Super delicious, fresh, relaxing, and friendly boba shop! Tommy was super sweet and you can tell he really cares for his customers. Hard to come by such a wholesome sweet owner! We were visiting from SF and he gifted us each a small gift along with our yummy boba. His tea is super fresh and made daily, which I was pretty happy to learn about. Would definitely come back next time I'm in the area! read more

The tea flavor is strong enough that you can taste it!! I love the Hokkaido milk tea and their fruit teas. My friends and I came in during a weekend morning and we ordered 5 drinks in total and all of them were absolutely amazing. There's a lot of tea shops here in the area that tout that they have high quality ingredients, but the owner here really actually does use them and steeps them correctly. In fact, he even told us to not drink one of the teas until 3 hours later and another one until 6 hours later in order for the full flavor to come out. I absolutely appreciate a business owner that's willing to not compromise on quality and to inform the customer how to properly drink the tea. Hidden gem, will be coming again. read more

My husband and I are just visiting town and were craving boba, so we did a quick Google search and found this shop--and we are so glad we did We ordered the coconut smoothie and mango smoothie, both with brown sugar boba at 50% sweetness. They were perfectly balanced and super refreshing. The brown sugar boba had a great texture and flavor that complemented both drinks really well. We also tried the house-made black sesame crunch, which was excellent--crispy, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Honestly, we should've picked up another bag to take back home! The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the service overall was top-notch. Parking was also super convenient--just right off the street. Best boba tea in town! My boyfriend and I got the taro smoothie and the passion fruit mango tea at 50% sweetness level. This was my first time at this boba shop and i have to say IT IS ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE BEEN TO. The parking is really easy because there is plenty on the street. Also, there are plenty of seats and the environment is relaxing. Finally, the Free internet was another plus! Came here a few months ago and I must say the reviews really don't lie. I ordered Thai milk tea and taro slush and it did not disappoint. I'm usually very picky when it comes to taro but the taro here is sooo good. It's very authentic and true to its flavor. The owner here is very kind and took his time to make sure our order was correct. He puts a lot of passion when making these drinks which makes it extra good and special. You can tell he enjoys what he does and he takes the time to have a nice conversation with the customers. The ambiance of this place reminds me of a mom and pop shop which I love the most. Parking: street parking on one side of the street and a pretty busy parking lot. Overall not too bad, pcc can get hectic. I got orange jasmine green tea and it was the perfect level of sweetness for me at 100%. The owner is very attentive and the space is quiet for the most part. Had no problems with my drink but my friend had a drink that was too sweet and was quickly fixed by the owner. Overall this is a really good quiet spot, but no open outlets so studying seems limited. A great spot to catch up with friends. I wish the AC was a little colder but still comfortable to sit in and enjoy. read more

Decided to go to a new spot near school today and it was very pleasant. The owner Tommy is so nice! I got my usual thai tea with boba, something I get at every boba spot to test their drinks out. I was hungry as well and I tried the cut up pork bites, with seasoned egg, came with broccoli and radish and a fish ball. It hits the spot and reminded me of home, a dish my mom used to make. On this weekday I came for the Jasmine Milk Tea. Last time this was under the Tea Latte section, but they menu changed and there is now a dedicated Milk Tea section. And also there is a Jasmine Latte with Espresso in it, but that is under the Espresso section. I was able to get it chilled but without ice. The lowest sweetness level was 50%, but I asked nicely and they estimated they could make a 25% for me. It turned out wonderfully, extremely floral, barely any sweetness so the Jasmine aroma and taste were the dominant ones. In the food side I selected the popcorn chicken. I can take some heat but only a small bit, so I asked for the spice powder in the side. I just looove the texture of the popcorn chicken. You can see in the picture that it's a very thin breading, almost not there, but the texture seems almost as if an invisible rice flour was tossed in the outside. Still juicy in the inside, and small pieces to make every bite pop-able. The chicken comes with a ranch sauce, though to me it's a second thought. Add a hint of spice or even have the chicken as is, no ranch is needed.

Slimy matcha (I'm guessing the dairy may have been old), and I got sick about an hour after coming…read morehere. The Paws were also pretty underwhelming and tasted very artificial. The matcha foam was literally pulling with the straw like slime :/ I really wanted to like this place, but the experience was disappointing. When I asked the girl at the front if the matcha was supposed to look like that, she said yes because they apparently put something in it to make it thick. She did offer to remake it, but I said no because if the texture was intentional, wouldn't a replacement have been just as slimy? I was later offered a free drink if I emailed them 24 hours in advance. I'll give an extra star for the offer, but no thanks. After getting sick and having such a bad experience, I don't understand why I'd willingly come back for another drink.

