This place is a waste of time I don't recommend you take your car to service here. They seem to BS you to check things. My A.C was not working I told the mechanic for second time and he said I checked it it's working fine. But I went to a different mechanic and he told me what the issue was, all i needed them to check it the right way I'm paying extra every month for my warranty for what? if they are not doing their job right it seems that all they do is just walk around the car and check the list only with out checking it right because they were suppose to rotate my tires and when I got a flat tire the mechanic did it for me because the Dealer did it when they were suppose to. The guy seemed to get upset and asked me to leave my car for 2 days, which i think its really ridiculous 2 days for the A.C? So I TOOK IT TO GLENDALE NISSAN AND MY CAR WAS READY IN 2 HOURS AND THEY RESPECTED MY WARRANTY AND DID CHARGE ME AS THEY WANTED TO DO CHARGE ME HERE. Ricky Avelar from Nissan of Downey, I am really disappointed in your lack of customer service and the time frame you provide to get back at your future customers.  I spoke originally to Blanca from sales and she seemed excited in wanting to help my family and myself. She advised that she would forward this deal to someone that would help us. After waiting hours and leaving you messages to call back to advise whether or not this deal would go through, I was advised by your receptionist that you were gone for the day. Great. So after hours, and an application hanging in midair.. no one there was aware of who we were and what we were waiting for. After waiting for you, a Manager of such a big corporation, to call us back to give us a simple yes or no. Nothing. No results.No call. And.. not just did we not get a call.  We were treated with the utmost disrespect from the receptionist in the evening and the Indian accent speaking sales representative who picked up the call and surely let us know that we were not of importance to him nor Nissan. He first didn't want to help us as he said we are not his current customers so why would he help??!!!  Wow.! I asked him for his name and the name if the receptionist and he concluded with why should I give you our names since your going to complain. I told him why would I want to be customers of yours if that's the kind of service you provide. No remorse to his actions he ended the call. I understand we may not be quality customers with immaculate credit. But, we are human beings and possible customers. We were driven to go to you after watching a commercial advising that you help EVERYONE. No credit, bad credit, etc. I can't imagine the owner of your facility to be aware of what kind of people represent his business and be okay with it.  I will be forwarding this email to corporate, yelp, fb, and any media available to the "customer".  I believe that just this email to you alone will not correct the bad taste you have left on us. Always bring my Pathfinder and Maxima here for service It's a bit further away than Cerritos Nissan, but I think the mechanics and service team here are better and a whole lot more HONEST, which makes it worth the drive. they normally only service what is needed and don't come up with "all" these problems they "find" that require attention prices are reasonable here even though it is a dealership they send you offers in mail too, so you can save on service small waiting area with one TV and a free coffee machine for customers not a whole lot more to say about Downey Nissan, just decent, clean, reasonable dealership worth doing business with read more

I started my search looking for a Nissan Leaf S lease online and contacted 6 different Nissan dealerships in the LA area. Based on the responses, I can say that Jason De La Torre was not only helpful and responsive during our calls and texts leading up to my appointment, but he actually backed up everything he said when we got to the dealership in person. My husband and I were prepared to be disappointed if there were some last minute changes to our estimate, but Jason was great! He was honest and straight forward and made the process seamless! I will say it was not a quick process, but when is getting a new car ever a quick process? Even though each step took a pretty substantial amount of time, he made sure to check in with us while we waited to let us know that things were still progressing. He also answered all of our questions and he made sure to charge the car as much as possible while we waited. Jason's manager, JJ (JanJosef Anglo) came out to introduce himself as well and he was very friendly. Juan Lugo was the last person to help us in the process and we did the actual paper work with him. He was very informative and explained to us the things that would be beneficial for our situation in particular. I purchased a 2014 Nissan Sentra SV from Universal Nissan in May. I also bought the maintenance package. Oil changes are recommended every 3,750 miles and can be done at ANY Nissan dealership. I called Downey Nissan at 10:30am on a Thursday. The person in service said they had an opening at 11:30am and would take 1.5 hours because the service comes with an oil change. I was there at 11:15 and out by 1:10pm. Their service department was professional and their wait room was clean. They have snack machines, water with paper cups and restrooms. My "car wash" was basically a rinse. My windows were still very dirty and so was my interior. What took so long?! 3 stars for the professional staff. read more

Let me start by saying that Cesar Paniagua is the best!! After totaling our car we were in a rush to try and find a new family SUV. We had previously stopped by the Downey Toyota dealership and after wasting our time talking to a rude sales person there we decided to give Nissan a try . Cesar helped us get a great deal and was by far the most helpful and informative car sales person I've ever talked to. Aug 2018 our Nissan Murano which had run 108K, stalled suddenly on I-5 freeway one evening. Called AAA and looked for a good Nissan dealer nearby. Downey Nissan had good reviews and we had Murano towed there. Met by Steve Saenz from service dept, he took the vehicle in and asked us some time for diagnosis. as per initial instincts it was an Alternator issue. They found other defects during multi-point inspection, incl a main hose that was torn (another dealer had missed). We left the car with them few days since they had to order parts from central. Couldn't be happier - they are V busy given their location and reputation, but have always been very nice to us, and work maintained excellent. Since then have visited them for other maintenance/repairs etc, highly recommend! read more

