Had the senior catfish with pinto beans fries and cornbread. All was very good and waitress was top notch.

Fried pork chop, okra, cornbread, and greens in the bottom container. Fried chicken breast and cornbread in the top.

Juiciest fried chicken I've EVER HAD!! It was soooo good! We had a fried chicken breast, fried pork chop, okra, cornbread, and greens. My only negative: parking lot is small (as in people don't know how to drive and our car accidentally got hit by someone trying to turn around) so park on the street and don't risk it! My only less than stellar thoughts: the cornbread was dry, wish it wasn't, and I would've liked the greens to have more flavor from the meat it's cooked in. We will definitely be back! Can't wait to try the catfish and smother pork chops. The staff was super friendly and welcoming! We love a cute family owned restaurant where we feel like family! GO!!! RUN!! It is worth the try!!

So my baked chicken was superb, the green beans were perfect and the mashed potatoes were fine once I put a little salt on it. Service was as great and it filled up quickly with other customers. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the down home feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Yes I'll be back,

Good old fashioned southern soul food is what they're know for. Get your taste buds ready and experience the fried chicken or the fried pork chops. I love them both so I always get 2 plates. The service is prompt as this place fills up quickly. It's good to eat in or just as good to take out. The greens, yams, and fried corn are my favorite vegetables here, but come and try for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

The best food I've had in years. The fried chicken is delicious, but the veggies were my favorite. From the cabbage to the collards (which I ended up ordering a pint to take with me) this place knows how to prepare authentic, flavorful food for the soul. And as a nice bonus they have cherry kool aid slushes!! Krystal was my server and she was very attentive and didn't mind helping me pick her favorites from the menu. The entire meal including two plates, a large drink, pint of collards, half dozen extra cornbread AND a delicious piece of italian cream cake were around $50. I tipped well for the great service. Be sure to keep their hours in mind, as they close the dining room service at 2:30, but you can order to go until 3. Closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday. If you're in the area I highly recommend!

This review can be quickly summarized as: Best fried chicken in DFW. I can't get chicken home, because I sit in the car and eat it all. Do yourself a solid and make your sides at home and get their chicken. Finger licking good.

Fried chicken, collard greens, and macaroni and cheese

Let me start by saying, I have been by this place a few times and they were always closed. Today was my lucky day. I ordered a small plate of chicken, fried of course, collard greens and Mac & cheese. The food came out, hot and smelling good. If y'all had smell-a-review, you 'd know what I was saying, lol. Every bite was good. So, good most people would say you could slap your mama (however, I would not say that since my mom is still on this earth and she'd slap me back ). The crunch on the chicken was so loud, you could hear it all over Fort Worth. Everything is served in Styrofoam, which is a plus because it's an easy carry out. One slight detractor, a little too much salt. Just drink plenty of water so your ankles won't be swollen. I noticed everybody was getting the sweet potatoes. That will be my next venture. I think if you want good down home Soulfood, you should try this place. I know I will be back.

Some people know and love soul food and some don't. Anyone that doesn't give Drew's Place four to five stars doesn't know or love soul food.

Are they still open? I live in Fort Worth and I've passed the restaurant several times during their alleged business hours; and the doors are closed and parking lot is empty.

Their hours can vary. I've seen them close for spring break in the past. I think this is truly a "mom and pop" place. Family owned business that will close for family. But don't let that deter you from trying again! The times when I catch them open,…

Went for the biscuits, but our very wise waitress, Adriana, warned us that the biscuits were made with lard. Well that knocked out a bunch or breakfast options. She was so sweet and actually went to the kitchen and marked the menu pointing out lard-free menu choices. On the menu. Using black ink dots. Above and beyond. So we regrouped our breakfast plans and went mainly vegetarian. The Herbivore was absolutely delicious! Antebellum cheese grits topped with garlicky kale, romanesco and a soft boiled egg. We added a second egg. Split with my hubby. So good!! My sister-in-law had the brioche French toast. French toast topped with honey better, fresh berries and pecan granola. Served with maple syrup. Amazing! Added the duck fat breakfast potatoes. Who knew that the flavor would be so enhanced with the onions, peppers and duck fat. Get this side! Not a coffee drinker, but my hubby really enjoyed the coffee that is sourced from Cusco, Peru. Adriana made sure that the cups were always full and hot. Thank you for the VIP service at Fixe Southern House. Resident discount applied. Born from Opelousas, Louisiana, breakfast served with a huge helping of southern hospitality. We started with the biscuits and cinnamon roll. I would recommend both. The biscuits came with a jam, honey and whipped butter. The cinnamon roll, which may look a bit underwhelming had a such a great crispy texture on the outside while still being fluffy on the inside. The icing wasn't too sweet and complimented the roll nicely. For the table, we had the pollo frito biscuit w/duck fat potatoes, Brisket Benedict w/okra and the Fixe Breakfast entree w/maple sausage and potatoes. The pollo Frito was delicious, the chicken was seasoned well and maintained crunch even within the biscuit. Duck fat potatoes were also good but were even better after adding some salt. The brisket benny was okay, the texture of the brisket was very odd and didn't really hold up to the egg. Although the okra had a great flavor the batter was a bit too thick which made it chewy. The Fixe breakfast was great and the maple sausage was perfect. Our waitress was Adriana, she was great and very helpful. Overall we would definitely come back and look forward to trying dinner one night.

I ordered the pork chop plate, and the server kindly let me try both a fried pork chop and a smothered one since I couldn't make up my mind. I also had fried cabbage and yams. The cabbage had a little unexpected heat to it, but that's actually the same way my family cooks theirs, so I ended up really enjoying it. One thing that stood out to me was the staff. I'm not sure if the restaurant is always staffed this way, but I was genuinely impressed that all the front-line workers were men -- and every single one of them was courteous, respectful, patient, and mindful of each customer. While I enjoyed my meal, I watched them treat each person who walked in with the same positive energy and attentiveness. If you're in the area, go support this restaurant. I arrived about 15 minutes later and once inside the cashier called for my order number then requested to see the card I paid with and my ID. In today's world it's comforting to know there are businesses verifying identity! Kudos!! Once seated at home I opened my container to hot fried catfish, tomatoes and okra, Mac n cheese and hot water cornbread. My first bite of everything was very good and seasoned to perfection. I got so full so quick that I wasn't able to finish but it made for perfect leftovers later that day. On to the desserts! My mom got a slice of pecan pie and I enjoyed the strawberry cake. Both were tasty and prepared perfectly! I will stop in again for fried pork chops when it's time for an off plan meal.
