anyone. Stay far away from both companies. My Realtor with Compass Realty led me to Fidelity National Home Warranty Company. I will be contacting my realtor tomorrow and let them know the nonsense that I've experienced with Fidelity national home warranty and Dove Air conditioning Inc. located in Cathedral city California.. She was uncooperative and withheld essential information from both me and my property manager. When I inquired about the paperwork and the expected timeline, Linda responded with an unpleasant attitude, which was both unexpected and frustrating. She claimed that no other clients had ever been upset over such matters, a statement I found hard to believe. Had Linda provided clear explanations from the outset, much of this confusion and frustration could have been avoided. Instead, after the job was completed, she became unresponsive, leaving us without guidance for over a month. Given this experience, I would advise against using Dove Air, especially if you're proceeding through an insurance company. If you have the option, consider requesting a different service provider. Direct dealings with them might yield better results, but in my case, Linda's rudeness and lack of assistance were significant deterrents. Both my property manager, who has over 30 years of experience in the desert area, and our HOA have deemed this behavior unacceptable. In summary, Dove Air did not meet the expected standards of professionalism and customer service. I recommend seeking alternative HVAC service providers who prioritize clear communication and customer satisfaction. DOVE AIR WAS given the work order on Father's Day and at 8am on Monday Linda from the office called and told me that a technician would be there between 10 and 11am Gary the owner arrived at 10:15 AM and diagnosed the problem as a bad compressor. The compressor was still under warranty he arrived Thursday put the new compressor in and everything is working.I wish I had Gary's drive at 70 years old.The husband and wife were very professional and Gary new what he was doing. Great Service! We appreciate it so much. Saturday AM, called Fidelity Home Warranty (30 min telephone hold ) made a rush order because the A/C was blowing warm and it's 114 out there! Dove Air "Linda" called and set up the appointment to help us. Gary came out and diagnosed the Freon leak in the line, worked in the HOT sun, restored A/C in the home, explaining patiently everything. New spring season and first truly HOT day in the desert. My A/C unit didn't kick in as it should! Contacted my home warranty service at 6:30 am. Linda called me at 8:30 am and made an appointment around my schedule for that afternoon. Gary arrived at 4:45 pm and patiently worked well past 6:00 to correct the problem. He thoroughly diagnosed the problem, replacing the thermostat, replacing popped fuses, a circuit and adding freon. He was friendly, encouraging and kind, remembering my situation from when he was last out in December of 2020. His day was still not over! The home warranty company assigned a different company who could not come until Monday. After a couple of calls (another story) the home warranty company assigned Dove Air. Within 10 minutes Linda called and correctly diagnosed the problem over the phone. 20 minutes later Gary showed up and took care of the problem. On a Saturday!!! I sold my condo and the new buyer had a flood onto the carpeting from the condenser inside the closet because this company failed to install a proper condensation line to the outside and then they lied to the buyer to make me look bad by saying they "told me" that they were not installing one. Let me tell you HOW HORRIBLE they are. 1. Its a Husband & Wife team 2. They are 65+ Years old, and extremely old school and rude. 3. The Wife, that answers all the calls may have alzheimers 4. The Husband, literally TALKS too much instead of doing his job. One of the laziest and worthless AC Technicians I have ever met. 5. They are so lazy. 100% of their business comes from Home Warranty Claims. Here is what happened. Home Warranty Assigned them to one of my properties. They come out, he talks the entire time, very lazy and then leaves. He informs Warranty company of issues. I ask him for a report of what he saw, he told me blah blah blah, but warranty wont cover it. I call warranty, they declined it. I then send them home inspection report. They realize it IS and SHOULD be covered, they then approve it. Dove air is called on 22nd and told to move fwd with repair. I call on the 23rd, the old wife who answers the calls, said she never heard. I have them RE CALL her, they do, they tell her AGAIN on the 23rd. After 7 Days, THEY NEVER COME TO FIX, NEVER CALL ME TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT. I call, 7 days later, she then tells me it was never approved. Apparently, GARY the husband, calls back to home warranty making excuses why it should not be covered etc.. and then gets home warranty company to retract the approval. I even ask him for a bid of what it would cost to fix, he doesn't even respond Him and his wife are some of the oldest school, most unprofessional company I have ever worked with in my entire life. They still use a pager. I have over 8 properties, and have never experienced such a poor business venture. I strongly hope they fail, go out of business, and they just need to retire. I will make it clear to all home warranty companies to audit their process and tactics. This is one of the worst companies. Stay far away. read more

