I cannot emphasize how awful this business is. Ali Webb should be ashamed of herself and appalled at the downfall of her personal and professional brand. I had been coming here almost weekly. The service itself comes out well - if you can deal with everything else about the experience being catastrophic. Appointments never start on time nor do they begin "fashionably late." Typical wait time is 30 minutes after your scheduled appointment time; it's incredibly disrespectful of customers' time. The staff is unfriendly and talks about other customers to you while you're in the chair - I've had this happen multiple times... Note to staff: At least wait until the doors are locked to gossip, ladies: It's rude and makes me not want to tip you. All of this I could actually deal with as long as my hair comes out well. What I cannot deal with is Dry Bar's corporate customer service - rude people answering the phones who clearly don't care about customers. I had been going to Dry Bar for several consecutive weeks when I needed to reschedule an appointment due to an emergency. I was appalled at how impossible the corporate system makes this. I would suggest getting your hair done ANYWHERE but at a Dry Bar. It's overpriced, overdone and growing too fast in spite of itself. What made the concept of these salons great once upon a time is now far lost in the Corporate chain salon that Dry Bar has become. You may as well go to Super Cuts. read more

I had my first experience at DryBar this past weekend in preparation for a wedding. I knew from previous reviews not to be late as they will give your spot away a minute after you're to be there. As luck would have it, I got lost and was late. I called to inform them that I was going to be late and was told my appointment could not be guaranteed. I decided to chance it anyway. The woman at the front desk was clearly stressed when I arrived and I was told that I could either sit at the end of the bar in a folding chair or sit and wait until they could fit me in. A folding chair? Really? Already behind schedule, I opted for the folding chair. I decided to get the "Southern Belle" with volume and soft curls. Getting my hair washed lasted about 10 seconds (wait, isn't this supposed to be relaxing??) and having my hair blown out, the stylist was literally ripping hair out of my head with the round brush. She was not gentle at all, to the point that my neck was sore by the time I left from being jerked around so much. The two stars is because my hair did come out looking fantastic, but even so, I will never go back. read more

I had a pretty good experience at Drybar. There were a few minor annoyances (I got a text this morning asking if they could move my appointment 15 minutes later and when I got there they asked if I wanted a drink but I never got it) but I'm happy with my blowout. The shampoo was average - I was actually really looking forward to a nice, relaxing shampoo, but it was just OK. But, the reason I came was for a blowout and the stylist did a nice job. The business owner wrote back on my negative experience, she 'wanted to make it up to me', and told me to email them with my contact info so they can get my blow out right. So bad, guys. Soooo bad. I used to go to the Tribeca DryBar whenever I was in New York - it was always a great experience and the blowouts were consistently awesome. They "got" and respected their clientele. So I was happy when I started working near one of their Boston locations, Loved the concept and the execution, probably went 1-2 times a month. But the Chestnut Hill salon has gone from patchy to a disaster in the last year. The blowouts vary from good to "I could have done it myself" - nowhere near the consistency I used to get in New York. Not sure if it's stylist training or product, but too often my hair looks terrible the next day or even later the same day (With a good blowout and my not-oily hair, I can go for 3-4 days). Not that you can't still get an exceptional blowout there if you know who to ask for and when she works (and if she's actually there when you book it). But isn't the point of a place like DryBar that you can book any time and bank on the quality of the blowout? But their crap scheduling did me in today. I booked online for a 1:15 because my preferred time later wasn't available. I confirmed my credit card (apparently they charge you if you don't show). I wanted to request a certain stylist, so called and was told she had left at noon. Oh well. And then left work and arrived there to find not enough stylists and several other people in line. After waiting 20 minutes, I asked the receptionist what was going on (she sure wasn't going to offer any information), and she had no real explanation or apology to make, just said rather uncertainly that someone should be back from lunch in 10-15 minutes. After another 15, I left. The receptionist offered to rebook me for later, but I wasn't interested in taking an additional hour off work in hopes that maybe they'd have a stylist available. I requested a phone call explaining and got - a cancellation notice via email. So what I don't get is how they have an online booking service, they take credit cards and charge for no shows, and central booking knows that a certain stylist leaves at noon - but somehow they end up with twice as many customers booked for a timeslot as they can handle? I made a 5:15pm appointment this past Friday for a blowout for my work holiday party. It's on my way from work to the city, and I thought that would give me plenty of time to get pampered and into Boston by 7pm. I wasn't taken back anywhere remotely on time. I waited patiently, and finally around 5:40 I asked the lady at the front desk how much longer it would be. She looked extremely annoyed, rolled her eyes, and walked away. Came back, told me I was next, and then another client was taken before me. Was shampooed by one girl (I was a little disappointed in this as I've been to the Back Bay location and had a little scalp massage during the shampoo, this was like being touched with kid gloves), "started" by another (product put in my hair, after sitting with wet hair for 10min), and my stylist finally came over. She did a nice job on my hair but pulled A LOT during the process (my scalp is still sore!). I'm really curious as to the appointment booking process if nobody is taken back on time. If I wanted to have a 5:45 appointment, I would have booked at that time. I'm positive that I will not be coming back to this location. Overall the guest service is lacking from the front end and it's not worth my time or money to come back. So, let's start with the fact that they were running behind, and some people were very upset about it (understandable if you have a big day/date/event). I, on the other hand, had zero plans for the afternoon, so I wasn't bothered by waiting an extra 15-20 min or so. Anyway, I wanted to "treat myself", and as a fellow cosmetologist, we can appreciate when someone else is doing our hair! That being said, my shampoo was okay...and with them being so busy I didn't want to ask for a 'floater' (extra massage!) because I felt bad. Plus, another young lady (I believe the receptionist) washed my hair, not the stylist...but anyway, I loveeeee how my hair came out! My blowout (by Jasmine I believe) was absolutely phenomenal. I told her to "dry it anyway she wanted except for straight", and she knocked it out of the park. My hair has a difficult time holding any movement and/or curl, but here we are a few hours later and it still looks awesome. Can't wait to go again. read more

