We stumbled upon Bird Dog Chicken and it turned out to be a great find. The restaurant is locally owned, with friendly staff and a steady stream of locals coming in for both dine-in and takeout. We ordered three of the Four Piece Chicken Tender boxes. Two were rolled in their Louisiana Hot and one in the classic Hot Buffalo sauce. The traditional Buffalo was the clear winner for us -- the Louisiana Hot had a bit too much of the 'Louisiana' seasoning for our taste. That said, both sauces were excellent: hot enough to satisfy without being painful, and packed with great flavor. Included Ranch sauce was great too. The chicken tenders themselves were nicely sized (noticeably bigger than Raising Cane's) and came with a generous portion of lightly seasoned fries. Everything was fresh and crispy. Location-wise, it's super convenient -- easy to hop back on the road or head straight to the beach afterward. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Orange Beach! Highly recommend.

Unfortunately my fish and potatoes were cold, cold and butter congealed. The greens were warm and good I had also ordered the cornbread. It was refreshing to see that it wasn't the usual cake like kind, plus not the ultra sweet kind either. More bread like with a hint of sweetness. Delicious. The fish and potatoes had a nice flavor but unfortunately the cold food spoiled the experience. Since I was a guest of my sister I didn't say anything about the cold food. What a disappointment. Maybe when I return things will be better.

Service, their service has got to be some of the most unfriendliness people in the southeast USA. Not a smile, small talk or even a polite thank you. The service does not check on you. If you want anything you have to ask for it. It also took about 45 minutes to get our food. I really wish the corporate office of Island Wings would shut it down and reopen with new management and new staff. This place has everything to make a fantastic local hang out except friendly staff !