In the past, when I've thought about taking my car to the dealer for service, I'd freak out! Dealerships usually keep your car longer then expected, are not concerned with how you will get around without your car, etc... My Nissan was having transmission issues and since i still had warrenty i figured this is the one tine i would HAVE to go to the dealership. From the MOMENT I pulled up my experience was AMAZING. Ricardo was polite, had patience while I asked a million questions and really put me at ease. My next concern was how will I get to work while they have my car??? I was given a rental. This made me completely appreciate Downey Nissan. After I got my car back, Ricardo called to make sure it was running smoothly. Great service guys! I will be back soon for tires! read more

Updating to remove a star. I have been trying to get a cargo cover since I bought the car on April 7th. Between waiting for it to arrive, and waiting for return phone calls to confirm it's there and I can pick it up (the service department needs to be open) I STILL don't have it. I called multiple times Friday and Saturday, and did not receive a return call. By the last follow up call on Saturday, the service department was closed again. It's bad enough that I wasn't told until after I purchased the car that the cargo cover was extra (ridiculous considering I bought the PLATINUM vehicle) and I have to drive back to Downey to pick it up, the lack of follow up now that I bought the car is disheartening to say the least. I am not willing to give the star back, but I will again compliment Jason Holk for outstanding service. The "manager" (Martha was her name if I remember correctly) told me I could pick up the cover on a Monday, anytime before 7 when the service dept. closes. I arrived at approximately 6:30, only to find that service closes at 6. I waited in the lobby area for about ten minutes while someone supposedly went to get her. I never saw her, but Jason saw me waiting and completely stepped up, found a cover, and installed it in the car for me! He is fabulous, and the only person that I had contact with that was always honest and accurate, and followed up in his word. He is a gem! read more

Very disappointed with this place. I've been coming here for years after the location near my town closed. I made an appointment because the battery light came on and I wanted 'expert' advice on the issue. I came in and was greeted by Andres Padilla and I told him about my car acting up. He told me, he was going to have the technician take a look at it and to give him 45 minutes. After 45 minutes, he told me to give him another twenty minutes, since they were busy with other cars. Fine (even though I had an appointment) after two hours, he told me that the battery was good and showed me a piece of paper that said that the battery was 'good' and said it was healthy.. that's odd. So I asked him why was the car acting sluggish and the headlights dim--when they are on, he said that he didn't know, but if I wanted a further inspection I should make another appointment since they were extremely busy. Okay. I checked out and took my car home when the light came on again. The following morning, my car died in the middle of a busy intersection and it had to get towed, because turns out the entire time it was the car's alternator! Wow. You would think that Downey Nissan's service department could've done their part and checked the car's alternator. If the man of the towing service used a simple gadget to check, why didn't Downey Nissan do the same thing? Instead, I was told that I should come back because they were super busy--that is pure negligence because I trusted their advice and put my life in danger. You would think that being the 'professionals', you would have done the job and inspected the car thoroughly and come to the conclusion that it was the car's alternator. Even though I had an appointment and waited two hours, I was not helped. This shows, what kind of business you are dealing with. They have lost a good customer and I do not recommend any of their services. read more

This place was dishonest. The sales manager told us a price over the phone and when we came down she gave us a totally different price. I was purchasing used car which she was using. It bother me because this was suppose to be a CPO. Also this dealership advertised the car for 3000 miles less than the actual miles which I assume because this sales manager has been using it for a while. This is another dishonest information. And when I told her to lower the price for that she said no. This dealership work ethics does not come up to par. Why would they present a car to me to buy when this sales manager have all her junk in the car. Another thing I was turned off by. We were looking for a used car and a good deal and he was able to help us. This stealership is beyond horrible. Brought my 2017 Juke in for a promotional oil change and mentioned to service that I was having issues with my a/c not blowing any air. He told me they would check it out, but never mentioned it would cost me $170 just for them to "check it out". The day I left the car there I get a phone call from service advisor Abel, who is telling me they've ordered the part and it should be arriving the following day. I asked how much is this gonna cost me, because I never agreed to getting anything fixed. The adviser goes on to tell me that it won't cost me anything because its under warranty, he then says, let me just make sure though. He puts me on hold then comes back on the line and tells me that I'm actually not under warranty anymore by time, and the repair will be $700 for parts and labor! Ridiculous! He then calls me back and says that the dealership has a program where they help out with service fees when the vehicle is semi-new and just out of warranty. He says they will pay for 90% of the $700 if I add on 2 or more of the maintenance services they are recommending: Transmission service $245, Fuel Injection service $285 and Coolant service $170. My vehicle has only 12,000 miles on it, I work from home so don't need to drive for work, so the car is pretty much new! This place is just trying to get $$ out people for bogus recommendations.
