Breakfast started with prompt hot coffee and water I had the breakfast burrito and wife had the breakfast panini Both came out promptly and hot. The burrito was savory, and balanced, the chorizo well prepared The panini was crisp and well prepared as well. Staff friendly and attentive, and we added the blueberry muffin to finish. The newly renovated hotel with restaurant Drift is a welcome addition to the key. Additionally, the sunset from the eighth-floor dining area is unparalleled. An exciting menu awaits, including quality and portions, and a pleasant and accommodating staff. Management is superior and highly visible, assuring the guest that all will be satisfied. You will be seated by a friendly host/hostess, and occasionally, there is a very talented violinist during happy hour. Clam chowder was not hot and was extremely thick, more like a glue consistency, flavor ok. Branzino (special) was good, but too much farro. Blueberry mojito was good. Service was ok, but not great. Disappointing for price point. Will rethink a return. read more

We stayed at the Lido Beach Resort right before Hurricane Helen and I hope it has survived. We had an amazing meal watching the sunset over the water. The food, service and ambiance were all excellent. I especially loved watching the waiter interact with a teenage couple nearby. The couple was obviously out for a special evening but were clearly on a budget as they split a pizza and a dessert. The waiter treated them with the utmost respect - something that doesn't always happen in fancy restaurant. read more

My neighborhood group, Dinner Divas went to the Drift restaurant for dinner and the magnificent sunset view. There were 14 women in the group and we all enjoyed the great food and excellent service. I already want to go back even if it's a 30 minute drive. I had a Pasta dish with shrimp and a smoked Gouda sauce, and brought 1/2 home for a second meal. I also had the Caesar side salad which was also excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant and definitely will go back again. read more

The decor was great but hardwood floors and high ceilings made for a bit more noise than I would prefer for a romantic dinner with very nice ocean views. I was a little surprised by what seemed to be somewhat slow service although our waitress seemed to be the only person waiting tables in our end of the restaurant. When drinks arrived finally, they were good although my wife said her amaretto sour was more sour than amaretto. The calamari we shared was very tasty; hand breaded in house and fresh. Sadly it was a bit overcooked. The red snapper was delicious! No complaints there although I am curious why the tips (my favorite part) had been removed from every asparagus stalk. Enjoyable time at the Drift Kitchen and Bar. We were warmly welcomed by the host who seated us against a bank of windows overlooking Lido Beach. We started with Spinach Dip and Clam Chowder. The dip was served with Naan bread and was on point. The chowder was delicious with strong notes of bacon. For entrees we enjoyed both the pan seared grouper and snapper. The grouper was served over a bead of fresh spinach. The snapper was paired with a cauliflower risotto. Both were well cooked, nicely presented and delicious. For dessert we all shared a slice of Key lime pie. I'd recommend the Drift K&B. read more