Go. To. London. I just got my very first blowout and was scheduled to meet with London. She was awesome!!! She made me feel so comfortable and honestly she was so easy to talk to that she felt like a friend by the end. She listened to everything I had to say--my hair is straight and doesn't hold curls well, and was nervous my hair might come out by the end of the day. I wanted to get the Cosmo-tai, which are very loose curls. It came out perfectly. To make sure my curls would keep the rest of the day, London made sure they were tight, so that they'd fall gradually. It looked gorgeous!!!! Even when it was done the woman getting her blowout next to me commented on London's expert curling. We were talking so much I was stunned when she said was finished, and actually sort of sad (I didn't want it to end!). I will most definitely be going back to see her. Plus, she said I looked like Shay Mitchell, which is possibly the best compliment anyone has ever given me, ever. read more

Awful. I booked my appointment with a particular stylist two weeks in advance. I arrived and was advised that not only would I not have that stylist, but also they were running over 20 minutes late. I was getting ready for a a wedding. I called customer service and they promised I would hear from someone with in 24 hours. I am still waiting. I did not get the promised stylist. I also did not get a seat with a mirror. The stylist said she likes one, but there was no room. I have called at least 3 times more and have not received any response. I think for $45 plus a 20% tip that the expectation should be for decent service. I do not recommend this dry bar. read more

Dry bar Chestnut Hill is going down the drain... It used to be such a fabulous place. I've been there a few times and always left happy. I've seen it getting busier & busier from the ability to book same day to nesesity to book a few days in advance. So when I was able to book Saturday evening appointment a day in advance it was a surprise but when I came today I started to see why: I had to wait a whooping 20 min just to get checked in; I was offered a variety of soft drinks and once I made the choice I never got my drink. But the worth yet to come. When I was pointed to the sink for the hair wash to my dismay I noticed how dirty, soiled from previous wash it was. I pointed out to my hairdresser but she disregarded my point saying "oh I'll take care of it" but then took me to a different sink which wasn't entirely clean but somewhat cleaner. I swear she didn't bother to rinse it... When we came to the seat & I asked for "Cosmo-tai" style - she looked at me like I grew another head. So I pointed out to a "menu" she still said no... At loss of arguments I agreed to Cosmo... And that was my last visit to drybar Chestnut Hill. read more

