The Big Easy Burger
Teira R.

Upon taking my seat at the bar, there was no acknowledgment, no greeting, no menu brought, no "What are you having to drink?" Nothing, I just sat for maybe 10 minutes without being acknowledged at all. I asked a worker for a menu and she gave it to me. After glancing over and finding something I wanted, I waited for the worker to come back. She went behind the bar and never came back to my end. I asked another worker if it was ok for me to order with him. He said yes, I ordered and he asked if I wanted anything to drink. I said sure I'll order it separately from the food, and I'll take some water to sip on while I decide. He went on to say something along the lines of "well you can order your drink right here, it's a bar. Bars where drinks are ordered. -_-" I intended on paying cash but he asked for a card. Ok, maybe they are used to keeping tabs open from past experiences. He took my card and never returned it. I decided I no longer wanted the drink and just sipped the water. When it was time to pay I pulled my cash out and the bartender tells me that my $15 burger is $20 and some change total. I asked how is that possible and is there automatic gratuity? He looked confused (playing it off I'm sure) and I told him even with taxes that amount would be incorrect. He went on to talk to someone behind the bar, then came back and gave me the actual amount of $16 and some change. He said he gave me his employee discount, which was obviously not true because with taxes, that is the amount the meal would have come to. I still tipped him a lousy $2 for effort. I truly feel I was judged when I sat at that bar, despite carrying an almost $200 purse. Or was it my race?? Who knows, smh.... Also, a tip to anyone ordering the Big Easy. It has hot sausage mixed in so make sure to order it well done. I ordered medium well and had to put it in the air fryer at home. You can consume hot sausage not fully cooked, but I definitely do not advise you to do so. It was pretty good and the sweet potato fries were pretty good also. But, not worth returning. In all, I DO NOT recommend this spot to anyone, unless you know someone working here or someone that is a regular.

Mai tai!

Great open bar and eatery on Front Street. This was our first stop after getting into town and it did not disapoint. The list of craft cocktails (Mai Tai's!) is beyond incredible. Got the fish fry where the menus says "local catch". It was mahi-mahi the night we were there and incredible. Live music plays even in the mornings. This is one of those must stops when in Lahaina.

Basic mainstream pub. The food was ok when it finally arrived, but bad pounding hard rock from the 80s was hard to listen to.

Fun and friendly staff. Good place for a drink and food. I would recommend the nachos and pulled pork sandwich.

Nice people but the food was marginal at best. If you are drinking yes but if you want to eat I would go someplace else.

The service was terrible. They didn't come back to the table to check if everything was OK or refill drinks. The food was just ok.

Swanky and fun. Located within the Roosevelt hotel, this cool bar has lots of rich history (that…read moreyou can read about while there). Whether sitting at the bar, or in one of the many lounge chairs on the opposite wall, every seat is an excellent. While I knew of the drink French 75, on the bar menu it was offered with either gin or cognac. I decided to try the cognac and so glad I did. Perfectly delicious! It turns out that drink is actually a French 125, so I learned something new that night. Great spot with a great vibe.

The Sazerac Bar at the The Roosevelt New Orleans prepares an outstanding Sazerac cocktail, as you…read morewould expect. While the Sazerac wasn't invented here, this is arguably its most iconic home, a place where New Orleans cocktail history comes to life. I would use this version as your gold standard when dining out in New Orleans and looking for a perfect Sazerac. We enjoyed watching bartender Rachel craft each drink. Rye whiskey, Peychaud's Bitters, and sugar are stirred in a small pitcher with ice. The serving glass is chilled, then emptied, and finished with an absinthe rinse along the rim. The cocktail is strained into the glass and topped with a lemon peel. The atmosphere makes the experience even better. The murals, the history, and the energy of the room give it a sense of occasion that you do not get at most bars. We had such a great time sitting at the bar that my wife and I each finished two and a half Sazeracs, which tells you everything you need to know.
