Where do I start? My experience here was phenomenal. The bartender, Amy, was extremely kind and very funny! She made sure we were taking care of while also giving us space to enjoy the atmosphere. The lighting is great, very good music choice in the background, everything was clean. The best part of this place is its personality. When you walk in, you are surrounded by dollar bills and custom artwork. Even better, you are given paper when you take a seat and are invited to add your own! Everyone that enters can become a piece of this buildings history if they want. As for the food, my taste buds left crying tears of happiness. We split "Poon Sliders" as an appetizer and every bit of it was melt in your mouth delicious. We also got individual meals, the buffalo chicken po boy and the chicken parmesan po boy, both of which were delicious and filling. Even the fountain soda was perfect! Will definitely be coming back here next time I am in the area.

Incredible food, service and ambiance. Went there almost every day of our weeklong vacation. Thank you thank you! Tip: Get the flounder! Drinks are awesome too.

The Flying Harpoon is everything you want in a laid-back Gulf Coast seafood spot. It's got that divey, lived-in charm that instantly makes you feel like you've found a local secret -- but without any of that "you're not from around here" energy. It's local, but totally welcoming. We came for oysters and holy hell -- they were incredible. Fresh, clean, and had a flavor that stood out from anywhere else we've tried. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. Also, do not sleep on the shrimp po' boy -- it was overflowing, seasoned perfectly, and hands down one of the best I've had. The drinks were strong, tasty, and kept coming (thanks to Donavin). Speaking of -- Donavin was the highlight of the night. Bartender, server, and all-around legend. He was cracking jokes with us the whole time, gave honest food recs, and just had that perfect "you're family here" vibe. They also had live music going that totally added to the atmosphere without overwhelming conversation. Just chill, real, and fun. Can't recommend it enough -- great food, great drinks, great people. We'll be back next time we're in town, no question.

We came with a big group to listen to music on Sunday and had the BEST time! Our server Michelle was amazing and attentive. I had a salad, seafood stuffed potato and a Bushwacker and both were perfect! We love the Flying Harpoon and recommend it all the time to visitors and regulars.

Delicious fresh seafood! The fish dip and gumbo had great flavor. I had the fried flounder and shrimp basket it was fried to perfection. My husband had the roast beef Poboy! It was stuffed to the brim and very tasty! We appreciate this place being dog friendly

Great atmosphere, the service was great the music was really good and the Hurricane drink was Amazing. Collared greens were awesome. I had the wings and boudin balls. My husband had raw oysters and they shuck them right there at the bar. We highly recommend!!!

We tried this location for the first time recently. We had been going to the other location in Gulf Shores every time we visited. We have yet to find a better run runner or tuna dip. We were pleased that both were exactly the same at this location. The place is spacious with 2 bars, one upstairs and one downstairs. We sat at the bar upstairs and enjoyed our bartender. She was personable, funny and great at making drinks. The decor is visually stimulating and eclectic. We will definitely be coming back every time we visit.

One of the many bugs found.

Great place! A little rough on the outside but the food was good. This is family friendly with kids menus (very limited). My kids enjoyed the chicken tenders and the chips that came with them. the chips were very bland so we added lots of salt. The salad was good but we found multiple bugs in it. Also, the beer was really good! They gave crackers with the Gumbo that wasn't very flavorful. The waitress left us unattended for a long time. They didn't clean up when we were done which was odd. They said there was live music but nothing happened. The people here were very nice but it seemed abandoned. Not sure if I would come here again.