Gary replaced the parts on our Goodman Furnace/AC and he made sure we did not have to pay for the parts because they were under manufacturers warranty. We recommend Dove Air. Ok! So I am a former business owner in Los Angeles that moved to the desert to relax.. Unfortunately I know the feeling of having YELP be a big concern for my business.. I just bought a home in Palm Desert and as soon as I moved in the upstairs AC went out.. I called Fidelity and they told me Dove air was coming out.. I checked their yelp reviews and was not pleased that these folks were chosen.. Then I got a call from Linda (who everyone complains about on yelp but she was and continued to be very polite and factual with me) saying Gary would be here between 4-8. the day after I called. I was thrilled, It's still hot out and I imagine AC's are going out all over the valley. Regardless he got here on time and got my upstairs unit working but that day the downstairs unit went out.. So he diagnosed the problem and just got through fixing it today as promised.. He was considerate and nice and got the Job done. I mentioned to him I was pleased with his service and was going to write a review. He told me he does over a 1000 warrantee calls a year ( as I am sure other AC companies do as wel) I can tell you from my perspective as a former 30 year businessman a lot of these bad reviews must be winers. Keep in mind that happy customers aren't very likely to YELP, they say they will but forget.. My home warranty work order was (unfortunately) assigned to Dove AIr. I tried to point out to the technician that my furnace was making a squeaking noise every time it started up. Rather than listening carefully, he simply decided to replace the blower motor. After he installed the new motor, I noticed that the furnace was still making the same noise. When I pointed this out to him, he refused to do anything more about it and immediately packed up his tools to leave. The $60 I paid (required by Old Republic for a service call) was just like throwing money away. No resolution of the problem by Old Republic either. It's amazing companies like these are allowed to operate. They should be indicted for fraud. Stay away from Dove Air and Old Republic. read more

Two comments: First, Dove Air declined my claim(which I understand is out of their control because Fidelity has the final say), but another provider came to my house and said it was misdiagnosed. They fixed the problem without taking a deductible since Dove Air was paid $65. Second, my check was from October and it was deposited this week. Crazy. It's unfortunate that a company can misdiagnose the problem and still get paid for doing no work. A bigger problem is they can keep their average cost per call down by doing this and get more work from the insurance company. Running my own business in the desert makes me feel sorry for homeowners who use their service. When I called to discuss why my check took over four months to cash, her response was to add conflict to the matter instead of a simple apology. She said they just got around to it. Just bought our home here in Rancho Mirage. The AC stopped working in the middle or the day during a heat wave & I called our warranty company. They quickly filed a claim & gave me a work order & told me to call Dove Air. Called & spoke to Linda. Wow was she horrible!!! Rude & nasty. I tried to explain that I understood she needed a work order, but I was told to call her, from my claims rep at the warranty company. She said, "I know my job, you will be contacted when we get a work order." Her response was so rude, I asked her if I should get help somewhere else, since I'd already, obviously pissed her off for some reason. Two days later, she called me back. If I had had to wait for them, my 3 dogs & I would have been dead in my house, as it was 115 degrees outside. Her absolute rudeness, was astounding. We have a home warranty and this is the company we were given when our AC failed on a 108 degree day. We are both disabled and needed immediate help. I called and left an urgent message, left 3 pager pings - and NOTHING. I tried calling back a few minutes later only to get a busy signal that lasted for about 30 minutes. When I got through, the woman answering was a perfect RUDE HORROR.