I went to Dry Bar after hearing some great things about it from friends when they first opened. I love the concept, location, and the salon itself (so bright and clean) and the staff was very, very nice offering free wine, water, or coffee. I also love the products (they smell amazing) and actually left with a bottle of their dry shampoo and heat treatment oil. My stylist was really nice, too, so with all of that I would LOVE to give them 5 stars but unfortunately my hair did not hold at all and most of the curls had fallen (leaving me with those awkward straight pieces among the loose curls) after only 3 hours. Sharing this info with some friends who have also been, it sounds like this is not uncommon. I understand completely that people have different types of hair and some hair holds curl better than others but being that this is the main service of the establishment I would think that this wouldn't and shouldn't be an issue. For $40 I would like my hair to hold a curl at least through the night, you know? I also have a friend who went this morning and the stylist didn't show up, which I know happens everywhere but I think it should be added because now she has to find a time with her work and family schedule to make another appointment. I definitely will try it again because there are so many positive things about Dry Bar but hopefully they can fix the little issues read more

I had my first Drybar experience this past Valentine's day and it was unbelievable! I decided to treat myself before my dinner date and it was well worth it. The price ($40) is perfect and the place was extremely clean and welcoming. Right away I was greeted by a friendly staff member and offered their drink menu, they brought the mimosa right to my station. The staff all work great together, helping clean up used tools or getting new ones. The shampoo/conditioner was great, but at times a little rough. My hair stylist forgot to put the neckpad down (I forgot too and didn't notice) and she apologized right away. I do wish there was a little more "massaging" versus using their fingers/nails but it still was pleasant. My hair is veryy thick and takes a while to blowout/style and I apologized to my stylist ahead of time but she didn't seem phased by how much work she had to do which was very comforting for me. She was extremely pleasant and friendly but I didn't feel obligated to talk to her. The blowdry was great but I wish the styling was a little more, it seemed to fall flat a few hours later. I chalked this up to it being a pretty windy afternoon in Boston and also, I wish I was more specific with what I was looking for. She did exactly what I had asked so I cannot fault her, just learned for next time! There will definitely be a next time for any special even I may have. Hoping to book a group blowout for my bachelorette party and/or bridal shower in the upcoming months! I have been highly recommending this place and look forward to coming back! My sister had an appointment at Dry Bar for the first time, I had called her and asked if they could squeeze me in and they said YES. I am so glad they squeezed me in, I'm in love with Dry Bars concept, cleanliness, and staff. My sister and I both got the Cosmo look and love it. I loved the flat fee for whatever type of hair, mine is thin so it's hard to keep the same look overnight. It's a great idea and I'll definitely be back! read more

I got there a bit early as I wasn't sure how the parking situation would be (and it was a busy and packed parking lot) and the receptionist made sure I had a mimosa in hand while waiting for my appointment. I got taken a few minutes early and had a really relaxing hair wash. I asked my stylist for loose curls and that's exactly what I got. I got my hair done at 9:30 am and it held all night (I had a wedding that day that began at 2pm and went until 1am). I would definitely recommend for a special occasion. It is a little pricey, but worth it, and it comes with a free beverage! read more

I used to love coming here, wine mimosas fun music, and my hair always came out great! Lately I've come here and waited over 40 minutes when I scheduled an appointment ? No apology from staff or management .. Just it'll be another 20 minutes.. I typically only come here when I have an important event. Terrible experience. When I showed up for my appointment exactly on time they offered me water but gave no indication of any extended wait and I was left with the impression I would be taken any second. The 6 other people waiting by the entrance, however, should have tipped me off to the fact they would keep me waiting for a long time. They kept me standing there for 30 minutes with more and more people coming in for their appointments. However, as more people came in, they still only took one or two from the earlier appointments. They had kept the woman next to me waiting for 45 minutes already! I had deadlines for later that day and while at this point I should have been half done with my appointment, they had not even taken me to get my hair washed yet! The receptionist was not giving updates to any of the women waiting and when I told her I could not wait any longer because of other commitments and would be leaving, she was unapologetic and only said "oh okay." And let's be clear here- the issue was not that they were under booked (they had tons of empty chairs!), but instead that they had only 5 stylists! Also I have been to this location before and even then received a very unsatisfactory blow out of my curly hair which left it frizzy and with way more volume than I had asked for. read more

