I've had delivery from here a few times over the last few months. I was skeptical because if the tiny location off of Fayette. Well let me just say, my skepticism was quickly put to rest. With in 15min of calling in my order the delivery guy was at my house. The food was Hot and tasted great. By no means would I call this place gourmet. First night in Conshohocken, strolled down and got moo shoo chicken for dinner. Prices are a tad pricey for the venue but still reasonable. Stay far away from this establishment. After waiting 2 hours and 20 minutes for our Chinese delivery our food arrived cold. Quality of the food was poor and seemed as if some dishes were microwaved. I called to complain to the manager and his response was that "is my problem" and "he doesn't care". Offering 10% off of our next order. This is unacceptable being that we will not be ordering again from this establishment in the future. The female representative on the phone was extremely rude as well. We were told delivery time would be 1 hour by the female rep. Not poor quality, cold food in 2 hours and 20 minutes. Been living in Conshy for the past two plus years and this is one of our favorites. Can't be beat in the area for Chinese food. Reasonably priced, quick delivery (or pickup). I recommend the chicken lo mein, or the sweet and sour chicken. Dinner combos come with egg roll and fried rice, which can be a ton of food, but for $7-8 you can't complain. read more

Standard Chinese takeout fare, but the service was great and very friendly. The delivery arrived within 15 minutes. There was so much food that it fed me for three days, all for about $20. Also, the person who thought of combining wonton and egg drop soups is a genius. Definitely check that out if you've never had it before. read more

Best steamed dumplings!! I've tried these from many different restaurants adn D&PE makes the absolute best. Eggplant in garlic sauce is really good too and their staff is really friendly. Not a huge fan of their lo mein but the spring rolls make up for it. read more

I have always ordered from here, and the food was good but tonight it was a bit off! The general Tso's chicken smelled burned and it was cold! It took an hour 16 minutes for delivery! When I called to inform them that 40.dollars plus, worth of food was cold! Nancy rudely told me it's not winter time! It's 70 degrees outside so my food can't be cold and the smell is from the vinegar they put on the chicken. So what I stated to her was unacceptable! read more

The second* Chinese place in conshy. Take out only. Is NOT open late night. And between this place and win Wah Honestly there is no winner. I think to have a really good Chinese dinner - you need to "take out" from both the places to make your meal balanced. Cause I prefer the schezuan from winwah, but the fried rice from dragon and Phoenix Good place. I like their fried rice. They do it well. Not dry, is tasteful and has veggies protein and is a standalone entree. But they also sweeten their spicy pot. Like using ketchup in the hot dishes.. WHY! But if you like some spice in your food like I do - you are better off with win Wah - but everything else I think this place can do better or as good. read more

I normally don't do reviews but, feel the need to speak up when necessary. I've been going to this restaurant since the new owners took over. People are friendly, services are quick, place is clean, food is tasty. It's funny how a person tries to trash a place over $7 watercress dumpling because she assumes it should be a vegetarian dish based on the name. Maybe you should ask the restaurant before you place the order rather than judge a book by its cover. Also, to the poster name FaQiang L, there's no where on the menu that mentions this is a authentic Chinese restaurant. You should know that based on the location of the business. Most of the population around Conshohocken are non-Asians. Non-Asians are not interested in eating authentic Chinese food hence the food is made in American-Chinese style. If you want authentic Chinese food, the basic human instinct would tell you to go to Chinatown where surrounded by the Chinese population instead of giving a restaurant 1 star because you expect something out of the ordinary. As I mentioned in the beginning, I normally don't do reviews but, can't help when I feel justice needs to be served. People have different tastes. As good as the general tso's chicken was there, I found a hidden gem on the menu: the spare ribs. I never had them from a Chinese place before but gave them a shot; they were fantastic. If I could give negative stars I would. Stay away! I ordered food and after an hour it still had not arrived. I was quoted 30-40 minutes but waited an additional 20 minutes prior to calling. After I called I was told that they did not know when my food would arrive but possible within another half hour or hour! Best Chinese takeout I have had in awhile, especially in Conshy. Delivery took 20 minutes which was awesome. The Kung pao chicken was tender versus hard and chewy from frying and the chicken and string beans was also really good. Their lo mien was amazing :) read more

