Our external faucet had an internal leak and Savannah from the Drain Terrier team was quick enough to respond as well as answer my queries regarding it. Gary came in within the next couple days and was quick to diagnose the issue and could locate the exact connection spot of the spigot to the water pipes through the ceiling followed by quickly replacing it with a new one. Sure enough the old one had a big hole which caused the leak. Gary was knowledgeable and courteous enough to explain why the spigot burst in the first place and how to prevent the same with my new one. read more

**Update** As a result of writing this review, I was contacted by Savannah (the owner) within a couple hours. I was offered a full or partial refund, whatever I wanted in order to make me feel better about my interaction with the company. I offered my option and it was promptly taken care of. I was also assured that although there were 2 workers I was only charged labor for 1. She said that was just how they did it since her dad was older and not as strong. The work was done correctly and they were pleasant. Unfortunately I still will not be using their services again as I feel they are on the expensive side. Although this is just my opinion. *** Well I learned a lesson the hard way today. I've never had to have work done at my house so I did miss one thing about having someone come out for a free estimate. Ask what the estimate is when they don't offer it to you, before they start work. That was my mistake. So first bad thing they were scheduled to come out between 10:30-11:30. Got a call from Savannah at almost 10:30 that previous job was giving then trouble so they'd be here by 12. Noon came, no one here. I was getting ready to call the office and I got a text at 12:07 that said they were on their way. Showed up at my house sometime around 12:45. There were two guys, Tracey (the owners father) and Gary, wasn't sure why 2. Most plumbers work alone. You have to pay more for 2 plumbers than 1. They hurriedly got to work looking into the issue. I gave them a pretty good idea of what I thought it was. Tracey confirmed that seemed to be what it was but that they'd check my crawl space and cut open a section of ceiling downstairs just to be sure. At this point I'd forgotten about getting an estimate and they did not offer a cost to me. They just kinda started working at it. Once they were done and he gave me the price I about dropped my jaw, $575 for just under or around 1 hour worth of work. Spoke to a few people afterwards and they all agreed that was way to much money. Here's what they did: over $125 for a new water supply line to toilet and new shut off valve and labor for the install. They cut a 1 ft X 1 ft hole in a ceiling they charged $225 for that. Then $225 for what I assume was the rest of the labor charge. Had they actually remembered to give me the quote or if I had remembered to ask for it before they just jumped in, I would have passed on their services. Even knowing nothing about hiring or the cost of a plumber that seemed way to high. The mark up on the 2 parts alone I would have known was ridiculous. read more

I called Drain Terrier because I was having issues with my kitchen faucet. They accommodated my schedule and showed up on time, which is not always a given. I've had a lot of issues getting my sprinkler guy to show up the week before. Tracy, their technician was talked me through what needed to happen and gave me the price before he started. They charged me a reasonable price and it was the same as what they quoted me over the phone. They let me pick out the new faucet I wanted and replaced in about an hour. It was nice to not have to deal with a salesman. He came to get the job done and didn't try to fix everything in my house to make more money. read more

Drain Terrier was great! Quick to respond and answer my questions about installing the Flo by Moen smart meter and automatic shut-off system. They've installed them before, were affordable, and were happy to have the plumber call me to answer questions. Not many plumbers had experience with Installing the Flo but these guys do (more with the plumbing, less with the app and pairing via WiFi) and did a great job on mine. read more

I didn't have any hot water and hired the first plumber to respond. Terry from the office and her father who came out seemed nice. Despite a friend of mine correctly telling Drain Terrier where leaking water was coming from, I was charged a $250 "leak search" which they later called a "leak fix". I was also told I needed a $25 part and it would cost $125 to put it on. The next morning, I still didn't have any hot water. I called and was told that I needed a new hot water heater. I asked then why was I charged $400 the day before? There was no mention of any kind of refund. Terry said her father would "work out something" towards installing a new one. Meanwhile, her father said the warranty company was hard to work with so I should call one of their authorized installers. I would have understood paying SOMETHING as a service charge but I was out $400 and gained nothing. Now I have to pay another plumber to look at it and confirm to the warranty company that it isn't fixable. I asked if they could send me a receipt so I could at least explain what had been done so far. I didn't receive a response. I am disputing the $400 charge on my credit card because my water heater is not fixable and at the very least, I feel I was overcharged. The new plumber is working with the warranty company and will install a new one tomorrow. read more
