I was just trying to order a Christmas Eve dinner for me and my fiancé. The reviews were great and I have yet to experience pleasant ethnic food in the area. This place fell short. Way short. Didn't even make the mark. The people who cook the food simply don't care. The chicken chow menu was a shitty version of Campbell's soup and didn't have any flavor. There was absolutely nothing sweet nor sour about the batter- fried sweet and sour pork. It was dry and just that- deep fried. I wanted to like the place. I was starving. Staff is very nice and friendly, though, and the food came out in less than 15 min. Terrible. We ordered from here several times. The last time we ordered they overcharged us and then sent us the wrong food. When we called to correct it, they said they wanted the food they got wrong back. It's covid and they are taking their mistake back so they can give it to someone else. Completely unsanitary. The next time, they delivered food, it was called and they overcharged us by almost $15. When I called they were rude and wouldn't refund me my money. I lvoe this place! I cant say that EVERYTHING is good only because I'm so stuck on their fantastic general tso's chicken! it's so sweet at first then you get hit with a little kick of the spicy peppers. The sauce is a deep red color and is oozing with flavor. I also love their bbq spare ribs. I have tried a few other entrees but the generals is by far the best. They do deliver(rather quickly) usually 20 minutes. or you can pick up(usually within 10 minutes) and they do accept credit/debit but its a 10$ minimum. read more

I had the unfortunate opportunity to order from this restaurant online. I read the reviews on another site and they sounded good. I ordered the Roast Pork with Vegetables, an Egg Roll and Brown Rice. They packaged the order in too small of a bag and stood the roast pork on its end. By the time it got to me 3/4 of the sauce was in the bottom of the bottom of the bag. The remaining sauce had no flavor and was watery like soy sauce. There was no sweatiness. The broccoli was still half yellow. The onions were still white in color and way under cooked. The bok choy and mushrooms were the only good part. The egg roll looked like a standard egg roll. It only contained cheese inside. I have never seen an egg roll with cheese. They always contain some sort of vegetables. The brown rice wasn't brown rice it was actually only dirty rice. I work all over the nation and have eaten some poor Chinese in the past. This is the worst ever and this includes mall and grocery store Chinese food. read more

As far as Chinese takeout goes, Dragon & Phoenix is very good. I work close to here so I pick up from here fairly frequently. Their lunch special is actually a pretty great deal. Your main dish, with a side of pork fried rice, soup or eggroll and a soda. not too shabby! there are a couple of things that i've had that really stood out. Spare Ribs- juicy! I've been to too many Chinese take out places that cook their spare ribs into dried up hard pork jerky. No thank you! The spare ribs here are really flavorful and juicy. Beef with string beans- They are done a little spicy (not too much) and in a flavorful garlic sauce. Pork Fried Rice- I know its a staple that comes with every Chinese takeout lunch but not all fried rice is created equal. The fried rice is very flavorful and seasoned properly. I recently visited my sister in Conshohocken for the Labor Day holiday weekend. I was dying to have duck soup as it has been more than 10 years since I have enjoyed any (moved from Philadelphia to rural Tennessee) and I enjoyed the duck Asian noodle soup immensely from Dragon & Phoenix that I actually ordered it another two times (total of 3 times during my visit). Ingredients were super fresh and the duck was perfect. I also got my niece Chicken and Broccoli with no sauce that the happily accommodated and that was also very fresh and delicious. Highly recommend over other local Chinese restaurants in the area. Also wanted to add when I got my first delivery the delivery person donated his tip to my niece's lemonade stand for charity, which I thought was super sweet and makes this restaurant a good community business. read more