This place is nothing like the Drybar in Back Bay. I was greeted by a very cold woman at the front. She didn't even ask me if I wanted a beverage, which is typical of the Back Bay location. I didn't wanna ask because I didn't know if they even had anything to offer. The stylist I had, whose name I can't remember, was so incredibly rough with me my head was sore after I left. She scrubbed my scalp with her fingernails which is not what you're supposed to do as it irritates the scalp - and boy did it irritate me. I felt like a rag doll at the hands of this woman! My head got tossed around when she blow dried my hair and she pulled and tugged a whole lot. Not to mention, she didn't quite do what I asked her to do. I had way too much volume up at the top and I asked for the style where there's minimal volume and a little bounce towards the ends. I asked her to fix it and she said "that's the style you asked for." She was jerking me around so much it was like she really wanted to get me out of there. I have thick, curly hair and she didn't take the time to blow my hair out so that it could be silky smooth so it's not looking great at the moment. It was a rushed process that was not enjoyable. I love this place. I've been a total of four times and everytime Ive left I have left happy and satisfied. I wish I could remember the names of the girls who did my hair, but they were both extremely pleasant. They serve you mimosas (or anything you want for that matter) which is fabulous. My only complaint is that every single time Ive been, they've been at least 15 minutes ( if not 25 on that Saturday I went) late. The woman pulled my hair when the entire time, especially while she was washing it. I showed her an exact picture of what I wanted from drybar's own photo booklet (I wanted very loose beachy waves) and the woman completely didn't listen and have me the opposite of what I wanted. She ended up giving me huge, tightly wound curls and used tons of hairspray. I ended up looking like a cheap pageant queen. The stylist was incredibly sweet and nice, however she did not style my hair the way I had asked. I told her I wanted beachy loose waves and she agreed that that was a great look. However, she gave me tight glamour curls. Which is fine ..... But not what I asked for. She told me they'd settle but it's been several hours already and the top is flat and tight mid-way to the ends. I can't give them less than a 3 because the experience overall was okay and the style doesn't look awful, it just isn't what I had wanted. "I'm contacting you in regards to my experience at Drybar on 4/9. I received this email address from Yelp. Instead of writing a negative review, I figured it would be best to directly contact you. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to write about my experience. I will say, I have had positive HAIR experiences at Drybar before. I think I've been twice. The girls are talented. 4 STARS FOR THEIR SERVICE. The customer service and/or scheduling of appointments is .... subpar. I've had to wait for my appointments, usually around 20 minutes. While I still don't think this is acceptable when someone has an appointment, it was hardly worth complaining about those two times. However, a recent experience has made it worth it to speak up. I had an appointment scheduled recently a week or more in advance. I showed up to my appointment at 10:10, checking in with the receptionist who politely recorded my name and asked if I wanted anything to drink. I noticed at least six people waiting. About 15 minutes went by - an acceptable wait period, I think. Those who were waiting started being taken. Another 10 minutes went by and I started to get nervous. The receptionist still had not checked in with me to let me know they were behind. Because I had somewhere to be, I asked her how much longer it would be. She informed me that there were still two girls in front of me....indicating that I would not be seen until 11:00! I asked her how this could be when I had a 10:15 appointment? She responded that they were behind and that they get busy on Saturdays. I was very frustrated with this response - I was NOT a walk-in. I had an appointment! It doesn't matter that Saturday's are busy. How could they be that behind already at 10 in the morning?? What is the sense in making an appointment? I asked her if she could squeeze me in later in the afternoon since I had somewhere to be, to no avail. She told me the next available appointment was at 7:00 p.m. I asked her what I should do in the future for booking appointments - book an hour early and not show up until I really want to come? She told me this was not necessary and that I should book appointments for when I want to really come - Well, from my second or third experience there, that is not true. I've waited before. So I left, frustrated, greasy, with my hair a mess headed to my nana's birthday lunch - a situation I could resolve easily for the lunch, but for the wedding? Yikes. From a business standpoint I really don't understand why appointments are made every 15 minutes. It doesn't seem like the girls can keep up with it - and that's not their fault. By reading many YELP reviews I can see that it's not uncommon to not get seen at the booked appointment time. What is most frustrating is that I was not informed they were running behind when I first arrived. If I knew I had to wait 45 minutes before being seen I would have left right then and tried to speed over to another blowout salon. Instead, I was left thinking I'd be seen any minute until I had to ask when I'd be seen. I'm really not sure what to do from here. I love my hair when I leave DryBar. This one star is not for the stylists! I had already made another appointment before my bad experience. However, now I'm thinking I need to book that appointment an hour earlier, expecting a wait. I was very excited to go to my first appointment I rushed out of work so that I would be on time but had to wait about 15 mins after my appt time to be seen. The price for the blo out was $40 but I was never informed that mimosas and beverages were included. The stylist didn't attempt to make any small talk with me and was very rough during my blo out she also burned my ear a couple of times when she was blow drying. I have been here 3 times now and all 3 times I have been taken at least 20 minutes late. The latest time, I was called 25 minutes late and my guest was called over 30 minutes late. There were woman who came in on time for their appointments that were still waiting when we left. The receptionist disappeared for over 20 minutes so people could not check in or pay. I believe that appointments should be booked on the half hour not every 15 minutes because of the long waits. The stylists clearly cannot keep up with the volume. Or they need to hire more stylists. The yellow brush the stylist used on my hair was missing at lease half the bristles. The yellow brush on the stylist nearest the receptionist was also missing bristles. They are selling these brushes. Who is going to buy this product when the store is using old broken ones on their customers? The TV was off when it usually shows old movies. My stylist said it had been broken for weeks. Clearly the whole place is going downhill. New management is needed. Taking customers consistently late is uncalled for. The sad thing is that they have you in a tough spot because anyone who has an appointment there has a function that they want their hair to look for so it really isn't an option to walk out after an excessive wait time. My blowout looked great and I got a lot of compliments on my hair. But the whole experience put me in a bad mood. Something needs to be done about the constant lateness. read more

