Sara Torres gave probably the worst service possible. Including my table which is only of two there were probably 3 tables taken at this restaurant. No excuse for the bad slow service. Never got refills or even asked if we needed refills. We had to get up n ask for water because our server never came when we first got sat. The manager had to come check on us only because she saw us looking around to see where our server was at. Ordered drinks that just sat at the bar until the bartender brought them over herself. Had a question about a specialty roll that she was supposedly going to get the answer to which she never returned with. But she was so persistent when it came to taking our money. Just wasn't a good experience at all especially for our first time. Not coming back. read more

Well, we have eaten here two more times, and unfortunately, they've gotten worse. First, I love Yasu (he's incredible), but the last two times, they've used normal rice for their sushi (not the sticky rice) and it's been absolutely horrible. I questioned them on it last time recently, and they told me that they 'ran out' but will get some in the back for us. (!) So, they choose to serve us sushi with rice that literally fell apart on us, and they knew it would when they prepared it. That sucks. My wife has told me that we cannot go here again, and although I love Yasu, I must agree. Any restaurant that serves sushi, knowing that it's not correctly prepared, isn't worth going to. Damn, because I love their Caterpillars.... Sorry, Yasu, but two times? We're not fans any longer. read more

My husband and I had been to this Sushi restaurant in the past and we really liked their food BUT this last time that we went, we tried a new Sushi dish and my husband didn't care for it, so we sent it back to the Sushi Chef and he personally came to our table and told us we couldn't return our food and that it was our fault that we ordered it. Thankfully our waitress didn't charge us for it otherwise we would have thrown a fit!!! BUT We will never be going back there again! I have never been to a restaurant where they did that!! First of, the location is beautiful it has a warm inviting yet modern feel to it. The appetizers and sushi are great. I know the Mexican food incorporated in the menu. I don't have any complains about food or ambience. The only complaint would be the service, the server carried on conversations with her coworkers while we waited to be taken care of and that continued on through the night. Walked in and was seated. Got up to use the restroom.came back to my seat and was greeted by a giant cockroach and my feet. Felt nauseous so I got out of there as soon as possible. The funny thing is before I got up to use the bathroom our waitress was eyeing something on my corner of the booth I thought that she had spilled some water but I'm pretty sure she saw the roach but didn't say anything to alarm us. Far from the best sushi I've had in the valley. I sometimes find my sashimi and nigiri to be quite firm, like not completely thawed out firm, but the sushi is great overall, considering how inexpensive it is. Also this happened more often back when staff wasn't friendly and service was just awful, so I'm glad things have improved in that aspect. Now service is quite friendly, especially Gabriel, an amazing guy, by far my favorite server there. I'm glad there is that change of staff, unless of course I was just cursed with an awful server in the past. The ambience is not as calm or peaceful as other sushi places, it's actually quite the opposite, a lot of tv's broadcasting sports and what not. However I'm sure this is what the owners were going for. Ultimately this place has good service, alright sushi, but an unauthentic feel, however it's definitely worth a try. I'd recommend this place if you're just trying to hang out and eat sushi with friends but don't want to be a bother with your awesome vibes, and if you or a friend are looking to lose their "sushi v-card." read more

Poor service. A member of our party ordered "all you can eat," the first round came in perfectly, then the server took 15 minutes to bring back the menu. The entire party was done eating before any of his other rolls came out. He asked to just cancel and pay for the two small rolls he ate. The manager, Isabel, was very rude and did nothing to help the customer, she simply stated that it should be common knowledge that all you can eat takes longer than the usual menu items. Nice restaurant, bad experience. It was my first time here. We were seated after 5 minutes, but for 20 minutes no one came to help us or take our drink orders until we called out for help. I ordered the fish and chips, it came with rice, salad and miso soup. When served, the food was good, except for the BOTTLE CAP FROM A DOS EQUIS BEER IN MY MISO SOUP that I almost bit into. This is a safety hazard and health issue, so we politely asked our waitress if we can speak to a manager, but one never came and the waitress never came back to our table. We had to ask another server for their manager and still no manager came. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. My conclusion for this place nice establishment, decent food, but customer service didn't exist here. I visited the Indio location as I was on a date with my husband a couple of days ago. We were out to celebrate and arrived around 5 pm. The restaurant was 1/4 occupied and the remaining tables were either dirty or clean. There was staff walking around not doing anything about the dirty tables. More than enough staff and tables were available to sit us down we waited 20 mins to be sat and once we were at the booth we were sat at you could tell it was only given a quick pass with a rag. I found this out because I had sushi rice sticking to me and when I looked down I also noticed there were about 2 different menus littered under our table along with food particles and trash. Our server got us water and disappeared for a while when she finally came back and took the order she seemed to try and pressure us into ordering the more expensive items on the menu, she didn't seem to care for our wants except hers. I was extremely irritated at this point and we shortly walked out of the restaurant after ordering due to the worst customer service experience I've been through in a long time. We were in the restaurant going through this chaos for a total of 1 hour and 10 mins. And we still didn't have our food served. I'm glad I left as I had a much better dinner celebration at the La Quinta Resort. read more

