What started as a terrible experience with the front desk became even worse after speaking with the manager. The manager called me back with an extremely rude and dismissive tone. Instead of addressing my concerns, she defended the behavior and attempted to justify why my call was not returned. I was told Fridays are busy, which made no sense considering the timing of the callback. I was also told that security footage showed I arrived at 12:17 PM and that the front desk employee was not on her phone. That statement is completely inconsistent with what I personally witnessed. It is shocking that, rather than addressing the issue, the focus seemed to be on finding excuses and shifting blame. What is even more concerning is that I was charged a $25 cancellation fee despite never receiving service. I was told to wait until 12:35 PM, yet I was still waiting after that time had passed. Instead of acknowledging the situation, I was simply told I was late and therefore deserved to be charged. The disrespect, lack of professionalism, waste of my time, and the way I was spoken to throughout this entire experience are completely unacceptable. No customer should be treated this way. Because of how this matter was handled, I will be exploring all available options to formally address this situation and challenge the charge. I hope the owner is aware of how customers are being treated at this location and takes immediate action. I will not be letting this matter go unnoticed. read more

Great work on my hair but the front desk is super rude and full of themselves especially one girl in particular who has semi blonde hair and thinks she owns the place. I've called repeatedly and no one EVER picks up the phone. I called as I was walking in and no one moved to pick up the phone. The excuse was they're busy but 1 girl was chewing and 1 was just sitting there. The chairs were all occupied but front desk was doing nothing. At the very minimum you or your manager should have reached out to rectify the situation rather than having the girl at the front desk do it. Your front desk staff needs to work on customer service. The number you provided for me to contact you at is the salon. Have you ever tried calling the salon? Getting someone to answer let alone to request to speak to someone directly is not the best way to connect. As a franchise owner, I would imagine you have a marketing budget from corporate that you pay into so for things to not accurately reflect pricing is quite interesting and concerning. Updating my review just received a call from Natalie the director saying I am banned from all Dry Bars in OC due to me leaving this bad review and she asked me if I think she can control her staff if they call out and she said I threatened to leave a bad review I said no I did not threaten I notified them of why I was leaving a bad review she just justified me leaving this review even more... Now Danielle stepped in with a response to my review saying I was verbally aggressive towards her front desk employee when she originally apologized for the whole thing that's why in the review I even put Danielle was sweet when she asked me what she could do for me not to leave a bad review .. lol that's fine Danielle I understand you have to write something to make the company look half decent. Also they said they tried to accommodate me by offering the 1pm 2pm when I had at 8am appointment that's not accomodating when I have an important gathering at 10am that's why my appointment was made for 8:15 ...AGAIN DO NOT waste your time here.... I'm a member with Drybar, customer service is always mediocre but I just use the time to rest my eyes for the 20-25 minutes it takes to complete my hair. Today I had an appointment at 8:15 which has been scheduled since Thursday and I receive a call from Josselyn at 7:28 saying the girl that was going to do my hair just called out and they would reschedule me for 1 or 2pm. I was mind blown that people call out 30 minutes before they are supposed to be in and that this company wouldn't have some one else to come and cover. Just a waste of my time now I'm left seeing who else does blow outs on Yelp near me which surprisingly is a lot so I would recommend not booking here because even if you have something important to show up to they can cancel 30 minutes before your appointment. I've let so many issues go here like when I paid extra for a 10 minute scalp massage and it was literally 2 minutes but I'm not looking for issues since I go all the time so I just took the disrespect and now I've had it up to here so I'm done with this place. Spoke with Danielle who works with the owner and she is sweet but again the damage has been done with how I've been treated continuously here. I asked Josselyn who I was scheduled for since I always just take first available and she said "I'm not going to tell you I don't want you to slander her" I said okay well then I will just put your name Josselyn. Canceled my membership today and I promise you there are many other companies near that do blow outs go somewhere that respects your time and YOU! Nothing I dislike more than some place that wastes my time. If this doesn't show you decent employees are hard to come by I don't know what does. I rarely write reviews, but my experience at Drybar in Irvine Spectrum Center today was so disappointing that I felt compelled to share. I brought my mom and wife here before a wedding, excited for a nice pampering session. I called two days prior to book our appointment for 1:15 PM, and although we arrived only 7 minutes late, and my wife called ahead at 1:00 PM to inform them we were on our way. Because traffic it was crazy!! Upon arriving, they held my mom and wife for an additional 10-15 minutes, only to then tell them they were late by 15 minutes--completely inaccurate! To add insult to injury, they insisted on a $25 late fee and pushed our appointment to 2:45 PM. As an Air Force member, I travel frequently and have used Drybar services many times before without issues. My family has always enjoyed their experiences--until today. The staff at this location seemed indifferent to customer service, and it felt like they didn't care about accommodating us. Ultimately, I had to take my mom and wife elsewhere, which was incredibly frustrating and disheartening. I expected better from Drybar, and it's sad to see such a lack of professionalism and customer care at this location. I won't be returning, and I encourage others to think twice before making an appointment here. read more