Very disappointed. Went in tonight to get a blow out for my 29th reunion. Hey we're running very behind. The girl that dos my hair was more interested in the television and looking at the front door than doing my hair. The manager kept asking her how much longer. She said 5 minutes when she was still blow drying. She was then asked again and she told the manager she was finished when she wasn't even halfway done. She then rushed through the rest of my hair. I asked for a Cosmo with looser cults and came out looking like Shirley temple. I am now home redoing my own hair. The last time I was there I was offered champagne and water. This time was not even offered water. I was afraid to ask because she was in such a rush. This was supposed to be a fun thing to do with my best friend before our reunion but instead turned it into a stressful night. read more

Uncomfortable chairs, both at the sinks, and where the blow dry takes place. Dated looking mirrors with champagne glasses and other tacky products, and very inexperienced hair stylists. My hair is long, but easy. Few times that I have gone to this location I have felt like I my stylist graduated from school the day before. Don't like that they push their own style products which frankly smell too strong and leaves your hair feeling dirty. They rely too much on curling iron for same job that could be done with brush. I've been a long time customer and huge fan of Drybar for quite some time. I normally go to the Back bay location that's close to work, but opted for the Chestnut Hill location instead which happens to be a stone's throw away from home. I came as a walk-in at 2pm and was lucky to get a 4 pm slot that same day. I requested a "stylist" named "Denise", a few of my clients that also live in the area had mentioned a few names from the shop, whom she was one of; so it looked promising. I returned at 4pm sharp. Now, before I go any further, I'd like to say that I work in the restaurant industry (chef); I'm very empathetic, and understand when things run behind schedule, but 35 min??.... I was finally brought to the wash room where Denise proceeded to burn my scalp with extremely hot water, which at first I thought was just due to her not yet adjusting it. I asked if she could please adjust, she responded with a deep breath. By this time, the collar on my white fleece was soaked with hot water and was very uncomfortable. I realized it was because I was never given a towel to place around my neck for the wash. I then asked for a towel just to get scolded, for moving to much!?!? She then passed me a towel, by then she was very defensive, and I was uncomfortable. She finished shampooing and conditioning my hair; significantly rougher than how she initially started. She then walked me back to the chair to detangle my hair, (normally I get my hair detangled in the washroom w/ a comb, while it still has conditioner. I have very thick curly hair; this minimizes the amount of hair that gets combed out , and time it takes to do so; something that has already been established at the back bay location), and sprayed something in my hair, and started to detangle my hair at the base with a wet brush.....OOOOuuuCh!! She started to get very frustrated, I asked if she could try to untangle it from the bottom-up so that she doesn't continue to rip out my hair. It had gotten tough from the product that she sprayed it with, so I asked if she could try to untangle it with conditioner at the sink. She abruptly turned me in the chair and continued to brush it, after I had asked her not to, and exclaimed "NO, we are not going back to the washroom!" And she walked off into the back. I couldn't believe what was happening. I waited another minute or so before I