We love this place and try to come as often as we can because of the good food and good service. However, tonight was a different story. We came for food and to watch a basketball game. We got seated in the new area where there's a bar and after ordering our drinks, my fiancé ordered the all you can eat sushi (I didn't). That is when our server told us we would have to move to the other side of the restaurant if only ONE of us was ordering all you can eat. So we moved across and he was able to order all you can eat, but when we asked if they could put the basketball game on tv, they said we had to sit on the other side of the restaurant to watch it. The problem was that they wouldn't let is sit at our original table where we could see the game because only one of us was ordering all you can eat. It made no sense at all. Then after our server spoke to a manager, they allowed us to move to another table on the original side we were at. So there we went again having to pick up our things and move yet again. The whole ordeal took up about 15 minutes, which is such an inconvenience. Within those wasted 15 minutes, our food could have been made. This alone made me reconsider returning here. MANAGEMENT: Please revoke that new "rule." It makes no sense at all and will likely draw customers away, even frequent ones like us. read more

If you love sushi as much as I do this place is for you. Asian & Latin fusion food. We sat at the bar to see the chefs prepare our food. Ambiance and music were pretty relaxing. The only weak point was the presence of three monitors showing fighting club sessions. Not sure why given that the clientele was not really interested in it. Food was delicious. We had sashimi,nigiri,rolls,seafood,fried ice cream roll. What a pity I couldn't have alcohol because I had an early start. This place was not crowded at all even though it was a Saturday. read more

Came to eat with sisters , night was kinda full waited to be seated we got sat nd a set of gals got sat after us . Was told by the hostess waiter would be coming to take our drinks . Really good sushi and really nice inside. But on the other hand VERY DISRESPECTFUL and DISGUSTING cooks my husband and myself were sitting at the sushi bar and we over heard them talking nasty amongst each other about the size of my breast in Spanish but little did they know me and my husband are bilingual speakers. It really made me feel insecure and uncomfortable through out the whole time I was there. It got my husband very mad he wanted to leave but we had already ordered so we stayed and went on with our lunch. But as we were leaving I forgot my keys and caught them staring at me. Gabriel was extremely tentative and was bringing our beverages before asking for more. My boyfriend and I have a great dane and want to go to sushi the other night. We called ahead and they said they had patio space and we could bring him. They were so sweet to us and turned the music on outside and filled up our dogs bowl for us even though no one else was eating outside! Just ate at Dragon Sushi, it was AWESOME. The waiter/bartender helped us order, explaining the various ingredients on some of the sushi rolls. We decided for the mango tango rolls, soft shell crab, mango tango burger, fried calamari and the fresh and healthy cucumber slices with fresh shrimp ceviche. Blown away by the incredibly outstanding, traditional-style sushi that Yasu prepares at Dragon Sushi. We lived in Tokyo for seven years, so I've had the best of the best. This is shockingly good, especially in an out of the way place like Indio. Ask Yasu to prepare his selection and put yourself in his capable hands, though from what I ordered off of the menu, it was all good. Yasu is from Japan, so he knows his stuff and will no doubt appreciate a discerning consumer. I'm thrilled to have found this spot, and look forward to returning soon and often. read more

