Hello, I called today in an attempt to save your business more annoyed customers. Google, Yelp and other search engines direct customers to your Facebook page for your menu. The prices on your Facebook are substantially different than the prices I paid for carry out. What should have been an order for $16.80 was over $30! I called today just to let your restaurant know the menu on the fb isn't updated and the hostess said it was under new management. She very rudely told me that I'm looking at the wrong Facebook. (I've since searched and still can't find another DRC on FB ‍) I thought the quality of our food was very good but I was shocked at the total when I had already priced it out beforehand based on the menu prices and it was nearly double at checkout! This place is great! The staff are very attentive, and the prices are unbeatable. Our food came out incredibly quickly as well! We ordered breakfast, and the hash browns were perfectly hearty and crispy. The eggs were cooked well, which is always a nice surprise at a coney. They also offered a variety of bread choices and hot sauces. The blueberry pancakes were fluffy and HUGE, even though we ordered the half order. The inside of the restaurant is nice as well. It feels cozy and updated, with corrugated metal accents and several TVs. The booths were a good size and comfortable. Thought the building is small, there are tables to accommodate larger parties. There's also a nice counter to sit at in the front of the restaurant. There's lots of natural light, and they had decorated nicely for the holidays. Let me first preface by saying this review is written after only one visit. However, it was an exceptional visit for a Coney Island. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted warmly and told to pick a place. We picked a booth right by the window because my son loves to watch the cars on Eureka Rd. Menus, water and a booster seat were promptly brought, as were the daily specials, by a very cheerful, friendly while still helpful waitress. I got the fish and chips, which came with average fries and a DELICIOUS "chicken gumbo" soup. The fish and hips were above average, which is saying something for a Coney Island around these parts. An order of mozz sticks was just reheated frozen sticks, but my 2 year old didn't seem to mind. Food came out FAST and HOT, also a good sign. I have been going to this place for a LONG time. Recently we have noticed a difference in the food we asked if it was a different cook. We were told yes it was. We were also told it was being ran under different management. Ok. Well when I placed my take out order tonight I asked for chili cheese fries with SHREDDED cheese....... I go to pick up my order drive all the way home to find out that's NOT what I got. The cook decided to put squeezed cheese on it. He even knew he made them wrong THINKING I would just eat that... ummm no that's not what I ordered. I asked for a refund. I will not be going back EVER I will drive 2 cities over if I want chili cheese fries with Shredded cheese. That was nasty to look at let alone try to eat it. This is my favorite coney island, which hey, everyone around has their personal favorite. I've been going here routinely since high school to the point I like to think I'm considered a regular. It's come to the point among my friends where a normal 'what are we going to get for breakfast/lunch/dinner' conversation usually ends in: "DRC?" "Uh, yeah? Is that really a question?" We typically get breakfast here and we've never been disappointed. The food is cheap and awesome, if not a little greasy, but that sort of adds to the charm of it. It's always ready very quickly so we never have to wait very long. Add-ons are just as cheap and always in good portions. If you order a breakfast combo, be prepared to get a plate the size of your head. The dinners here are pretty good as well. I haven't had very many of them, but from what I have had and heard from other people, they're delicious. The soups are ALL good. I haven't had a bad soup here and I've had nearly all of them. The lemon rice soup in particular is probably one of the best. Even if you're not in the mood to sit in and eat, ordering out is doable and the food tastes just as good. It's never soggy and it's always tasted very close to the way it tastes in the restaurant. Going late at night is a pretty cool experience. I've got at 2 AM before and it was hilarious. You get all kinds there at that hour, and the quality is still ace. Just be prepared to dine with cops, graveyard shift workers, insomniacs, and late night philosophers. The mood is very lax around that time and everyone's more willing to chat and joke with you. The service is good, the waitresses and workers are all super nice, and sometimes you get free dessert which is a huge plus. For what you're paying, it's worth it. read more

The food here is passable but not memorable. They serve a decent breakfast and the open faced sandwiches are generally good and filling. The coney dogs are ok at best. I go elsewhere for coneys. The real attraction here is the floor show in the wee hours. It is a pretty wild crowd who comes in here so anything and everything can happen and usually does. One night I looked up from my menu only to see a diner 2 booths away shouting expletives at me. Another night a hooker wandered in, unusual for Southgate but she propositioned several customers so it was fairly obvious. My wife and I use to go here once in a while back in 2011-2012.. the food was less than average and was getting worse. It finally got to the point where we agreed that it stunk... By some fortune my wife went there early 2014 and said that they have new owners and perhaps we should give it another shot...