decided to go ask for a manager, at this point I had been burned with hot water, my hair pulled out, and my shirt wet. I was extremely unhappy. I was passed off to another stylist, with no regard, nor consent; very unsettling. Back to the washroom we went, I ended up detangling my own hair, and somehow "Yo" (the stylist whom taken over), found herself justifying her 7-some odd years at a "Dominican" hair salon. How was that relevant to anything that was going on????!!?! An insult if anything. Upset, embarrassed, and uncomfortable, I asked "Yo" if I could pay the cost of the up-do that I was initially going to get, and just not have my hair done. She also just rolled her eyes and walked me to the front. As I passed by a full length mirror on my walk towards the front, a nearby stylist gasps, and points out a stain from "Purple Shampoo" on my White fleece. When I asked about the stain, "Denise" offered to "wipe me down" if I sat down in a chair. ....Wipe Down????!?!? I'm disappointed and disgusted. IT IS VERY UNFORTUNATE WHEN SUCH AN OUTSTANDING COMPANY HAS BAD REPRESENTATION. DRYBAR is the place that normally makes you feel 110% better about yourself, because let's face it, a GOOD Hair Day can go a long way. I can only hope that no one else has been treated in the same fashion. For now, until Drybar is willing to invest in some proper training for both "Denise" and "Yo", I shall continue to go to the Back Bay Location; where the smiles are endless, and the work speaks for itself. read more

Decided last minute that I wanted to have my hair done for a night out. I was pleasantly surprised that they had same day appointments when I called on a Friday afternoon. Upon arriving I waited for a few minutes, before being taken back. The shampoo was fine and I was offered an extra conditioning treatment which I declined. I explained to my stylist (can't remember her name...) that I do very little to style my hair, so I was looking for a fun look with volume and loose curls for a night out. I have fairly thin hair that goes down to about mid back, but she said that this look was doable. Her work was a bit rough. I was definitely getting jerked around a bit, but it was not unbearable. The final style was okay. It wasn't quite as styled as I was looking for. The top seemed flat and the bottom had tight curls. My long bangs had been sprayed at a funny angle, so they either flopped in my face or made strange angles at my temples if I tried to tuck them behind my ears. The worst part though, was that the look fell totally flat within an hour or two of leaving the salon, even before I made it out that evening. read more

I went to Drybar on a Saturday AM and it was (not surprisingly) packed. They took me about 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment time - not too bad. I've been to other locations before and I have never been seen on time. I now just assume I'll be seen 15-20 minutes after my appointment time. The ladies working at the front desk were very nice, offering me drinks, etc and constantly reassuring me that I was going to be seen soon. The stylist who did my hair was very nice as well. So why three stars? When I sat down in the chair she asked me to "slouch" down in the chair because I was too tall for her. Now, I get it, I'm taller than an average girl but at 5'9" I'm not "starting center in the NBA" tall. I sat hunched over for as long as I could but after about 30 minutes in I told the stylist I had to sit up straight because my back was killing me. There has to be a way to do somebody's hair without making them crumple into a ball to make them shorter. My hair came out great for the day, but I was sad it didn't last for multiple days as my blowouts have in the past. read more

