I've always passed this place on Wade Ave and wanted to stop in. It did not disappoint! My caramel latte was delicious. The Nutella French toast and breakfast burrito were seriously so good. The pancakes were also so unique - yum! Service staff was super friendly. A business that does not answer their phone & does not include utensils in a take out order; this negates how good their food is. I am in Raleigh while my husband has surgery, we arrived to the orthopedic office early and I was not allowed to leave during surgery but was starving. I ordered delivery through Drift's website and had all the correct information. When that system transferred the information to DoorDash, the delivery address was wrong. The business doesn't answer their phone ! The recording says for urgent issues with orders to come to the cafe ?? And for other issues to text the number. Urgent issues are resolved by picking up the phone, a business who doesn't use one shouldn't do take out orders. I texted the business number, which was zero help. Thankfully the DoorDash driver was responsive to my text and corrected the delivery address. When the food arrived, it had no utensils for me to eat. What a waste of $50. read more

I've only come here for coffee which I ordered online and took to go. The restaurant was super busy when I went in to grab my drink. I liked that it felt really bright and beachy. I got the salted caramel coconut oat iced coffee drink. My drink was really good flavor wise but my cup was overflowing and had coffee all over it. I am ony receiving the food and not their beverage. The food takes a while to be ready for takeout. The price point on average is higher than restaurants serving similar menu items. The sides, unless you upgrade, is minimal. I could see the menu price being worth it if the sides were better in quantity and quality. The ambience is nice for a casual get together but too loud for a small group to hear each other indoors. The wait process was a dumpster fire which is unfortunate because the food was really good. We were put on a wait list and told that it would be 30 minutes. A little over 20 minutes later we noticed that the wait list was not changing and that other parties walking in and were being seated so we walked back in and were seated. My mom and I both started off with mimosas. For food it was the breakfast sandwich for me and the savory stack with a side of potatoes for my mom. Went today for the first time and everything was delicious! I had the blue cloud iced latte which was light and refreshing. Our server was wonderful, she was so friendly and made great recommendations for us! My friend and I both ordered the chicken Caesar wrap, but she got hers with fried chicken, so we split and each had one half grilled chicken one fried chicken half. The fried chicken Caesar wrap was my personal favorite, it was delicious and the chicken was crispy and perfect. The fries were also delicious and our serve got us a side of the aioli that usually comes with the breakfast potatoes. I also got the chia seed pudding to go and it's delicious. Since I was heading to Whole Foods in Raleigh on Wade Ave with the hubby, we decided to have an impromptu breakfast date at the new Drift. Being familiar with the Wilmington location, we were happy to have an opportunity to dine here. We went about 10:30a on a Sunday and there was a 35 min wait for inside but for first available, we were seated right away on the patio. Lots of sun , however out seat was partially shaded due to the umbrella at the table. A refreshing carafe was brought to us and we were able to place our drink orders. Hubby got the 'Amber' iced coffee and was able to sweeten it to his liking with raw sugar. We ordered the Big Brekkie to share - which came with bacon, toast, two perfectly toasted eggs, very well seasoned toasted tomatoes and mushrooms and some amazing breakfast potatoes. Beautiful atmosphere, light and airy like you would expect to find at the beach, where they originated. The outside area had picnic tables with umbrellas and three very small metal cafes tables and small uncomfortable chairs. I'm guessing to prevent lingering. The cappuccino was yummy and could be made with oatmilk, which I appreciated. My friend ordered the breakfast sandwich, which she said was an 8.5/10. The bacon was nice and crisp and the aioli was well done. I ordered the veggie breakfast burrito with greens. The presentation was nice. However, I couldn't taste the egg because there was too much goat cheese, which was overwhelming. I mean a little goat cheese goes a long way. It said it came with avocado, which I thought to mean, sliced fresh avocado, but it was more of a smash with the pico de gallo and didn't taste fresh. The greens were barely dressed, just a small couple of leaves, so I basically ate just plain greens. I love salad though with very little dressing, so it was okay for me, but probably too scant for someone who likes their "dressed". The service was sub par. The hostess was new, so she forgot to bring silverware to the table. Then when we needed it after the food got there, our server, or any server, was nowhere to be found. Easily solved though, because I just popped inside and grabbed a couple off of an empty table. I did notice that the serving staff was congregated at the bar where the food was coming out. But it wasn't very busy, so more time should have been spent checking on tables than chatting. We had to ask for more water, which is a pet peeve of mine. It was very obvious that that wine "water bottle" was empty, as were our glasses. Overall, the restaurant has only been open a month, so it's obvious they are working out the kinks. Though my experience this time was not great, I might check back in a few months to see if things are better. read more

I have been to this place a couple of times but today I was a little disappointed. They were out of a lot of stuff, smoothies and poached eggs? I ordered the grain bowl and the quinoa or rice was too hard and not cooked. They forgot the eggs and then I had to mention it which then they said oh they were out of poached eggs and could bring me a side of scrambled eggs. The kale also didn't seem super fresh. Then the breakfast bowl we ordered the bacon was under cooked and the potatoes were not crispy or cooked enough. I will say the avocado toast was very good! read more

I am honestly in shock writing this review, as I have never experienced such a negative experience in a cafe. I wanted to sit down and eat as I don't eat in my car but to my surprise they had a 30-50 minute wait. I put myself on the waitlist as suggested on the website. After placing myself on the waitlist, on the next screen it say save time order ahead so I decided to do so. After finally being called to be seated it was still 10 minutes before my food was estimated to be ready. Upon arrival I let the hostess know that I had an order placed ahead. She then said that it was only her second day so she needed to ask if it was allowed. After asking her fellow co-worker she was unsure as well and went to ask the manager. Before she asked the manager I expressed that I did not mind purchasing something else, I just wanted to sit down and eat my food that I purchased from them. After returning I was told that it didn't matter if I bought something I was not allowed to be seated in the cafe with a pickup order. I feel this is so distasteful to treat paying customers this way. Any other coffee shop or cafe would allow their patrons to sit and consume items purchased from them. Poor experience overall, super disappointed and will probably never return. read more

We had been to one of the Wrightsville locations recently and were very excited to see that this location recently opened in Raleigh. We arrived around 9:30 and were seated right away. Service was friendly, quick and attentive. As expected, food was fantastic! Everyone enjoyed the meal and can't wait to return. Lots of unique offerings and something for everyone. My only gripe is no chicken or turkey sausage!! I know that is more of a chain thing and not a location thing. By the time we had left around 10:15, they were full. Visited recently for a midweek late morning brunch and although the cafe was not very busy the wait to obtain our food orders (party of 3) was exceptionally slow AND the beverage prices (I had an iced latte of only average size--16-ozs.?) was unbelievably overpriced at $7.10!! Had the menu prices reflected the accurate cost (it didn't) there would have been absolutely no way I indulged in a drink that expensive. Food was average tasting, at best, and not particularly what I was expecting after previous online reviews I'd seen. Not sure if I would return only b/c there are plenty of other breakfast cafes in the RTP/Raleigh area in which to choose from. Patrons should be forewarned that a breakfast entree and beverage will cost at least $25, if not more, and I consider that pricey for breakfast foods! read more
