This company is a rip off and does bad work!! The worst!! I discussed and asked for a complete re-pipe of my waste water lines. They back and forth was crazy but finally whole house for $8000!!! I thought instead of calling a re-pipe company for less than half for a whole house, I will use a professional plummer. I knew I had some issues that would need an experienced hand. I told them, "I don't want to have to worry about this for 30 years". Now only 5 months later, come to find that they did NOT re-pipe my home from the appliance, they cut into the cast iron and put only partial new pipe. Now there is a leak in that connection I paid 8 grand! Also the charge was supposed to be so high because they were going to go through dry wall and checkout and price another leak. That never happened!!! The invoice is another bait and switch!! It is written on the invoice, twice, that they were going to cut into our drywall to check it out but that never occurred. How much of the 8 grand was for that?? Then when I called to ask them to fix the leak, they made me feel like not only was it my fault but that I asked for work not to be done. If that were the case, why charge full price? Why would I or my husband ask for work NOT to be done that were were charged for?? I feel like this company is a big rip off and bait and switch. There is SO much more I want to say about this experience but forget it. Just don't waste your time or get charged twice the price by these theifs!!! Unfortunate sketchy and inconvenient experience. We wasted the whole day after being informed of a time frame 11-2, and then later and later. Wasted the whole day. They finally showed and then quoted us an amount over $100 more than other quotes we've gotten for a new/2nd faucet/filter install. And this was with us doing the drilling ourselves first lol. Are you kidding me? $480? They cited some industry standard pricing, which is a flat out lie and unethical to tell customers... when my husband confronted them about it, he was deferred to the company owner who was cagey and then claimed it was an internal pricing system. Very sketchy if they're telling that to customers who don't know any better and go with the company's estimate (assuming a national standard pricing system) rather than continuing to gather more quotes. I called Drain Right on a Tuesday morning and they dispatched "Renato" to our home. Our experience with Renato was very informative, thoughtful, and genuine. My previous experience with other plumbing companies were good and the problem was resolved for the time being, but comparatively to the other technicians Renato went above and beyond to really find the root of the problem. My pipes were backed up in my duplex apartment, thanks to roots outside. It took my landlord's preferred contractors two days to do nothing but break my dryer vent and make my system even more backed up. Awful on so many levels. Where do I begin? I called to fix a simple shower drip. First appointment set for between 12:00-2:00. 2:00 rolls by. No word from them. I call and the rep says someone forgot to dispatch a plumber, but we'll have someone there by 3:00. They call back around 2.55 and say someone will be there between 4:00-5:00. Rookie plumber shows up around 7.00pm. Doesn't have a basic part. Has to get it in the morning. Comes to the house 10:30am next day. After 2 hours of trial and error, drip not fixed and he admits he has no idea what he's doing. I call for another plumber. They say someone will be here between 1:00-2:00. It's now 2:00. Hector the technician showed up ready and prepared to handle a simple job and it turned out to be more challenging due to a pipe that was difficult to remove. He immediately reassessed the situation and was prepared and manage to bring out a Bigger Snake to snake out and had to cut through an old pipe and replace it with a new pipe. In my toilet, water was leaking from the tank into the toilet despite the machine working properly. It was obvious that the seal or overflow tube or valve needed to be replaced. In order to stop the leak, a technician Moses who came from Drain Right had to remove the tank, which is attached to the toilet with two screws and nuts from the bottom. The technician managed to remove one of the screws, but he could not remove the second one, since both the screw and the nut were rusted. Appropriate tools to remove the stubborn screw, the technician, apparently, did not have. So Moses in my absence suggested to my wife that the entire toilet be replaced, costing over $400. My wife trusted the technician's opinion and agreed. As a result, an invoice for $577 was presented to me and after negotiations with Moses' boss Rob lowered it to $450. It looks like the penny job cost me $450 for the sole reason that the technician could not unscrew the rusty bolt. Isn't that outrageous? read more

I had a coupon for drain cleaning for $45. First, they couldn't get the cable in the cleanout. Then they wanted to replace a section of the the main drain for $1000. Then they wanted to jet it for $750. Finally, they went in the p-trap under the sink (which is what I told them to do when they got to my house about 45 - 60 minutes before). It took them 10 minutes to fix it the way I told them to do it. Then they charged me $99. They never said there would be an upcharge! This company is a rip-off and doesn't honor their coupons! What seemed like an easy fix, 2 inside faucets and replace 3 leaking faucets outside , turned a little more time consuming for our tech Marco Zarate. He arrived on time with a mask on. I shared with him what I wanted done. He did an inspection , told me what he was going to do..great..he got to work. All went well until our main water turn off wouldn't stop leaking. It was late on day 1 and Marco wrapped up leakky pipe..turned off water and we pretended we were camping for the night. Marco returned the next morning..on time and with his mask. He had to use a press fittings mechanical wrench..and sealed that leaky pipe right up. He did a complete check under sink's and outside to make sure no leaks...everything perfect. Marco left his card and said if any problems call and he'd come right out..now that's service. I was having very little hot water flow in my kitchen faucet. I had also noticed loud knocking from my 12 year old water heater. We had done business with Drain Right in the past with