They should name it "DRAIN the MONEY RIGHT OUT of YOUR POCKET. I may be old but I am not stupid!!! I called Drain Right because both of my sinks in my master bathroom were stopped up. A very charming, professional and courteous young man came out. He also told me that the charge would be about 75.00. He put forth some effort with the snake machine to try and unclog the sinks, but to no avail. He explained that my pipe setup was in a T configuration and that was basically why the snake was in effective. Jesus told me that he would call his boss and he would probably come back the next day with another technician with a camera. I went to get my check book to pay the bill and Jesus told me no, because; he was not able to solve the problem. Okay, that was very impressive. Next day, Jesus returns with another Technician by the name of Nelson, whom I assumed had a camera, even though I never saw it. Nelson looks under the sinks, ask me about the roof and goes to the location of the main piping system. Now here is where the game begins. Nelson tells me that due to my T-Configuration and the age of my pipes that they have to be changed and I need Hydro-Jetting. They will also have to take out part of my wall and replace all the pipes. They will have to get a permit and the job should take about 2 days; maybe 3 days at the most. Nelson leaves and returns with the price. The price is @ standard rate 3200, but; they will give me the Senior Discount of 2880.00. I am of course shocked and ask is this the best they can do and is there another way of solving the problem; of course the answer was no. Nelson also showed me a picture on his cell phone of one of my pipes with some rust on it that would need replacing in the main area. He told me that they would replace it for free, no problem. Okay, they lost me @ having to Hydro-jet and replacing the piping too. I not stupid; why would I need both? I called another Plumber by the name of R&R in Minutes. R &R in Minutes came out the next day and did some of the same checks that Drain Right performed with one exception. R & R went up in my attic to check for the Venting. Low and behold "VENTS":; they took the Snake Machine up there and had my sinks unclogged in 15 minutes. The total cost was 70.00. Folks, I will let you be the judge, either the Carson Drain Right location has incompetent plumbers; or they are just STRAIGHT OUT CROOKS!!!!!! Either way BUYER BEWARE. read more

Such a scam. They claim to snake your drain for $45 but use a small snake without the bit on the end. for a larger size snake to do the job properly, they charge $145! I will go back to snaking it myself. Follow-up: to their credit, after seeing my review, they wanted to make things right. In my opinion, it should be done correctly in the first place. The owner of Drain Right Plumbing contacted me shortly after my post to apologize and to let me know that my service wasn't handled correctly. And to further explained how it should have been handled immediately and that he would credit my account as request to cover my cap replacement and installation. He wanted to earn our business, so I decide to have them come out to check on a leak; and he had his supervisor Ron G. come out the same day; he was punctual, knowledgeable and very professional. And even though they're a bit pricy, the estimates are free and it's up to you to decide whether you would like to move forward. Yelp should really allow negative stars because one star just doesn't justify my experience with this company. Every time I read Yelp reviews on a company, I only read the bad ones because I feel like these are the truthful ones, the ones that didn't have some kind of incentive attached to them. So I hope that anyone who reads this review considers that. Best advice I can give you? STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! They are dishonest and will take advantage of people who don't know any better. At least GET 2 MORE ESTIMATES FROM OTHER COMPANIES BEFORE YOU HIRE THIS COMPANY TO DO ANYTHING! They came out to the house on the weekend to fix a leak. The original contract gave an estimate of $3780 including required permits. The technician instructed us to "Sign here" without us knowing that we were signing a "Waiver of 3-day right to cancel" form. My godmother got sprayed in the face with hot water because the technician asked her to help him locate the leak by sticking her head in the hole while he turned on the water. He stated that he had been on the job for 3 months and if he couldn't do this job correctly that he would be fired. So there's that. Then by the 2nd day, the change order says that this job has now turned into a $35,000 job with an additional 8+ days of work to re-route and re-pipe the condo. On the third day, my husband called them to ask why it was such a ridiculous amount, the guys stutters around on the phone for a min before saying that $15,000 of it is for a 25-year warranty....what?? So we realized that we were being taken for a ride and we cancelled the job. So at this point they had fixed the leak, dug a 3-foot long trench in the front of the condo(while they were digging the trench they broke the main sprinkler line, by the way), and had not brought any additional materials whatsoever or anything like that. So we called Barker and Sons, who came out the next day, gave an estimate for almost $13,000 less that included a warranty. AND they finished the majority of the job in ONE DAY. Funny thing was, when they went down to the city to pull the permits BEFORE they started the work, we were informed that Drain Right had not pulled any permits. When I asked them about it they gave me a song and dance about the city being closed on the weekend but they submitted the request and had to wait til Monday to get them and then we cancelled so they didn't have time. Well the only thing wrong with that bull#$@% claim is that we did not cancel until Monday night and the city of Fountain Valley Code Enforcement Officer gave us confirmation in writing that they did not pull permits at all. The City of Fountain Valley requires that permits be pulled BEFORE any work is done and it says right there on the website that the application can be submitted online. So much for the city being closed and blah blah blah. In our opinion they breached the contract because the original contract said "permits included" but I doubt they ever had any intention of pulling the permits that we were paying for. So then they actually had the nerve to have an attorney send us a letter saying that we breached the contract and that we owe them $5,000 because they did the majority of the labor intensive work. How is that when they had 8+ days of work left???? Give me a break. So end result, I have submitted a complaint and a permit violation referral to the CSLB and am waiting on the results. read more

I needed urgent help and a service I could trust to repair an issue quickly and for a fair price. I'm not a big fan of this company. I needed to repair a leak for my kitchen sink. I spoke with Stephanie who always say that they will get back to me with a proper pricing. I wait and I wait and they never get back to me. I had to call them after a week and then she notifies me and says that they won't fix my sink for the original agreed upon price because they didn't know of "additional problems" with the sink. I asked for a discount and she said she will get with her supervisor and get back to me. I wait and I wait and surprise!!! They never get back to me. We recently had a waterline crack 5 feet under ground in front of our business that was puddling water through asphalt that could have potentially created a sink hole. I called and recieved Deanna and explained our situation and I got a call back from the dispatcher with my appointment time within 15 minutes. They were able to schedule us to inspect the issue same day. They arrived on time were professional and able to quote a further diagnostic that involved scanning to locate the pipe and how much needed to be replaced. We agreed and they were able to send out a scan person and detect how much pipe was needed and where to dig. We agreed to the repairs. We were scheduled for repairs the next day. They arrived on time. Their job site was neat and organized they communicated all throughout the job with us and we were still able to conduct our business with no interruptions. They were done with a very difficult job in a matter of hours. It involved digging thru asphalt cutting and replacing 5 ft of pipe reasphalting which is no easy task. I called from the Valpak mailer to have a drain unclogged. The Valpak mailer said "any drain $45" however that wasn't true. It was actually 3X the amount which I think is deceptive advertising. The plumber said that the coupon price is only for a certain type of drain. So what could be more simpler than a shower drain? Whatever, I paid because I wanted my drain unclogged. Nevertheless, the company was quick to respond, they were there within an hour and I got an email with a pic of the plumber for security reasons so that was nice. Also, the plumber Abraham was very courteous and professional. He went into a very detailed explanation of what he did and about the types of drains etc. Seemed very knowledgeable and finished quickly.
