We chanced upon Dragon Palace when we caught a movie at Village Cinema when we lived in the area a few years ago. The restaurant is a bit old and dim lit, but it was clean. Our server was couteous and walked us through the menu. Their menu is well balanced with a wide selection. There were a number of items on the meu that we've never tried, but we had to go with our favorites. Love their Egg Foo Yung (one of the best ones we've had) - large shrimp and thick sauce. Tried and enjoyed the Seafood Delight (shrimp, scallop, crabmeat and vegetables) and Lemon Chicken. Chinese food can't get any better. Since we moved, we haven't been there in months so it's time to take that drive... so worth it! read more

I have been coming here for years on my way to Camano Island and it is consistently awesome. The service is great, and the prices are very good considering how big the portions are, and they have an extensive menu. Based on some of the other reviews, don't treat the Dragon Palace like a pure take out restaurant, they do offer that but call ahead perhaps. Go to Panda Express for that. For those that have never worked in restaurants, here is some food for thought: You come make a $50 to go order, you want it fast before other guests, aaand you probably don't tip if any. . .and you want it brought out to your car? I went to this place 4 years ago and it was pretty good. I was craving Chinese food so I decided to go with my husband for lunch and it was really flavorless. The service was great but the quality of the food has really gone down hill. Apparently the only tasty thing to get here is the sizzling rice soup. Orange flavored chicken? More like burnt flavored chicken. 12 dollars for a plate of just chicken? $5 dollars extra for rice? I haven't been to this restaurant recently but in the past it has been very good. The portions were large and fresh, I always enjoyed the Mongolian Beef and the chow mein. The atmosphere is pretty neat with the movie theater on the interior and the downtown effect it tries to make. I need to try it out again soon, but I would stop in and try. read more

Yum! The orange chicken here was delicious! Dinner portions are large though, so you may want to think about splitting an entree with someone. Or go there with an empty stomach! Our server was really friendly and attentive. The prices were pretty typical of any Chinese restaurant. The atmosphere is great; I always enjoy eating at any of the restaurants in this building. Each restaurant has an "outdoor" seating area, which is really indoors, but it is in the center of the building where is it made up to look like a cute town. The movie theater is in the same building, so it's great to make a night out of it by eating here and then catching a movie after dinner! read more

We have lived in this area our whole lives and have been wanting to try this place ever since it was put in 10+ years ago but then we moved. :( We finally got the chance while visiting back this week and are SO glad! First, it is just really great that this Chinese restaurant is connected to the movie theater with a faux outdoor patio. Because of the warehouse skylights and murals, it really does feel like being outside which is awesome for rainy or cold Washington days. The Chinese atmosphere and decor is so great and the place feels clean and homey. The staff is very friendly and incredibly sweet - just so accommodating and with smiles on top of it. :) Ok, the food was delicious! Not too salty, not soggy. The soups are so fresh and tasty! All the food we had was so good! We are really impressed with everything, especially the service and food quality. We will definitely return when we come home for family visits. This place is as good as any Chinese food I've eaten. We had the almond chicken, orange chicken, shrimp Rangoon, and fried rice. Everything was cooked very well and was not greasy like your typical Chinese eatery in a small town. I've eaten at crappy Chinese restaurants in towns much larger than Stanwood. I will no longer be living in Stanwood but can see myself making the trip out here to eat at Dragon Palace. Perfect place for dinner and a movie. read more

For Chinese food in the hinterlands of Stanwood this is pretty good. I will definitely go back to have another selection. I had a pretty standard selection....Kung Pao Chicken. The sauce was not too gummy which can be a huge problem with not authentic Chinese restaurants. My one complaint is what I often find at Asian places. Why are the vegetables CUT SO BIG?! You can't possibly stuff the whole piece in your mouth! I know prepping vegetables is time consuming & assume this why they are so big. Also, the big slices of lemon grass were completely unpalatable. Spit that sucker back out! They looked like slices of green onion so you get fooled until you start to chew. Ugh. read more

One of the good places to eat in Stanwood. Five stars on portion size and service. I've lived in Vancouver, BC, home of truly great Chinese food, so I can't give five stars. I must say, however, local restaurants have to adjust their flavor profiles for their white bread audience, which is the majority of Stanwood. One less star for all the oil, and less points for generic dipping sauce. That said, I ask for less oil, and they are happy to oblige. Extra points for keeping brown rice on hand, and double-extra for the bright, festive decor. Yesterday I "pounced" on them with a party of 17, at 5:30 pm, and they happily obliged. Holy gemstone hiding in plain sight batman! I couldn't believe how big and beautiful this place was from the outside. It's part of a larger complex that resembles a tiny community mall with some historical Stanwood, wa paintings. There is a. "indoor" / "outdoor" skylit area of The building you can eat in which houses another restaurant, and a movie theater. The bathrooms are amazingly immaculate as is the overall atmosphere. You can tell the owners went through quite allot of time and money to make this truly a great looking restaurant. Now what about the food you ask? Simply put, it's as great as the decor and service. just discovered this nice take out. wow, i like it. the shrimp bowls, the wonton soup with all the trimmings is good. worth it

We have been going here for years, but we went tonight and everything that could have went wrong, went wrong. 1) I ordered the prawns with garlic sauce with no mushrooms and only 1/2 out of 5 spicyness. It came out with tons of mushrooms, freezing cold, and really spicy. This was the same with the other dishes that were ordered in our party that night. On top of it all, the food tasted absolutely horrible. It usually is very good, but tonight it was hardly edible. 2) Waitress never once checked on us, even though us and only 1 other couple were there and eating. 3) The waitress finally came to give us the bill and we sat at the table for about 15 to 20 minutes and the waitress still hadn't given us our credit card back. I eventually just went up there and grabbed it myself. We've been going here for years, but this experience makes us really just not want to go again. read more

Everything tasted blah, the BBQ Pork was dry and tasted like nothing, the Mongolian Beef was way to sweet and the sizzling rice soup just didn't really have a taste! Hubby and I were out on a Sunday to Camano Island and found this place on the way. Dragon Palace is hidden in a strip mall, and from the outside lot that is apparently the back door. The front entrance is on the inside of a small mall and movie complex with an adjacent restaurant and arcade. The seating is interesting because there is the outside, brightly lit mall section and the inside, darker and more ambient Asian style decor of royal blue, red and gold. We go there too late for the lunch specials that they have everyday and it being a weekend missed out on their early bird (pre dinner/happy hour) fair. We got the $32 dinner combo of Mongolian beef, sweet and sour chicken and sizzling rice soup. Extra points for the large slices of garlic in the Mongolian beef which I thought was great even without the garlic. The sizzling rice soup was really good with lots of vegetables, good flavor and sliced bbq pork. The combo also came with appetizers and there was not enough foiled wrapped chicken to go around! More points for being A LOT of food for just two people. Our server was very nice and friendly. It was a bit on the slower side, Memorial weekend but we didn't have to hunt her down to ask for anything. So if anything she was prompt and the overall service and experience were great. The soup was yesterday's left overs, the deep fried shrimp and fried won tons greasy, the foil packets not edible and the main courses: Mongolian Beef and sweet and sour shrimp very poor. We moved from Stanwood to N. Mount Vernon and still drive her three times per month just for their Wok Wonton soup and Orange chicken! The service is outstanding and the food is awesome. We have been customers since they opened and recommend it to all our friends. We are a family of 4 (including two growing boys) and we get a family dinner for three and still have left overs for lunch! Highly recommend trying it out! read more