good results, so I called them and asked for someone to come out. DaQuan was sent out, he assed the problem to be sediment build up in the water heater which had traveled thought the pipes and clogged my faucet. He gave me several options with varying prices, which he emailed to me so that I could review them. He did not pressure me into making a decision, instead left me, his business card with his personal cell number, if I had any further questions. We decided to have Drain Right replace the water heater, the faucet and both the hot and cold valves under the sink. The day of the appointment (that I chose) DaQuan and Elias showed up ready to work. They found there was so much sediment in my old water heater it could not be drained with a hose, but they were able to somehow get the water out. Also the pressure valve was no longer functional, which was scary. They took about 4 hours to complete the job which is what DaQuan had estimated. They were professional, courteous, answered all my questions, explained what and why. They were mindful of my home and made sure they put on shoe coverings each time they came inside. They cleaned up after themselves before leaving. I now have a brand new water heater with sediment trap, a scale reduction system and a 10 year extended warranty. Had Rafael come and give me an estimate on a clogged drain. He called me before the time that he was supposed to come (between 8 -10) and let me know the exact time (9am). I think that was great so I didn't have to sit around for 2 hours wondering when he would show up. He showed up right on time, he proactively put shoe covers on (so didn't drag dirt around my house), walked my house to see all the possible drain / clear outs and explained to me what was going on. he quickly took care of the clogged drain, fixed a minor leak and cleaned up thoroughly after himself. We had a 85% closed waste line running under the slab, we chose to re-route a new line through the yard to the main line and eliminate the ongoing problem, and chose Drain Right to do a trenchless line. Johnathan came out Monday morning gave us an estimate, (a bit pricey) but a bit of negotiating we agreed. By 11:00 am that morning their guy Benjamin showed up and started working. We were told it would take 2-3 days so we were prepared. Over the next 2 days their crew (4 guys) worked tirelessly and the job was completed Wednesday as promised. Semi-retired, I have a ton of construction knowledge, and have to say, it was impressive the way those 4 guys worked together. They did run into some snags but they handled it very well and with NO EXCUSES. My compliments to Johnathan and Benjamin and the whole crew for a job well done. My neighbors, who also are experiencing under slab issues, have also inquired, and witnessed the job they've done, and I have recommended this same crew to them. I have only done 1 yelp in the past, but I Really want to compliment Benjamin and the 3 young men that did our job, and Johnathan for his honesty. My kitchen sink garbage disposal broke down. When I flipped the switch on the only thing happened was a low humming sound from the motor. I contacted Drain Right Plumbing Services and schedule a visit from one of their technicians on Saturday morning. I received a call from them around 8:45AM that day that a technician will be arriving around 9:30AM depending on traffic. He didn't arrive till 9:50AM, a bit late but not a big deal. As for the actual repair, turned out he literally turned a crank somewhere and the garbage disposal was up and running again in like 2 minutes, boy was I surprised!!! He wasn't going to charge anything for his service, but I insisted him taking $20 for his time driving down down and fix my problems. He did ask for a good Yelp review, which I did. Be Ware of their "TREE ROOT video SCAM"!! They would offer you a "FREE" video camera service. What I didn't know at that time (until I get the second opinion from another plumber) was that they use some PREVIOUSLY RECORDED video clips to show you that your pipes and main sewer pipe were damaged by the nearby tree roots (about 40 feet away!) and they are leaking slowly. They even wet the ground to stage the scene as if the pipe does have a slow leak and make me believe that it is a serious concern. Thank goodness I had a honest second opinion from another plumber! Workers of Drain Right Plumbing are very well orchestrated scam artists. Camera operators would go up on the roof and use the ventilation pipe to insert the small video camera (so you won't be able to see their actual camera operating movements.) Then a supervisor would show you the "previously recorded" video clip that shows the tree root which are causing the cracks and leaks on your pipes. The pipe is so filled with the roots that they would urge you to fix it right away. Since I was still hesitant to decide whether I should fix it or not right away, they would even bring their manager to threat you that the pipes will eventually damage your entire foundation and structures of your house too. All I needed from Drain Right was to unclog our bathroom drainage. They are desperate to make extra money by offering the "Free" video camera service. Be ware of the scam. Or you will pay a ton of $$$$$ for unnecessary work. read more

Our Rheem's water heater pilot light went out over Memorial weekend and after a company that said they would be coming out backed out hours before on Memorial Day, we called Drain Right. DR was on Rheem's list of contacts and they also had great reviews on Yelp. Henry came out within an hour and trouble shot the problem but because it was a holiday, couldn't get the part and said he'd try to find it and come back 10am-12noon the next day. Always hard to write a subjective review when the outcome and results are not positive for both parties. Here is the story and you can decide...Beginning of April 2021 called Drain Right told them "kitchen drain not flowing clean out in front of house easy access." Within two hours of the call service van and Drain Tech Juan arrived. He looked at the set up and access said it will be $45 dollars. In just moments the drain cleaning machine was out and the cable snake was deployed. After a few minutes and a lot of noise...Juan said he could not pull the cable snake back out...asked if we have a crawl space? Was able to open the closet door in the house and access the trap