Update: After leaving my original review, I was contacted by someone named Danielle who said she was a manager. She would not allow me to explain what happened and focused only on the Yelp review. She offered a free blowout if I removed it, which I declined. I requested a refund instead. I was told her boss would call me within five minutes. That call never happened. Instead, I received an email from Natalie stating that I had cursed and was therefore banned from Drybar, which is completely false. I did not curse at anyone. I was also told previously that calls are recorded, which makes these claims especially concerning. It appears I was banned because I refused to remove my review. I wasn't planning on returning regardless, but this response says a lot about how customer concerns are handled. Drybar can -- and should -- do better. read more

I am from the Bay Area, and always have amazing experiences at the Dry Bar locations up there. Unfortunately, they are not owned by the same people in SoCal. At the Drybar in the Spectrum on Saturday, when I walked in, the girls at the front desk told me I had a ticket open at the Fashion Island location. This didn't make sense to me since I'm not from the area, and I haven't visited here in years. I also always pay before I leave obviously, and I don't remember visiting that specific location. I paid it since it's not their problem to solve, and knew I'd handle it with an email later. While washing my hair, the stylist I had was extremely rushed and aggressive with her technique. This caused her to knock my AirPod out of my ear and into the wash bowl. It no longer works, and we all know how expensive electronics can be. She saw me put my AirPod in my ear, and I do this at every appointment. All other stylists I've had are always mindful of this, and super gentle. My hair is very damaged and dry from how high of a heat setting she used and my results weren't what I'm used to from the Bay Area locations I frequent, and I was shocked at the poor training and aggressive practices here. I've attached a photo of my hair right after my appointment for reference. The stylist acted as if she didn't want to be there, and I was going to attend a wedding right after this appointment, so I didn't have any time to fix it. I asked for a Mai Tai and only one piece of hair was waved, which fell by the time I arrived at the event. I wanted to reach out and see what we could do to mitigate the issues listed above so I sent out an email. I received no solutions, just a bunch of words that lead to nothing. I wasn't offered a partial refund, discount to come back, or any solution for the AirPod. Danielle said they're not responsible for any damaged items worn at the appointment. I'm a regular at DryBar, but this experience pushed me to learn how to do my own hair. read more

I've gone to Drybar for some time in the Bay Area, but this is the first time I've made an appointment at this franchise--it's also the last. TL;DR : Don't recommend if you have anything but type 1 hair. Type 2, 3, and 4 baddies, go elsewhere! I made an appointment online and an hour before, I get a call from the salon cancelling because "I required extended time to do my hair," which the salon could no longer accommodate. My 3a hair has always taken an hour to do, but the system has me flagged as needing extra time (which is an extra charge!). To clarify, I ask how long the time slot is, and am told it is 45 minutes. I don't know if it is exclusive to this salon, but I must reiterate that I have not had previous issues at my local Drybar in Norcal with this. Because of this 15-minute discrepancy, my appointment is cancelled, even though there still were available time slots after they would have been done with my hair. Company-wide policy or not, Drybar exceeds that your hair is "manageable" enough for their stylists, but since when can't a hairdresser blow out curly hair in an hour or less? read more

What makes things even more difficult is not getting an answer from the receptionist regarding how long it will be till I am taken. Just saying you are running behind...letting someone know, goes along way. Why do things always seem to fall short at your front desk? I do suggest you need to take the time to train your team. Please ask the receptionist who was there on Friday at 2 PM--specifically the new girl--because she refused to accept me. Her exact words were: "We cannot accept you at this location."