It's the food folks go there for. The oysters were fresh and served in a simple appealing way. The fish was white and firm and delicious. The grilled shrimp they are famous for do not have a savory flavor, tastes more like they were grilled with honey on them. We were not expecting that at all. We did not like the 30 dollars worth of sweet shrimp. It does come in very generous portion if you like that type of flavor. Hush puppies were pretty darn good, light, nicely seasoned with good flavor. The Cole slaw was excellent. All portions were generous. Overall they are friendly, the service is personable and efficient! Ambiance is that of a local diner style, not fancy just comfortable. We liked everything but the sweet grilled shrimp. We are from the north and maybe it is just a southern style we aren't familiar with or used to consuming. The gumbo is pretty good too. They have great mixed drinks and they have one that is a salted caramel flavor that is really excellent. Overall: would highly recommend for a good meal and friendly service. The place itself is gorgeous. The setting is fantastic. You walk in thinking, "Okay, this is going to be a great experience." Then somewhere between the host stand and the check, things begin to unravel. Today finally pushed me into Yelp-review territory. We stopped in around 1 p.m. on a slow Sunday. The hostesses were gathered around the stand chatting like somebody had just dropped screenshots from the group text. The person who eventually greeted us was wearing dark sunglasses inside, which was certainly a choice. Not exactly the polished first impression you expect from a restaurant charging these prices. Once seated, things didn't improve much. Our server struggled to explain the specials, answer basic menu questions, or really seem familiar with what the restaurant was serving. Again, if I'm paying Zeke's prices, I'm expecting something slightly more polished than, "I thinnnnk that comes with..." Then the food arrived. One sandwich was specifically ordered without onions because of a food allergy. It arrived covered in onions. Another meal was supposed to come with Brussels sprouts. It arrived with fries instead. Our server disappeared for about 15 minutes after the food was dropped, so by the time she came back, we were nearly finished eating and in need of refills. I mentioned the missing Brussels sprouts and was told they'd be "right out." The Brussels sprouts were not right out. In fact, the Brussels sprouts apparently entered the witness protection program because we never saw them again. Neither did our server. Eventually she returned with the checks, seemed surprised that the Brussels sprouts had never arrived, removed them from the bill, and otherwise appeared remarkably unconcerned that the meal had been wrong from beginning to end. And that's really my issue with Zeke's. Restaurants have off days. Kitchens make mistakes. Servers forget things. I get it. But when you're charging premium prices, service should be the easy part to get right... and after multiple visits, Zeke's consistently misses the mark. At this point, I'll spend my local dollars elsewhere. And if you're visiting from out of town, just know what you're getting into: the view may be beautiful, but there's a decent chance your wallet will leave considerably lighter while you're still wondering whatever happened to your Brussels sprouts.

My advice, find a seat, have someone order at the order window, then head to the bar to order drinks. The wait to order food took about a half hour. It was very quick to get our drinks. We were able to snag a couch area on a platform. It was so comfy and we loved the views. A heads up- if you snag a couch like this, kids will get up on the platform and jump off of it. People will step up on the platform and walk extremely close to you. I had to ask a kid to stop throwing sand by us because we were eating our dinner. It was a little chaotic. We were extremely patient and understand, but I could see some people being very upset and annoyed. After ordering, our food came out pretty quick. I started with the coconut grouper bites and they were phenomenal. Light breading, lightly sweat, and flaky. I had the Gulf Grilled Cobia and it was phenomenal. The fish was tender, flaky, and light. No fishiness at all. The sauce on the fish was also delightful. My husband and son had the fajita skewers and both enjoyed them. My husband also had the peel and eat shrimp and said they were amazing at The Gulf. Our drinks were okay. We had better drinks at other places during the week, but they weren't bad. We would return, but try to come on an off-time that wasn't so busy.

We try gyoza at nearly any restaurant we visit that has it on the menu. Comparing this to other gyoza's, it's good but not great. Tuna Lovers Roll - 7.8 Roll was good but a little too spicy. The spice was expected obviously but still a tad too spicy. It also lacked the correct amount of sauce in my opinion. It also needed another ingredient or two to take it to the next level. Sesame Cracker w/ Honey Butter - 8.4 I rated it a little higher due to the originality. I have eaten at restaurants in half the States that make up this country and have never had toasted sesame crackers with honey butter. It is a thing in the South to have saltines, club cracker, etc. with butter at seafood and steak restaurants. However, I haven't seen this combo. It was good and not too filling.
