Stop by this place while visiting Louisville. Checked hours and it said closes at Midnight. As I drove in saw people's food being served. Walked in and ask a young waitress if the kitchen was open and she said no without even stopping to look at me. I understand restaurant kitchens close a little earlier than the actual time, but almost an hour? Only reason I gave a 2 star instead of 1 was because I had the food before and it was pretty good. read more

Went in for the first time Friday 1/22/22 and hostess didn't even look up just said "go sit at the bar".. I didn't want to sit at the bar so she says sit at that little two person high top. No where to put our jackets so asked for a table. Said you can sit at the back at a table that the chairs were so low my chin was at the edge of the table!!!! That was enough, we got up and walked out and no one even questioned us.... I will never go back!! They are too much like too many other restaurants!!! Very sad!!!!! I love this place. I am so happy to have Drake's on Hurstebourne Lane. We have frequented this location many time for dining but I want to to take time to review my delivery. I have order delivery twice, with my most recent being last evening. I am so impressed with Drakes. We received every thing we ordered, including extra dressings and ketchup. Our nachos with topping were packed individually for us to put together when we received it so our nachos weren't soggy. Our food was hot, tasted amazing and just what we were looking for after a hard days work. I plan to use Drake's delivery again...and again....and again. read more

Food is good but a little pricey for what you get. Love the beer towers. Service has really declined over the last couple of years. We live within walking distance of the restaurant and would visit more often if we could get decent service. Yesterday we arrived around 4pm and waited 20 minutes for someone to greet our table and take our drink order after being seated. Then we waited another 30-40 minutes for our burgers to arrive. The food is pretty good for bar food. I recommend any of the burgers (minis included), JB bites, chicken chopped salad, and fried pickles. If you like good sushi this isn't the spot. If you're into fried rolls and dressed up rolls then you'll probably like the sushi. If you're a sashimi and nigiri fan I would pass. read more

Great place to grab dinner after seeing a movie at AMC "next door". Cold beer, tasty burger and a very nice atmosphere.

The food was delicious but we had to send it back once and our waitress wasn't too friendly but overall was okay and would maybe come back.

This was the first time I had eaten at Drakes in quite some time. We ordered for curbside pickup. The bartender answered the phone and was so nice - she went over a few things on the menu with me and told me how to get the order in. We ordered, picked up and Carolyn brought our order out to us. Again, a very friendly young lady and seemed to happy to be there (says a lot for Drake's). She took our payment, thanked us and invited us back. And the food? Oh My Gosh!! Went for lunch walked in seated ourselves. Once waitress took our drink order just walked off never asked for appetizer. Waited 10 min for her to come back to get our order. Waited 25 min and she came out and said someone took your appetizer to another table so had to wait even longer. Then brought all our food out together which I hate. We came with our two boys. They were totally entertained by the tv and it was a noisy place so didn't have to worry about them being too loud. My husband and I had the filet and rangoon roll with sweet potato fries. The steak wasn't anything to jump around about. I loved the sushi though and I never eat sushi! It was excellent! Oh my stars I am so thrilled that they opened a location even closer to me. Service was incredible, food was cooked to perfection. Their mini burgers with the Parmesan garlic Mayo cannot be beat. The Nick's club is the best club sandwich in town. (Pro tip: get it with a side of that garlic Mayo instead of the regular Mayo). The manager Matt even came to our table and was so nice. This was my first visit to Drake's, and maybe it was just an off day, but the chances of my giving them a second try are pretty slim. The service was not bad, nor was it that good. It was 'meh'. And I should have known better than to order the sushi when I discovered they had NO Japanese beer. The server recommended the Chicago roll -- I don't. It sounds interesting -- avocado, seared filet mignon, cream cheese, and asparagus spears -- but as it turns out, it's difficult to 'sear' a wafer-thin sliver of filet mignon, so the meat ends up tasteless, and you're left with a roll consisting mostly of rice and cream cheese, and, oh yes, a teeny little spear of overcooked asparagus. The slice of avocado was the best part of the roll. I pointed out to the server that the 'seared' meat was overcooked, and she was stunningly unconcerned. The best part of my meal was the beer, even though it wasn't Japanese. read more

I can see myself coming back for date night with my wife, dinner out with my family (at a place my teenage daughters will love) and watching football with my brother. The service was great and everyone was nice and helpful but the food was awful. Do yourself a favor and go to the grocery store, grab some frozen food (fish sticks, tator tots, fries) go home and bake it in the oven for a better experience. My battered fish was somehow hot yet soggy. Microwaved maybe? Fries were stale. My husbands steak was metallic tasting and soggy too. Also tasted like it had been frozen. We have ordered takeout several times and the burgers & fries are always delicious. I tried something different tonight and ordered the California cobb salad. It was without a doubt the worst salad I've ever had. The chicken was so bland and cold and the lettuce tasted like dirt. Every ingredient was disappointing. On December 26th we visited the Hurstbourne location at about 3:15pm. We were to we would have about a10 minute wait not a problem. 3:22 we were told we had a table this is when I should have left. We were not seated by a host, the host pointed at a table and said that was ours. After about 15 minutes the waiter came and got our drink order not a big deal he was the bartender also so I understand. He took our order about 10 minutes later all good. A hour after we were seated he comes and says out ticket was lost that is why we haven't received out food yet. He said it would be out soon and that the manager would come over and work out something, ok cool. The manager didn't come over and we ended up with a different waiter. I didn't ask to see the manager because it did get busy because at this point it was the start of dinner. I thought the manager just did something to my bill to make up for the delay of our order. Nope we recieved the full bill, I didn't ask for the manager at this time either because I felt that this was going to be a waste of more time. The manager should have came to our table as soon as she was made aware of the problem and rectified the issue with out me asking to see her. read more

I worked here when they first opened. well long story short, i went back tonight for the first time since they deleted my schedule and let just tell ya... management was so rude! ordered the same thing as my mom and mine never came out. my mom asked for new sweet potato fries bc her were literally hard and cold and they said they were gonna remake it on the fly. okay, that's fine. no biggie. i get that shit happens in the service industry. been there, done that. well, my mom was done eating and my food still hadn't come out... management never came over to apologize or even express concern. so i had the bartenders remove my meal from my bill their self. service was great, bartenders were amazing, drinks amazing, management... unprofessional as hell. read more
