Drip is always a great place to study. Even when a little crowded, it stays relatively quiet. Ample lighting and seating. Of course, parking depends on the time of day you visit, but I've found a spot on the first try maybe 19/20 times. read more

After about 6 months of driving by it every other day I finally said, "Aw screw it, let's give Drip Coffee a shot". First impression: wow the guy sitting in the window is gorgeous! Next, I quickly realize that without all of the fake Franco-Italian lingo I really don't know what to order. So I ask the guy what's good that's cold. He made a couple of suggestions and I ended up with a hazelnut Brain Freeze which was a bit like a Frappucino only a lot creamier. It was delicious! Granted, I can't really speak for the quality of the regular coffee but my friend, who ordered one, stated that it was rather good as well. I'll definitely be coming back again. read more

Amazing place! I live practically right next door to it, and though I get lots of free coffee through my work, I have to confess: Drip Coffee is the best! First visit I had a plain old cup of drip, and it was tasty: nice,full flavour and none of that "burning" taste you get when the beans are roasted too long. The "Brain Freezes" are really good, too.....I am especially a big fan of the hazelnut one. Finally, the shop itself is mad cool. It's got an open, modern, warehouse-y feel that makes it feel airy and light, instead of cramped and dark like a lot of coffee places. As an added bonus, lots of hot guys seem to hang out/work there, so there's some eye candy as well. read more

I come here every morning and I love it. They serve various drinks like coffees, shakes, teas, the list goes on. Every time I try something new I love love love it! I really like their drip coffee but I was disappointing once by a yirgacheffe purchase. I buy about a pound of coffee every two weeks, and I purchased a pound of yirgacheffe that wasn't roasted right. It just tasted a little soapy. Also, I like there espresso, but it doesn't grind in my Simonelli grinder because it is too oily. For espresso beans I usually stick to White Rock. read more

Having moved from Dallas to Seattle 2 years ago, my idea of a good coffee shop has changed and become far more discerning. Drip does roast a mild bean as mentioned by other reviews. However, it is muddled by the type of espresso machines they are using if you chose lattes, cappuccinos or espresso. The baristas also do not know an 8 oz from a 12oz. Well it is texas so they don't even offer an 8 oz which doesn't allow you to have a true Italian or Seattle style strong latte or cappuccino. Shame. They are close. Good tunes at the right volume for a change too. read more

I search out independent coffee shops wherever I go, and I have never had better than Drip. I am addicted to their fresh roasted coffee. I go miles out of my way to stop there in the morning. Steve, the owner, and his baristas are knowledgable and friendly. Their fresh roasted bean selection is excellent. In Los Angeles, an equivalent small cup of coffee is hand poured and costs $4.50 for a small cup. At Drip, you get that top, fresh roasted quality at Starbucks prices. Consistently great coffee! I always get an Americano + flavor. Their in-house roasted coffee tastes like no other. I love that it's locally owned as well. The lite mocha brain freeze was delicious! They played jazz music making you wish you were in a cozy dim lounge but in all actuality I was sitting in a rather firm plastic chair surrounded by light grey and red plain decor. There was one corner with comfy chairs but they were occupied the length of my stay. Great drink just wish they had more lounge decor and seating. read more

Pro's - Great efficient clean decor, with lots of plugs for your computer so perfect to work from. Coffee that is full of character. If you want McDonald's consistency, this is different. Dean Fearing is a regular customer and I hear they serve Drip coffee at his restaurant. People are friendly, maybe too friendly for me, I like to be quiet and anonymous, but I observe they have lots of regulars and know them all very well and are treated genuinely well. They have a great selection of other drinks, Voss water, the cool aluminum coke bottles, stuff for the Apple type people who like high style products. Great cookies. Great people watching, though an older crowd, more established entrepreneurs in their 40's than 20's and 30's. Con's - Not the best pastry selection for breakfast. I wish we had more independent and comfortable coffee shops like Drip in Dallas. read more

It has an automatic espresso machine, just like any Starbucks. If you want quality coffee, this is not the place.

I wanted to like this place. Any time you see automatic espresso machines you're NOT getting a great espresso. The baristas here are not highly skilled. The company website says they want to "provide the highest quality coffee in the world..." that's the thing, though, they're just saying things but not actually doing them, this is the case with nearly every coffee place. The owners either know their product is mediocre and want to convince people it's great (common practice in the industry) or they don't actually know much about coffee, either way, it's just not that good. As a devout coffee drinker I recommend Ascension in Oak Lawn for anyone who wants to taste coffee done right. read more

I've been a few times, and the last time I went was, sadly the last time I will be there. I got a plain, unadulterated cup of coffee. I couldn't even drink half of it. My boyfriend got an iced americano and was unimpressed. The beans are over-roasted and bitter.The cashier, however was kind and accommodating. I go to Drip almost every day for a medium coffee light brainfreeze with a shot of espresso. It is so good. I ditched Starbuck's frappuccino FAST after finding Drip's "brainfreeze," and I will never go back! I stick with the coffee flavored brainfreeze bc it is plenty sweet and delicious without the extra sugar and calories in a pump of flavored syrup. I have gotten to know the employees and I really like them. They are kind to me and always laugh at my jokes ;) I've never had to wait more than a few minutes-- even when the line is long!