door leading to the requested crawl space. Juan opened it and running across the dry dirt was the cable snake. Juan said wow guess it broke thru the pipes. He went down tried to free the cable and had to saw the cable free. He then packed up all of his equipment and then told me he would work up a price for me. 10 to 15 minutes later he came back and quoted a starting price of $2,200.00 to fix and replace all the pipes to the cast iron. After which was able to get a new price for 5 feet of replacement PVC for $675.00. Additionally, the work cannot be done until tomorrow afternoon and we cannot use the kitchen sink until the repairs are done. The fact I never signed a work order, Disclosure Agreement, an approval of work or was warned that if the equipment used could cause damages or destroy existing plumbing or anything else, they can be held harmless and charge whatever. Also, no photos or any proof of the extent of damage that could support $2,200.00 of work were presented. Upon the return of Juan, the following day I spoke about and voiced my concerns from no warnings of possible damage and did not think I should pay for any repairs. Zero proof of the extent of damage and I did not sign anything. (how would I know if the cable just dislodged a pipe connection and it just needed to be put back together?) We agreed that I would talk to his supervisor and work this out. He (Juan) told me I could get other quotes. We spoke with Drain Right told them (scheduler) of our concerns and were told that Rob a manager would call us back. Drain Right, more like Drain Wrong. They will rip you off and leave you in the sewer. I almost got fooled by these guys twice. I am writing this because people should know what they are getting into when they call Drain Wrong to their home in a plumbing emergency. They are crooks! My 1st experience with Drain Wrong was when my driveway was flooded because the pump that pumps rain water from the drive way out to the public street was not working. I live on a property that has two homes on it. We are the back unit and we share a driveway with the front unit. The driveway goes down in elevation from the public street so we need to pump rain water that builds in the driveway out to the street. There were heavy rains and the driveway began to flood because the pump wasn't working. My 70-year-old front unit neighbor said she would call plumbers to fix it. Drain Wrong came out and almost had this 70-year-old woman signing a contract on behalf of both our properties for $16 GRAND. She called me, I dealt with the plumbers from Drain Wrong and we averted disaster by not signing the contract and by getting a 2nd opinion from a plumbing company that was not trying to rip people off. Instead of diagnosing the problem correctly by learning the pump was to blame, Drain Wrong said it was necessary to rip up the entire concrete driveway and replace all the underground pipes leading out to the street. Multiple plumbers from Drain Wrong said the same thing. I continuously asked if it was the pump was to blame and they all told me it was not. They put pressure on me to enter into a contract by saying that if I did not do this work I would be in violation of city rules and could get in to trouble for not doing it. Fortunately, I called an honest plumber and he diagnosed the problem correctly and we purchased a new pump and there has not been an issue for the last 2 years. Replacing that pump cost $800.00 which is a lot less than the $16K Drain Wrong wanted which would NOT have fixed the problem. In my 2nd experience with Drain Wrong, I had a plumbing emergency on a Sunday and called a general plumbing service that finds local plumbers and has them sent out to your home the same day. Drain Wrong was called out to my house. I had a severely clogged toilet and was in need of a plumber, so I allowed Drain Wrong to come and see if they could fix the issue. At my doorstep, even before the plumber from Drain Wrong had entered into my home to look at the problem, he was telling me that it was a clog in the "main line" leading out to the sewage. I asked him to come in and look at the problem but he said he did not have to because of how I described the problem. He said he would have to replace the main line leading out to the sewer before he even looked at the problem and said it would easily cost up to $3K. I asked him to look at the problem, he did and brought in a large snake. He snaked the toilet and it remained clogged and then said, "yep, it is the main line." He said I had to enter into a $3K contract right there or I would not be able to use the restroom. He said if did not do this I would be in violation with the city. Not knowing much about plumbing, I explained that I would like to get a 2nd opinion and explained it would be alright for a few days since I had two other toilets in the home that worked. I then asked if he was sure it was the "main line" that was the problem since two other toilets were actually functioning in the home. That is when he started to back off the idea that the clog was in the main line. I am not a plumber and know nothing about plumbing, but it makes sense that if the "main line" was clogged and needed to be replaced that the other two toilets, showers and sinks in the home also would not be draining. When I asked that question he then said it was the toilet. He said it would be necessary to buy a new toilet from Drain Wrong for $700.00. If I didn't do it the problem would move to the main line and cause plumbing issues all throughout my home. I figured he was right and I scheduled them to come out with a new toilet 3 days later and I would pay them $700. Luckily, before Drain Wrong came out to do the installation I had an honest plumber come to my home. He simply plunged the toilet, which I had done numerous times before Drain Wrong came out and snaked it, and it magically flushed properly. I called Drain Wrong and told them I did not need their $700 toilet. Drain Wrong is a bunch of crooks. They scare people that have plumbing emergencies so they can "up-sell" them on things that don't fix the problem. They use peoples' ignorance of plumbing to take advantage so people enter into contracts that are not needed. They threaten you with being in violation of city codes and falsely say the problem will spread so that you enter into a contract for thousands of dollars while under stress.
