I love to support a good small owned business, and I plan to recommend this place to all my colleagues that often stay in nearby hotels, so I must give my honest opinion in hopes that it helps. When I walked in, a woman who seemed like the owner was looking around to see if she had a table for one. I pointed to something I saw in the corner for 1-2 people. She said out loud either to me or to herself that I "wanted the dirty table." (Coming from a restaurant background growing up- I know how annoying it is that people always seem to want to sit at the dirty table. But I in fact did not notice there were still dirty napkins on the table from afar. Nor do I think you should say that to a customer.) But whatever, no big deal... The place was cute and home-y. The meal comes very quick! My food was very good. I had biscuits and gravy, that came with breakfast potatoes (better than most) and a slice of pineapple. For my drink, I asked for a pressed coffee (enough for 2/ a couple cups for one). I let it sit a few minutes, then poured it. It was verrryyy light. Basically light brown water with some coffee grounds floating around. The server saw that I hadn't even taken a sip and tried to just ignore it. Even tried to just slip my bill down and walk away quickly. When she came back I asked politely, "just so I know for next time" if the coffee was supposed to be like that. (I personally have only used a French press at home, but it always comes out very dark and robust) She didn't even answer the question, she just said "well did you let it sit 5 minutes?" (I was never told I needed to, but yes it had sat a few minutes) She said "then yes that's how it should be" I don't need a free coffee by any means, but I think it would be better customer service to say hey maybe you pressed it wrong, let me get you another pot. Or I'm sorry you weren't satisfied, could I get you something else instead? No, she just took my credit card and ran off. I paid 6.25 for something I took one spoonful of that tasted disgusting, and no one cared lol I'm really not trying to slam the place though. It was a nice environment, good food, even pleasant and friendly staff for the most part. But those couple things I think would take away from anyone's experience. We dropped in for a quick second on our way to the Museum and the place is cozy. Seemed to be a nice size crowd enjoying the indoor and outdoor seating. I'm sure their experience was different than ours. They served our water in a very dirty plastic container. It had a long drip of strawberry something along the side of the container and on the inside I saw specs that looked stuck to the container cause it didn't float around. We were really looking for something small to walk outside with and decided on the Smoot Froothy...I think it's only one flavor. Wasn't the best and was oddly warm. Not a fan... Unfortunately, we didn't try the food. I can't comment on the real breakfast plates. Other reviews seem to find the food enjoyable so I wouldn't say this isn't a place to go, but I will say I don't think it's first choice stop if you're looking for a smoothie. Dozens of superlatives. I'm so happy to have found this place when after driving to our first choice it wasn't open. As in closed & won't be opened until the 25th. With a note attached to their door. Yes I left a tip. So hungry and frantic to find something the yelp app to the rescue! Like I wrote above dozens of superlatives! First one. Parking in the back! Oh. My. Jackpot! Still a bit cautious walking in. Cute! Was my first impression. Colors everywhere! Happy place.! The food! But wait- the names they gave their dishes are so funny! I went for the Notanomelet. It's layers of potatoes under or over some chile con care, lots of cheese and then two eggs of your choice on top. Dig into this and you will still take half home. Their portions are huge. $10.45. Not $10.95 or 99. A bit different aren't they? Oh you bet me and Adam switched universe here. He went for the No Middleman Belgian Waffle. I usually would order this. I will be back for my own. But I had to try this. Oh boy. I was thinking in my head. Should I grab his? Decided not to and let the man have some peace and enjoy his choice. I mean look at the photo of his order. I found the location with a google search for breakfast. I was in town for three morning. I had breakfast there each day. The best part was the food quality. I had no idea how great Dozen's was going to be from the outside but once you walk in all the smells let you know it will be great. My friend had a craving for waffles and Dozens has a great one. The place was packed, as expected for a weekend morning. Per usual, I juggled a strong black coffee with a moderately-spicy Bloody Mary while perusing the food menu. I settled on a seafood omelette (Platte River Platter) with crab, shrimp, swiss cheese, and hollandaise sauce. Their Denver-themed menu is adorable and well-written. Lots of sweet and savory options to choose from. They especially take their Colorado eggs very serious. The omelette was good, very filling with fresh ingredients. Parking is rarely fun around here, but there are street options. Dozens is perfect dining solo or with a small group. Open early and closed by 1:30pm. The food itself wasn't out of the ordinary from your typical diner, but it's fast, reliable, and cozy. Dozens is one of the closest places for breakfast when staying at the Art Hotel on Broadway. It's a five minute walk. Mel was our server, and she was fun and always ready with more coffee. She knew about celiac and gluten allergies, and offered gluten-free toast to replace the English muffin on the menu. We both had omelets, and they were fluffy and full - perfectly prepared. I replaced the potatoes with a bowl of fruit. The fruit was fresh and generous. We both enjoyed the accompanying apple-cinnamon butter. Great service, great food, warm cozy environment. First time here and a 5-star for us for the overall experience. Got there right after they opened this Saturday morning, at about 7:15 a.m. We were warmly welcomed and seated immediately. Our waitress was welcoming and helpful. Coffee was there right away (yes, please) and refills were always served when you needed them. The place is cozy. It feels like you are going to have breakfast at your grandma's. Maybe the home-like feeling makes the place special. We ordered the Western Slope and Here's Your Aspen omelettes, and the cinnamon roll to share. Food was more than ample. It was fresh and had the feeling it was home made. The little cup of apple butter was excellent on the toasted muffin, perhaps my favorite part of the meal. Our omelettes came with their style of potatoes (boiled, then grilled with onions to get a crips crust) an English muffin with apple butter and a small piece of fruit (1/4 of a slice of fresh pineapple today). The cinnamon roll is a traditional one covered in frosting. Instead its covered in a fruit glaze and comes with butter. With tip the breakfast was $45 ($37.05 without the tip). I did not know that I wasn't aware of how restaurants worked. But that was made clear to us by the manager when we asked for a table and they tried to explain how the wait would be different compared to what the waitress told us. She proceeded to tell us how we have to wait till people get up from a table. Which I think we all understood. But after being initially told to wait 10 minutes, the manager told us her employee was wrong and that there was no way she could estimate how long we would wait. First, don't throw your employees under the bus. It's rude. But second, we all understand wait times. Without a suggested time, we had to imagine when our next meal would ever enter our mouths. We ended up leaving since there was no way to know when we would get a table. A friend in our party did call back and then we were magically offered up a time, but by then we already found another location. None of us mind waiting, and we also don't mind splitting up a big group especially with covid protocols (9 people). We even suggested that but we're given vague and brushed off answers. We will be glad to help you out here and say, avoid this place. I'm sure you can spend your time and money somewhere else. read more

It was everything I had hoped for; the BEST service ( Katie was our server ) the atmosphere was a non pretentious , friendly environment that served great food fast! I had the scrambled eggs done Steamboat style with cheese, bacon & sour cream. Deceptively filling and soooo tasty!