So this past Sunday my daughter, grandson & I order lunch here - it is our latest favorite & have been about 6 times. We order the California Roll that has the crispy fried lobster on top for the 7 year old -We say to the waitress "That doesn't have anything spicy on it, right"? She assures us it doesn't !!! Comes with the light orange sauce & it's burning his mouth -it's only on top so we ask to take it off & give us some lobster that doesn't have the sauce on it -Waitress comes back & says "That will be $7.00 !!!!!! First of all, I would like to say "Frankies Fresh Fish" has always been mine and my husbands favorite sushi joint. Unfortunately, Frankies burned down a couple months ago and we felt LOST! We did not know where we would go to get our sushi fix anymore... One day we were craving sushi so bad we said well there is that "Dragon Sushi" place by Rite Aid off HWY 111. We ended up going to try it out and the first thing we noticed is "Frankies Fresh Fish" sushi chef Yasu!!!!! We were so relieved and excited to see Yasu there. We asked him if he could make us something that was alot like "The Dangerous Girl" from Frankies and he simply and gladly made us a "Ninja Roll" which was similar to the Dangerous Girl which we had got EVERY time we went to Frankies Fresh Fish made by Yasu!!. I really want to like this place, but I just never completely do. The recipes just don't pop like some places. Nothing is spicy enough; you'd think they'd have some good rolls featuring jalepeno but nope. Taste is a personal thing, maybe you'll like their recipes. Be warned if you order take out though: when I ate in the rolls were 8 pieces, but when I ordered to take out it was only 5 pieces- it was like it wouldn't fit in the to go box so they just decided not to give me everything I paid for. Instead of 2 pieces of tobiko my carryout order was one tobiko and one of some other fish eggs, and they left the wasabi out of one of the boxes so when I got home I got to enjoy a nice plain roll from a place that I thought wasn't spicy enough even before they forgot the wasabi. I don't think I'll be back a 4th time- it's time to just accept that there is no sushi worth eating in the Coachella Valley. read more

My Family and I always go here and usually love it! Today was a very different experience, Our waitress Claudia was rude, no customer service at all and took forever for everything. I could maybe understand Her lagging if it was busy, they maybe had 3 tables including Us. We won't be going back just because of the horrible experience. My Husband gave Our waitress His card and She came back saying it was denied, My Husband said no way could it be but ended up paying with a different card. My Husband called the card company after and they told Him it must have never even been swiped since nothing showed up on His side, He explained that even if it was denied it would show up on Our account. When I called to talk to the manager She just kept saying oh wow, oh really, oh ok. She asked if We wanted to come back in to talk about it but I told Her not to worry We wouldn't be back and I would be leaving a bad review on Facebook. read more

The sushi is OK, I've been here twice and that was my last time here. I got introduced to this place by my friends and i liked the food but i noticed their speed of service needs work... Or maybe they need to staff better. After my first time there I was like "ok, ill keep this as an option" and so i returned with my whole family. I ordered the "all you can eat". Having been here twice i can say 2 things either they need to speed up their service; because it takes about 15 minutes in between your next roll, or that's the strategy they have... In my case the longer i wait for the next roll the fastest i felt full. Im willing to over look all this but what dissapointed me was that we ordered a chicken dish as an alternative for a non sushi eater. Usually other sushi restaurants offer yakisoba, or some type of noodles but this place didnt. We tried the dish a we didnt like it. The waitress was very polite and took the dish and brought something else. At the time of the bill the uneaten dish was still charged for and we asked for the manager but the manager never came instead she left the waitress solve the issue... I dont blame her... She said that the manager said that they still charge and all sge could do was a minor discount. Ive been to many restaurants and they always replace your dish and dont charge for the one you dont eat. I would understand if the manager had came and explained why she couldnt take it off the bill... I mean if the restaurant is struggling financially i would have gladly understand but the manager didnt come to talk to us and we still got charged. Its a shame because like i said in the beginning this to me was another place to keep my options open but after this visit my family and I won't be coming here. I went there this afternoon for lunch and even though the setting was quite pleasant and the waitress was very polite, the price that I paid for the quality of food received doesn't balance out. After being stationed in Japan for 4 years I have a pretty good idea of what authentic Japanese cuisine should look and taste like and this was not even comparable to what I have experienced. I started off with the yakitori which was more like a hawaiian bbq shish kabob with pineapple. In all my years in Japan I never saw yakitori with pineapple so I'm not sure why that was added to it. I also ordered a tempura scallop roll which was less than desirable. I'm not exactly sure how it was prepared but it had absolutely no flavor and was very bland; and for the price it wasn't exactly what I expected. So all in all, I have definitely eaten better sushi here in the desert for a lesser price but try it out for yourselves.. who knows, you may enjoy it. Buen Provecho! read more