I just can't give more than three stars. This place is entirely average. It smells of cleaning solution. The service is slow and only mildly interested. The sushi would probably come out faster if the guy was not staring at the TV while he worked. The flavors are unoriginal. I don't know if it matters, but I did not see a single Japanese person. A couple of girlfriends and I met up on a Friday night at Dragon Sushi to enjoy some drinks and appetizers. The place was packed and had a great, lively vibe. There was a great mix of people, too. Instead of waiting in line for a table, we sat at the bar. It was comfortable and the itamae behind the sushi counter was pleasant. Our server, Karen Grajeda, was friendly, attentive, and very accommodating. We had a few beers, sushi, and tempura, and the total price was reasonable. They have an All You Can Eat menu - Lunch is $22 and Dinner is $29 I like that they have standard rules for the all you can eat menu to discourage WASTE. We had the lunch all you can eat: Miso soup was a little heavy on the seaweed but nicely flavored and delicious Edamame was warm and salted Vegetable tempura came with 3 pieces and good Agedashi tofu came with 2 pieces very good Garlic fried rice very garlicky and very good Shrimp tempura roll 8 pieces was delicious Spicy tuna roll 8 pieces was good and spicy Vegetable roll 8 pieces good and fresh California roll 8 pieces was good House salad was fresh but the dressing was too gingery for my liking Albacore tuna sushi was very good and fresh Cajun tuna sushi had mild Cajun seasoning but good and fresh The servers cleared the table of empty dishes quickly. We didn't have to ask for refills because our server Marly was on top of it. She was friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was served quickly. I think if you try the all you can eat menu make sure you come when it isn't busy. I can see how they would have slow service when this place is busy. Worst service ever. Host at front "Amelia" was a rude young little girl. Forgot about us and then had the nerve to slam our menus on our table. So then our waitress comes and we start explaining to her how she just walked by our table twice and she starts talking over us. Very rude workers. They surely don't know anything about customer service. Finally we got a man server and we told him what happened and he said he would take care of it. Hopefully he did. As far as the freshness of the raw fish goes, it is excellent, one of the best in the valley. I'm not into deep fried foods or all of the fancy rolls and dishes but, the salmon sashimi, tuna and yellowtail sushi delish! The atmosphere, sometimes there's music sometimes not. The TV's are on all different channels. Service needs to step it up with taking the empty dishes away and especially, when I'm having dessert, I'm not a fan of smelling soy sauce and tempura while we're eating ice cream. read more

So there have been many positive changes since my last review. I have been hesitant to update my review but after deciding to give them another chance and going there a few more times I have finally decided to do so. As I said before, I was hesitant to go back but a few friends shared their positive experiences and that motivated me to try the place again. Ever since I decided to go back, any time I have gone to eat there I have received great food and great customer service. My experience now is very different from my previous experience and I couldn't be happier. This is now definitely a place to go (so much that my husband and I did a Valentine's dinner here where the staff was very helpful in providing a very nice setting and also providing a very nice wine bottle service). My nephew and I were wanting to do AYCE sushi on a Saturday afternoon and since we were in indio we decided to go here. It felt like as soon as we mentioned we wanted to do all you can eat, the service went downhill, it wasnt busy and there was maybe 2 tables other than ours. We love this place and try to come as often as we can because of the good food and good service. However, tonight was a different story. We came for food and to watch a basketball game. We got seated in the new area where there's a bar and after ordering our drinks, my fiancé ordered the all you can eat sushi (I didn't). That is when our server told us we would have to move to the other side of the restaurant if only ONE of us was ordering all you can eat. So we moved across and he was able to order all you can eat, but when we asked if they could put the basketball game on tv, they said we had to sit on the other side of the restaurant to watch it. The problem was that they wouldn't let is sit at our original table where we could see the game because only one of us was ordering all you can eat. It made no sense at all. Then after our server spoke to a manager, they allowed us to move to another table on the original side we were at. So there we went again having to pick up our things and move yet again. The whole ordeal took up about 15 minutes, which is such an inconvenience. Within those wasted 15 minutes, our food could have been made. This alone made me reconsider returning here. MANAGEMENT: Please revoke that new "rule." It makes no sense at all and will likely draw customers away, even frequent ones like us. read more

If you love sushi as much as I do this place is for you. Asian & Latin fusion food. We sat at the bar to see the chefs prepare our food. Ambiance and music were pretty relaxing. The only weak point was the presence of three monitors showing fighting club sessions. Not sure why given that the clientele was not really interested in it. Food was delicious. We had sashimi,nigiri,rolls,seafood,fried ice cream roll. What a pity I couldn't have alcohol because I had an early start. This place was not crowded at all even though it was a Saturday. read more