BAD experience. It was my first time trying Dry Bar and I was really excited. I wanted to treat myself after a few long weeks at work so I chose the Mudslide service which is $60. I waited 15 minutes to even be seen. The stylist gave me about 30 seconds to pick which style I wanted, even though I said I had never been there. The Mudslide service includes a 10 minute scalp massage and a mask treatment. There is no way I received either treatment during my wash so I thought that's fine I will save $20. The receptionist charged me and I said I didn't get it and the stylist argued and said she did. I think I would know if I got a 10 minute scalp massage and a hair mask that needs to be left in for 10 minutes. All I got was a wash. On top of that I wanted a blend of styles and she didn't do that. My hair came out decent, that is the only reason for 2 stars, however it wasn't perfect and she didn't part where I asked her to. I WILL NOT go back to this location. You also pay the same price as other locations and they don't serve alcohol. read more

So disappointed. I booked 5:30 appointments for my friend and I to celebrate her engagement. We planned to get our hair done with a glass of champagne before going out later that night. We arrived 10 minutes early to check in- the girl at the desk was pleasant and the ambience was great- but we were quickly informed that their location did not serve alcohol like the rest. Fine. Minor setback. However, we were then taken 30 minutes late. I was taken first- the water was cold and the stylist was very rough. The experience, for me, was not enjoyable at all but I was more concerned with my friend since this was the first time she had someone else do her hair. By the end, the "cosmo" style was at least adequate so it wasn't a complete wash until the curls COMPLETELY fell by the time we got back to my house in West Roxbury. A 10 minute ride, windows up, no exaggeration. We ended up having to redo what I just paid $100 for. Fail. I will never go back nor will I recommend drybar to anyone I know. read more

I love getting a blowout and this location is so convenient to where I live and work. However this location needs a makeover of its own! Upon checking in the receptionist who had the personality of a wet mop (ie- no greeting and she was moody) I was lead by my stylist to a chair that had not one but two wet/dirty towels on it. In fact, I had to move the towel on my chair and the other wet/dirty towel ended up staying on the counter in front of me for the whole visit. I was never offered a beverage either. While I understand that today's visit was free - thanks to the Pretty Little Liars incentive - this is unacceptable. If I was paying for today's service I would be disappointed - again not by the service but by the atmosphere and dirtiness. This location is in a HIGH END neighborhood in an affluent city and while I've always had GREAT hair by a fabulous stylist the management crew here needs an overhaul. This salon is TIRED - I know how popular this location is - but the reception furniture is old and dirty. Today's receptionist (I have not seen her before) had a terrible attitude and was too busy playing on her phone (when I, the customer can see the emojis on the phone screen - what does that tell you?) The stylists are very nice and do great hair, however as this is the only Drybar location I've been to I would assume that not all salons operate this way. I would be interested to see what the management and Alli Webb think of this location. read more

I love dry bar, dry bar is great. This review is more for the customer service department- when I called over to cancel my appointment in Chestnut Hill. I go to dry bar all the time since I learned of their location in Chestnut Hill. I've been at least 10-15 times, so I would say I'm a regular. I was on the app and I accidentally booked the wrong day. I meant to book the following weekend. When I realized this I tried calling customer service right away. I was on hold for about 20 minutes and when I spoke to the woman she rudely told me I would be charged 20 dollars because I was cancelling an appointment that was within 2 hours. Ok I understand cancellation policies. But I called right when I realized what I did. And the woman was so snarky and rude. That's not customer service. So I was charged 20 dollars for an appointment I didn't go to. And I did not book my appointment again for next weekend because the woman in customer service left a bad taste in my mouth. As a loyal customer I didn't expect to have the fee waived but to be rudely told I will absolutely charged with an attitude has resulted in this review. read more