If you go get the all you can eat sushi for like almost $30 my family and I go there all the time and they are fast, friendly and clean. Sit at the bar and chat it up with the chiefs and watch the magic of them making the art you almost dont want to eat! If your just not that hungry try the Mango Tango. read more

Have frequented this establishment often with my four year old. He is not into sushi, so we always bring fast food for him so us adults can enjoy our sushi. Today we were turned away, at 2:40pm (bar and restaurant were almost empty), because we brought a cheeseburger for our son. Unbelievable that you would choose a policy so small, over making over a $100+ sale. Always drive from Cathedral City, passing many other sushi joints. Maybe if this place had a more kid friendly menu, we wouldn't have to stop to get a cheeseburger (kid size) elsewhere. Lady Manager had an attitude before even coming to shoot us down. This place definitely improved from when it first opened. Dragon Sushi had quickly became my favorite sushi spot. That ended pretty fast. During the few times I ate here after my last review, we had pretty bad experiences. Out of the last five times I ate at Dragon, I ended up biting a piece of bone that was left in the Albacore roll THREE times. The first time I actually choked. It was kind of sharp. I lost my appetite. They didn't offer to comp the meal, but the chef did at least apologize. It happened TWO more times out of the following four trips. I didn't even get so much as an apology on those visits. The waitress just said she would let the chef know. I've been eating sushi 4-6 times a month for the past ten years, at various locations. I've never found bone in my sushi at any other restaurant. Finding bones in my rolls during 3/5 visits is just unacceptable. I haven't been back here in months, and do not plan on returning. read more

So I did it again. I did what I said I wouldn't do. And that was to Yelp only my bad service. So to tip the scales of justice I told myself that the next time I have exemplary service I would let everyone know. Today is that day. I just finished dinner at the Dragon Sushi and once again the food was excellent! But not just the food but the service too was excellent. The whole staff was very friendly but hats off to Mngr. Crystal and our server Magaly. Always attentive and their suggestions were very helpful. So I've mentioned the delicious food, the friendly staff and now I must mention the restaurant. Very nice. Clean, great music, and for the sports lovers, big screen tvs everywhere. Great foood, great prices, full bar with drink specials, and weather permitting an outdoor seating area complete with misters. Will definitely be coming back here. Hope to you guys here. The food is really good. But the service seriously sucks. The wait staff is standing around waiting on the food to be prepared. We stopped in for lunch we were the only ones in there and it still took 25 minutes for 2 rolls. Not very satisfy with the food. My sister ordered "oyster" and it's actually mussels.... I like their ramen and udon better then the sushi.

I was reluctant at first to try this restaurant based on some odd reviews that I read. But then, the more i read them, they seemed like petty issues that held no bearing. I then looked up their health department review and saw they received 100% A on their inspection and decided to give it a shot with my husband. Am I glad I did! The food was incredibly delicious and yes, it was a little slower than fast food, but that is to be expected at a sushi restaurant where each dish is prepared fresh and authentic. I also liked the fusion flair even though I was a bit apprehensive, the server's knowledge of the food made me feel confident. I will be back very soon and look forward to my next experience. Kudos to Dragon Sushi. I hear they're opening one in Palm Desert and can't wait to visit! read more

This place is alright. The restaurant is pretty small and the layout isn't very inviting or comfortable. I guess it just isn't that pretty inside lol. As far as food tbh I only eat sushi sushi (not rolls) I like that they give you a pretty large piece of sushi but I HATE how they automatically put wasabi INSIDE the sushi like between the fish and rice. So if you're not a wasabi fan like make sure you ask for no wasabi. The fish is honestly not that amazing. It's alright not the freshest though. This place is really not my first pick for sushi. People seem to like the rolls a lot so maybe if you like that kind of stuff might be for you. read more
