The food was incredible and they had everything ready quickly. My friend had even forgotten to place her order online and they still had her order ready in minutes! You can tell that they really care about the food being served here, and not just by how good it tastes - it seriously felt like a crime to eat it because of how wonderfully it was presented. Strongly recommend!

    Chirashi-don

The sushi here is the best I have ever had especially for the price (and I have eaten a lot of sushi around the world.) I highly recommend the chirashi-don. The salmon especially is absolutely perfect and the squid salad is amazing. I don't usually like seaweed salad but I eat every last bite in this dish. I have gotten it a dozen times and am always impressed by how much is packed into one dish for such a reasonable price!

I always get nervous when trying a new sushi restaurant, but this place did not disappoint! We ordered take out of seven different rolls and pork gyoza for a birthday dinner. The gyoza was delicious and every single roll tasted super fresh and most of them were huge! It was garnished with beautiful flowers and even a sushi flower made with fish, avo, and strawberries rolled together with spicy mayo. You could tell a lot of care went into making it look amazing. The quality and quantity of food was well worth the price, which surprisingly wasn't even that expensive. This is definitely our new go-to sushi place and I'd recommend it to anybody who is looking for delicious, fresh sushi! Picture is of our sushi after we put some of it on our own plate at home.

:*( I don't think i've ever had a better shrimp tempura roll, and their caterpillar roll is still my go to.

My kids loved the avocado and shrimp tempura rolls, which they both add so fast. My wife enjoys her scallops and ordered the scallon in black bean sauce. She said the scallop is fresh and tastes sweet. Couldn't help it but I did steal some of scallop and can confirm it was fresh and sweet. For a lunch special we ordered general tso and sesame chicken which were both crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and coated with a generous amount of sauce. The lunch special comes with a choice of soup. My kids chose the egg drop soup and I chose the hot and sour soup. Both soups were good. Why not 5 star? I thought the bathroom could use some improvement? At first my wife said it smelled like poop, and I really thought it was just her thinking that. Keep in mind that its 2 bathrooms, one for the ladies and one for the gents. When I stepped into the restroom for men, I immediately was overtaken by the smell of poop. They need to improve their ventilation system and also put in some air freshener. If it weren't for the bathroom issue, I'd definitely rate this place 5 stars. Food was amazing, would definitely come here again.

New Rivers is very good, Little Moss in Dartmouth is great, Vanda is delicious. Ella's is a step above. The flavor pairings on the main menu are exceptional. Don't miss the Vegan Dreaming. Order it with a protein - chicken, duck or scallops - it's un-real good. The veal chop, the venison, the halibut, the scallops, the chicken and grits - all of them - dear god so good. And get dessert from the special menu. I promise whatever the chef has dreamed up will be both delicious and memorable. Don't miss it.

We started in the lounge and ordered a couple of martinis. It took about five minutes before the bartender really acknowledged us, and it seemed like there was only one bartender trying to take care of the entire restaurant. When my martini finally arrived, it was noticeably under-poured--about an inch below the top of the glass. That wasn't a great first impression, but I decided to give the restaurant a chance. I ordered the miso salmon but asked if the black rice could be substituted. I was told, rather emphatically, that the person in the kitchen is not a cook but a chef, and that the chef's dishes are "exquisite" and are what they are. I understand having a chef's vision and wanting to preserve the integrity of a dish, but I was surprised that they wouldn't make a simple substitution. I was told that the only way to change anything was to order another item from the menu, at an additional charge. That approach just didn't sit well with me. At most of the restaurants I frequent, especially at this price point, there is usually some willingness to accommodate a reasonable request. It also struck me as unusual that a chef wouldn't be willing to make a minor adjustment to a dish. At that point, I decided to order a small appetizer, finish my half-poured martini, and try my luck somewhere else. Fortunately, the night was saved by a visit to an Italian restaurant up the road. What a difference! The experience was fantastic. They were happy to tweak a pasta dish for me and even added anchovies, which were absolutely outstanding. The guys are from Italy, and the food and hospitality reflected that. I have no doubt that the chef at Ella's is talented and that there are people who really enjoy the restaurant. I went there because I had heard some very good things, but I had also heard some negative reviews and wanted to see for myself. Unfortunately, my experience confirmed some of those concerns. For me, a great restaurant is about more than the food. It's the combination of food, service, hospitality, and the willingness to make a guest feel welcome. Ella's missed the mark for me on this visit. The Italian on the other hand, turned what started as a disappointing evening into a great one.

The menu had a little bit of everything ranging from Thai to sushi to Vietnamese, a very fusion type feel to it. The service was friendly and the food came out in a timely manner. Three items were ordered and tried. They consisted of the sushi nachos ($14.95), bao buns with chicken katsu ($12.95) and the Mystic River roll ($19.95). The nachos had diced tuna, sliced avocado, Pico de Gallo, topped with spicy avocado sauce and tobiko and served over fried wonton skins. There was a nice portion here. I thought they were going to be small wontons, but this was a pleasant surprise. There was a great ratio of flavors, and I really enjoyed the small dicing of everything. The bao buns were topped with sliced cucumbers, spring onions, carrots, and some type of sweet hoisin sauce it appeared. The chicken was very crispy and tasty. The bun was okay. It was a little tough. I did enjoy the sweet factor from the sauce to pair with the hot and crunchy chicken. The Mystic River roll had tuna, salmon, mango, as well as avocado topped with spicy mayo and was wrapped in a rice wrapper. This was alright. There was a lot of mayo present, which took away from the fish flavor, but it still was not bad. The rice wrapper was an interesting choice, but overall, okay. Will I go back? Probably.

Hate to say it but the spa, this restaurant, and our room were all just ok. $700 for a room. The casino is wildly expensive. Ambiance - extremely dark in here. Next to the restaurant is the club and thankfully we ate and got out of there before the club got going. Got sat next to a bunch of moms with their cheer kids who looked miserable after their cheer competition. That or they were tired. Looked like a bunch of brats to me. The food - just ok. Didn't wow us. Started with the pork dumplings. Big appetizer! Came with 6 pieces. I asked for the crispy onions on the side. They were tasty. I then got a sushi roll. I believe I got the crunchy roll without the tempura flakes. Boyfriend got the salmon. He said it wasn't bad. What was really awful was the mochi they served when they came out to sing happy birthday. It was disgusting. My boyfriend paid extra for the singing act and dessert and I felt bad that he paid extra for this since the dessert was terrible. It was pretty funny how the staff come out with masks and a fake cake and sign. After mine they sang with their ensemble to like 4 other tables. Seems popular. Overall ok restaurant.

I love the open kitchen design because you can see and smell what is going on in the kitchen. The food unfortunately didn't impress me at all. I had the steak noodles that seemed to be tossed with pre-made salad mix that you'd find at your local supermarket. The steak was cooked perfectly (medium-rare and tender) and had sweet, tangy flavor. All in all, not a terrible meal, but the salad mix on a sautéed noodle dish wasn't that enjoyable. We also ordered an assortment of sushi. The sushi was edible, but the rice was too dense and mushy. We ordered the salmon, unagi along with other seafood and it was just OK. The service was good. I thought that our waitress was attentive, polite and brought us our meal as soon as it was available. I'm not sure I'd come here again other than maybe getting a drink in a restaurant that is beautifully decorated. -ODL Connect with me! IG & YouTube: @AOEAT