I rarely crave Chinese food, so when I do, I don't want to be disappointed. We were spending the night in and decided to order Chinese food for dinner, we got delivery--and it was here in less than 30 minutes! We ordered the General Taos Chicken combination platter that came with an eggroll and pork fried rice. We also ordered a side of white steamed rice and a Chinese pizza to start. The chicken was pretty good and so was the rice. The Chinese pizza was perfect and the eggroll was fine. If you're looking for good, basic Chinese food I highly recommend Dragon & Phoenix. read more

You might not expect this place to be good judging by its exterior, but the weird outer door leads to a hallway which is attached to a normal chinese take-out area with tables if you want to sit there as well. I've gotten food from here multiple times and it's always been really good. I've also found that not all of the food is your typical recipe and they have menu items you might not find in other places. The food also tastes much better than your typical take-out place. I tried Dragon & Phoenix today for the first time after reading about it on YELP. D & P is located in a tiny old niche next to SCOOPS on Fayette Street. I had passed the place hundreds of times without realizing it was there. Today I ordered three favorites for take-out: shrimp toast, vegetable egg foo yung (Chinese omelet with vegetables and brown gravy) and vegetable lo mein. While waiting for my order, I sat in the tiny dining area and eyeballed the operation, used the rest room and browsed their menu. The tiny dining space is very informal and immaculate. The unisex rest room needs more attention. The open kitchen was orderly and clean and the employees (there were 5) were cleanly attired and professional. I was impressed by how seriously diligent everyone was. Very hardworking folks here! My order was promised in 10 minutes and was ready in a more realistic 20 minutes. Upon arriving home, I sampled the shrimp toast first. In my experience, very, very few chefs prepare shrimp toast well. After all, shrimp toast is supposed to taste like shrimp, right? D & P's shrimp toast was the typical greasy, low on flavor, scanty on shrimp variety. It might have been very inexpensive but it wasn't worth it. I would not order it again. I next sampled the veggie lo mein and was shocked by how tasty it was -- loaded with flavor and chocked full of mushrooms and crispy carrots, broccoli, shredded cabbage and young snap peas. This vegetable lo mein was the best that I've experienced in ages! Lastly, I sampled the veggie foo yung. It was guaranteed to fail because I already know who makes the best in the area. I was shocked by how delicious D&P's veggie foo yung was -- full of flavor and accompanied by a rich and delicious brown gravy and a small container of sticky, flavorful white rice. This hardworking take-out restaurant definitely deserves a try. Based on two delicious items out of three for a very low cost, I'm switching to Dragon & Phoenix for Chinese take-out based on cost and quality. I'll be trying additional items while looking for consistency. BTW, I left a $3 tip in the Gratuity Jar because my order seemed to be underpriced and the folks seemed to be deserving. read more

Ordered the Kung Pao chicken which was listed as spicy. It arrived and was very bland but fresh. We ordered again and mentioned the last time was not spicy. It arrived bland again. We decided to give them one more chance. I told the firl on the phone about my last two orders so she asked me if I would like it extra spicy and I said yes. It arrived bland. It's like the cooks are afarid to use any seasoning. I gave up on them. I will miss the delivery guy. read more

Since moving to Conshohocken about 8 months ago, I've been trying the various chinese take out places around town. Dragon & Phoenix is definitely the best. Everything I have ordered from them has been good, the delivery is prompt, and they are always very polite over the phone and in store. My only real complaint here is that the food isn't quite spicy enough. Usually when I ask for my General Tso's "as spicy as you can make it", its pretty spicy and delicious. At Dragon and Phoenix its still good, but I always need to top if off with Sriracha to get that delicious spicy food taste. read more
