1000$ down the poorly installed drain. Drainhelp.com came out to do a toilet install and install the drain on a new vanity/sink. The toilet install seems fine but the drain assembly was very poorly done. No putty was used on the drain leaving a small drip, and one of the gaskets in the p trap was not tightened. The loose gasket was easily tightened by hand, but the leak went unchecked for a few days and ended up ruining the vanity. When i contacted them i was told that "it's not the plumbers fault" and was basically blamed for not inspecting their work. After a not friendly back and forth conversation i settled for a refund which i still have not received. After purchasing a new vanity and watching a 3 minute youtube video I was able to install the sink and drain which has remained leak free. Lesson learned is just because a "professional" does the work doesn't mean it's correct. always check people's work. The main reason for the bad review is i could never recommend a service that doesn't have the integrity to correct their mistakes. read more

Called the company at a little before 1:47PM and asked about having someone come out to look at our clogged toilet. I was told by the person on the line that he could have someone out there within an hour, and to text him my address. After texting my address, I sent a follow-up (within minutes) to also have the person call my phone when they arrive as my doorbell was not working. Unfortunately I did not hear a response until closer to 3:30PM (and well past the one hour window he told me about). I asked at 4:12PM if there was an ETA, and after not hearing back I requested to cancel the appointment at 4:26PM,m at which point there was an immediate response. The problem that I have with this is the lack of communication; if he couldn't have someone out there within an hour, why not provide me with a more accurate timeframe? If someone was on the way but the job ran long, there was something unforeseen, a message would have been appreciated. I am very grateful to Ali and his crew for saving the day. We noticed our toilets were backing up. We figured it may have used too much paper and it clogged the toilets. It is an old house so didn't seem too scary. We called a few plumbing companies to get quotes on snaking the pipes. Turns out it isn't affordable. We just bought the house and have a baby on the way so you can imagine we really cared about finding value and fair prices. When we reached Ali we felt relieved. Ali was very helpful. We found ourselves with a sink full of dirty, chunky water. We tried the disposal and found it just made a jacuzzi in our sink.... Then we cleaned out everything underneath and turned off the water. I hate and love El Nino. San Diego needs the up coming rain but this gal doesn't exactly have a ton of discretionary money to spend on cleaning clogged storm drains. I've researched tons of drain companies and have been discouraged by the prices as well as the people on the other end of the line who seemed annoyed by questions that were being asked (by me). DrainHelp was courteous on the phone and had flexible hours (even as late as 6p). They give quotes over the phone but will also come in person to scope out the work as well. Ali came over recently to hydrojet our storm drains and all I can say is DAYUUMMMMM - it's A.L.O.T. of work. I thought you just shoved the 3000psi hydrojet into the pipe and bam - everything's cleaned out. I was thoroughly impressed with the man muscle that it took for Ali to clean out our clogged storm drains. When he finally got the hydrojet to snake to the yard, we literally had three black sewer smelling geysers shooting two feet in the air. It was amazing how much stuff was being pushed out by Ali using the hydrojet. The hydrojet loosens the roots and debris that's in the drains but ours required him to snake the drains as well. I think the snaking and the hyrojetting combined was the reason he was able to clean out the drains. We couldn't believe it when he showed us the drains now, well, DRAIN. The company offers a one year warranty (something alot of drain companies do not - trust me - I've researched) so that's comforting to have in your back pocket in case the drains back up again (I'll give an update if it does). DrainHelp isn't the cheapest but it definitely is not the most expensive. Ali worked hard on this job and we felt it was money worth spent for a much needed home maintenance expense. We were also grateful there was a yelp deal so make sure to look for that if it's still being offered. Also look on DrainHelp's website as they have some other discounts you can inquire about. Ali got the job done effectively and efficiently. In less than an hour, he assessed the situation and unclogged my stubborn kitchen drain that another plumber couldn't fix (required hydro jetting). Plus, he guaranteed it for a year. It was a pricey job, but was well worth it -- especially since it was done on Christmas Eve during COVID. He responds really quickly and was right on time. In fact, he answered my post within minutes of inquiry and arrived 90 minutes after I called. He also gave me some tips on how to keep the drain clear (so that he didn't have to come back in a years time and unclog it again). One thing to note though, where Ali excels in efficacy and getting the job done, he lacks in the little nuances of courtesy. Don't expect details of care like wearing shoe covers or cleaning up some spots of spillage on the walls and floor. We also had to use our own towels and bucket to keep things clean. That said, it wasn't that big of a deal. He didn't leave much mess and worked in way that prevented bigger issues like flooding the house or wasting time trying too many things. He also kept his mask on the entire time, which I appreciated, especially with a 4 month year old in our small condo. In the end, I recommend him and would definitely call him up again. Our 2" line from the kitchen to the street was slow to drain. A year ago, we had the plastic line snaked. To solve this ourselves, we poured ample drain products down the disposa. We called Ali in the evening to help us with a massive and sudden clog in our line, and he came right away to diagnose and fix the issue. He discovered that from our house to the street, there was an old cast iron pipe that had effectively cracked all the way through. He gave us a quote on the spot and after he cleared out the clog, we agreed to have him come and replace the old line with a new one. He returned the next day first thing and his worker Rafael started digging under our foundation and planter beds to get to the old line. Rafael did a great, clean job in a very difficult area, digging out and under a lot of hardscape areas, and replacing the pipe with new ABS, adding a two-way cleanout. Ali made sure to send progress photos during the job and at the end of each day (which wasn't long, with how quickly Rafael dug it out). Rafael was assisted by Jesus, who worked on repairing the concrete pad that was cut through to get to the pipe. Jesus did a great job listening to our concerns (it is an old house with uneven landings) and was able to pour a brand new slab to replace the old one. Now we have working pipes and won't have to worry about them in the future, as well as a a new slab that we won't be tripping on anymore. Found them on Yelp and communicated initially by text. Very impersonal, owner didn't bother to get my name; only asked for my address. The first Ali showed up, About 10 mins in I had to ask for his name. Spent about an hour trying to clear my kitchen drain. He did educate me on a few things though. He spent more time expressing his frustration that there was no clean out. Finally told me someone else would be coming to clear by snaking the line. That guy, also named Ali spent almost 2 hours and admitted he couldn't clear the line either. They did charge me $125, even though the original estimate was $485. Fast forward to today and ATC plumbing took less than 15 mins to clear the line with no problem saving me hundreds of dollars. It's been 2 days and I'm still waiting on a receipt.