Really impressed. Have had food from here in the past but never anything to rave about. Well today that was different. Food arrived to my house in 25 minutes!! That was super quick but it was also a Sunday at 4:30 during the flyers playoff game. Anyway I got the food in great time and noticed how fresh the broccoli was and even the rice. This is pretty decent food, very affordable, and incredibly fast delivery if you're ordering specific items. I pretty much get the same dish every time, which is the general tso's chicken dinner plate. Their egg rolls are actually really good, and I usually don't like eating those things. Fried rice is also made pretty well too. I only order delivery, and I'm right down the street so my food gets here in like 15-20 minutes from me ordering it. One of three Chinese Restaurants in all of Conshy, and this is probably third on the list. Golden Dragon is great for sit down, and Hunan Wok is great for take out. The reason that Dragon & Phoenix is third is their portion size. I think since the there was a change in ownership and Chef the food has come a long way(they had a restaurant on Long Island) but they don't give you enough food. They are totally a take out place now, because they have removed the one table and chair. They are really nice people and would accommodate any request that you have but the amount of food just is not worth the price. All in all though, still a very good option. read more

Probably the best and freshest Chinese food I've had around this area. The general tso's white meat chicken I got was so juicy and crispy and not soggy and questionable like most places around here. Sure we're some opposite reviews. I ignore those with no friends and only a few reviews. Here though, were two eliites with very opposite opinions. I am always looking for the no frills whole in the wall places and this fits the bill. Very large menu, often scary. But lots of soups and with weather close to below zero and me with a cold soup, stvegys, and rice was just what a wanted. I ordered and watched the football playoffs while a steady stream of takeout went out the door. Really a lot for 3:30. Got my food home, portions were huge. I ordered the the items mentioned above but only could eat one. I ate the Asian noodle soup Seafood version which was similar to a pho, but not really the same. No basil for the little extra things you put on top. my soup was a little Bland but it was really good there was lots of baby bok choy and some other veggies in an assortment of seafood including picture claims calamari shrimp clear broth Lotsa noodles huge Bowl. I added some soy sauce and hot mustard and it really was good.. I'll have to see about my steamed veggies and shrimp at a later date but they look really good stuck them in the fridge. I get down to Conshohocken for work every once in awhile and I would get takeout from here in a second. Any restaurants of this type be careful what you order stuff that's really pretty good quality at least that's been my experience. My family has a small business, so I don't take this review lightly. I've also been here at least 10 times (not a one-and-done review). Having said that, it's awful. Some of the worst Chinese food I've eaten. I've tried General Tsos, Chicken & Broccoli, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Fried Wontons, Steamed Dumplings. It's so convenient living fairly close in Conshohocken, but our town has a Chinese food problem. Go up to Plymouth or somewhere else for your Chinese. Sorry. read more

I'm new to the area so I try to give restaurants a few tries before forming an opinion...however after tonight I will no longer support this restaurant. After getting our order wrong ( which isn't a dealbreaker) we called back and the hostess was completely rude. We advised that we had items an which we didn't order and the items we needed were missing along with our soda. The same hostess continued to argue us down to the point that we just asked to be refunded for the missing items and would happily return the items in which we didn't order. It quickly escalated to the point we requested a full refund and returned EVERYTHING. Never have I ever encountered a restaurant that was wrong and not willing to correct their error. Worst food in area. The dumplings had only dough and no meat only two had a dot of meat, the lo mein was bland and tossed it, the black bean chicken was disgusting and spring rolls stale. I literally had to throw out the food as you can see. No one in my family thought it tasted okay. read more

This is our go to Chinese take out. I get chicken with vegetables in a white sauce and it's always very good. Egg rolls are good as well fried perfectly and good filling proportions. Dragon & Phoenix Express is an amazingly good Chinese restaurant disguised as a corner take out joint. Their menu is a throw back to "old school" Chinese eateries. There is nothing remarkable, nothing unique, just good quality food. Their soups are fresh and very flavorful. The won ton is great and the hot & sour is spicy but not over the top. Yes, in my standard error, I had called and placed an order with the wrong Chinese take out place. Dragon and Phoenix was amazing. They said don't worry about it, they would prepare everything I needed and make sure it's ready within 7 min. They lived up to their word.