The raspberry cream on top didn't add much flavor either. I also grabbed a day-old pastry. It was pretty hard and had a slightly stale crème-brûlée-like top, although I'll give it credit -- once warmed up, it was actually pretty delicious. Overall, 3 stars. I like the concept and the convenience, but unfortunately nothing I had was quite good enough to make me want to come back anytime soon.

They used to use very high quality matcha but the matcha used now is completely different. I was really looking forward to enjoying the matcha latte because it used to be one of my favorites but this was most likely the worst matcha latte I've had. Overall, the panini was good but the matcha wasn't good at all so I will definitely not get the matcha again!

The most welcoming and friendly boba shop I've ever visited! Tommy, the owner, greeted me with such warmth and excitement, instantly putting a smile on my face. He went above and beyond, offering thoughtful gifts like hand sanitizers and a phone charger--it was such a kind gesture! But it's not just the hospitality that shines--the milk tea is amazing! My personal favorite is their house milk tea at 25% sweetness with extra grass jelly. The grass jelly, made in-house, has a slight firmness that I really enjoy. Went here with a friend for the first time this afternoon to try out new Boba places, and this spot did not disappoint. I had the Roasted Oolong Milk Tea and the drink was very good and was done quickly. The shop overall had a very cozy vibe and the owner Tommy was very sweet and enthusiastic. Out of all the Boba places around Pasadena City College, this one stands out as underrated and deserving of more attention. Their Peach Oolong and Passionfruit black tea with their jellies. They don't do the typical coconut based small pieces of jelly, instead opting for house made with jelly. The price of these drinks is super reasonable, the tea quality great, and the jellies refreshing and delicious. 2. On the more premium side price wise, the taro milk tea here is nonetheless worth it. They use 100% real taro. No syrup. No powder. On top of that, even compared to other places which use real taro, this is the best iteration of the drink I've had. Subtly earthy and only slightly sweet, creamy, even with oat milk. An incredible drink. The vibe is relaxing and nice. Service is solid to great, depending on who is working. The owner is very kind!!! Seating is pleasant. Parking is the only issue since the city metered everything, but if you're grabbing a going, try the Total Wines or Target lot. You'll be fine. We ordered from a screen; call me old fashioned, but I like being greeted and the place wasn't busy enough to justify such a streamlined experience. We ordered the original waffle with vanilla ice cream. It took about 10 minutes as we entertained ourselves with the claw machine and got lucky - twice. The waffle was crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, with a distinct fortune-cookie flavor. It was delicious, and paired perfectly with the vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. We did not get a filling nor try the delectable appearing chocolate waffle - next time! Prices were elevated - $8 for the waffle and $2.50 for the ice cream (complete with whipped cream and chocolate syrup), but the unique product was absolutely delicious. While my undergraduate career was 20 years ago, I really can appreciate a place like this. Were I a student at PCC, I would simply live at this establishment. The shop is conveniently located directly across from Pasadena City College, which makes it a great spot for students looking to grab drinks or food between classes. The downside is parking. There's very limited parking in the back and a lot of nearby residential streets have "no parking" signs, so finding a spot can be a little annoying. The shop itself is a decent size and definitely seems popular with students hanging out, studying, or working on assignments. Personally though, the atmosphere didn't feel especially warm or cozy to me compared to some other boba shops I've visited. The layout also felt a bit narrow, which was difficult navigating with my son's stroller. That said, what the shop lacked in atmosphere for me, it definitely made up for with the drinks and food. I ordered a 16 oz jasmine milk tea and even though I had to pay extra for boba (which brought the total to almost $5.50), the drink itself was honestly pretty good. I was also hungry, so I tried the pork buns, which ended up being tasty and surprisingly filling. You get four for around $13. While I do think you could probably get a larger meal elsewhere for the same price, the quality itself was still good. One thing I appreciated is that they have a larger food menu than most boba shops. Besides milk teas and fruit teas, they also offer popcorn chicken, appetizers, soups, rice dishes, sandwiches, smoothies, coffee, and even ice cream drinks. Customer service was excellent. The staff were polite, efficient, and kind throughout the visit. So I was very excited to find Mehfil, which has just the cozy vibe I'm looking for. The dining room is full of cushy chairs, with a small lending library near the counter, and soft music. There are still have tables if you want to eat or work, so it's a nice study space as well. It's also conveniently located right on Lake and Green, so it's an easy walk from PCC or Caltech. The coffee is Indian-inspired, and the pastries come in a unique blend of flavors, so the offerings here stand out among the many cafes in the area. I recommend the pistachio latte! They also sell gelato, and have a nice array of affogato options, so you get the best of coffee and sweets. I highly recommend this spot to anyone who's looking for somewhere nice to relax with a hot drink or a treat!
