First off I am extremely disappointed with the work of the professionalism from this store. I asked for a rough quote from the beginning including what my hair looked like and what I wanted it to be, only to be left on seen by the company. The day of the appointment with the stylist (her name is Thuie) which took about 5 hours I was told half way into the service that what I wanted was not achievable. By then she had already used 3 bowls of bleach on my hair and just kept adding more. Obviously racking up the price hundreds of dollars. By the end of the service it had cost me $520 for something I did not ask for. I would never recommend someone to this store ever. The lack of transparency is infuriating. I'm really disappointed with my experience. I was told Valerie was 30 minutes late when we arrived. There was no call or text to let me know, which was frustrating and disrespectful of my time. I had arranged this appointment for my daughter, who had another appointment scheduled right after this haircut. Communication is such a basic expectation, and the lack of it made the situation worse. While I understand that things can come up, a simple message would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, this experience felt inconsiderate and unprofessional, and it made what should have been a positive appointment stressful instead. It was time for a touch up so I of course reached out and booked my appointment with my girl Thuie. The last time I saw her was a little over 3 months ago. My hair has grown out but still looks decent. I was so excited for my appointment to see her as I always am. It's a great experience every time I see her at the salon and I always enjoy my time there with her. As far as my hair this is what I got done: she colored, did a treatment, cut, and styled my hair. It took 4 hours for her to do all of that. I always feel like a new person once she's done and leave feeling fantastic. I can't recommend Thuie enough!!! read more

I have been getting my Vivid colors done with Thuie for almost a year now. She is my favorite hairstylist ever!!! Not only does she always do the best job on my hair, she is nice, she is meticulous with her work, she always wants a 11/10 outcome, she takes her time to lift you so that you don't damage your hair, she is knowledgeable and always gives me the best advice with my hair, and she is just a ball of good energy and vibes!!! My hair journey started with her when I came to her wanting the most vibrant Orange Hair i could ever imagine. She did an amazing job lifting my dark brown natural hair... It took some time but she lifted it to a very nice and even platinum blonde and still kept my hair so healthy!!! Everyone loved the orange and everyone always asks me how my hair stays "soooo healthy." My answer is always "cause i have the best colorist, Thuie!!!!" Since dying my hair Orange. I have bleached washed it once and changed the colors to Green, then blue, now Purple... Thuie has made all my colored hair dreams come true!!!! I highly recommend making an appointment with Thuie for any of your hair needs. She's also amazing at balayages, I take my God daughter to her as well for her balayages. I recently moved to Huntington Beach and I have been having the worst luck with hairstylists. I had an amazing hair stylist of 7 years that I loved and had to leave when I moved. My blonde was flawless. My hair always takes bleach and color really well. I went to one lady in Orange that had a wonderful Instagram page of all the beautiful blondes she's done. She didn't put toner on my hair and I left with lightly brassy roots. Then I went to a guy 6 weeks later who is "a color expert". He has tons of great reviews. He did a great color job except for once again my roots were brassy. I asked him to fix it and he told me it's the lighting and if I use my purple shampoo it'll look perfect. I was preparing for a trip the next day so I didn't have time to argue and left. Long story even longer, it did not wash out and was getting worse. One day, I was waiting at a restaurant and I saw this woman with amazing blonde hair. It had a lot of depth. I asked her where she got her hair done and she gave me her stylist's info. I booked an appt and when I was done my hair had orange roots, like BRIGHT ORANGE. She had taken 4.5 hours to do my hair after a long work day. I was so tired. She said to come back if my purple shampoo doesn't neutralize it which it didn't. Which lead me to here. I came in for a consultation with Jennifer and she eased my hair concerns. I had to wait a couple weeks to get in to let my hair heal a little. She did warn me it will take 2-3 times of seeing her to fix it completely because I did a full highlight and it's EVERYWHERE. Plus I have a lot of white pieces next to the orange so she can't do a root melt or it'll turn the white blue. OMG, after the first appt you can barely see any orange left. My blonde is rejuvenated and bright. My roots don't look ratchet anymore! She also gave me an incredible scalp and neck massage which was amazing! She exceeded my expectations and restored my faith in Orange County hair stylists. If you need color correction she is your girl! read more

I saw someone named Madeline! Originally seen for biolage for lighter hair. I ended up leaving with my hair dark. She said she would tone the red tone out of my hair. But she toned it and removed all my light colored hair. She also colored my roots a shade darker than I always have. I wasn't disclosed I would be removing my light colored hair with a toner. Cannot recommend Thuie enough! She is the only person I allow to touch my hair. Wherever she goes I go. I live in LA and I will make the trek out to see her. She always stays up to date on trends. She will recommend things that she thinks will look good on me, but never pressures me if I'm hesitant. Very easy to talk to and makes you feel comfortable. The location of this salon is perfect! Its right off the freeway on the Irvine Center Dr exit. It's in a plaza that has Whole Foods, Starbucks, and yummy restaurants. You can get your coffee to sip on, get brunch beforehand and/or get a meal or do your grocery shopping after. Irvine spectrum is also just across the freeway. On the weekends, parking can get tricky because this plaza does get busy, but I've always been able to find one. Not sure how it is on the weekdays, but I doubt it's as busy. read more

The last time I colored/processed my hair was about 15 years ago. The results were terrible and it left a negative impression on what I thought was possible with thick Asian hair. To avoid another hair disaster, I grew out my hair and donated it 3 times since then but I was dying for a change. It was easy to check-in at the front desk for my hair appointment and my hair stylist was ready to meet with me. HAIR STYLIST: My hair stylist ("Daniel") took the time to listen to my hair ideas and answered all of my questions. He also provided good recommendations for hair treatment and care. Daniel did a great job coloring and styling my hair! He is very professional, knowledgeable, attentive and courteous! SALON: Very clean and spacious! The salon's housekeeping staff ("Maria") keeps everything very clean, including the shampoo station area and the restroom facilities. LOCATION: The salon is conveniently located in a strip mall near the Irvine Spectrum and 405 Freeway. Parking is free. Cannot recommend Thuie enough!! She is the best! She really listens to what you want, helps with recommendations, and walks you you through every step of the process to make your hair look amazing. I came in with an idea of what I wanted but she definitely helped me figure out exactly what to do with my hair and color based on the current condition of my hair and the look I was going for and what would fit me best. She explained how she would achieve it and how to best take care my hair and color going forward. We ended up going with a warm toned balayage where she added some low lights to create more dimension in my hair. She also melted my roots so that when my hair grows out i don't have to constantly retouch my roots and she added lighter face framing pieces to brighten up my face. My hair came out even better than I imagined and I love it!! She is just also all around amazing vibes! I got my hair cut for the first time here with Lauren and boy am I glad I did!! Lauren is probably the most professional and thorough hair stylist I've ever been to. I have fine hair that gets super tangly after I wash it ever since I highlighted my hair, and she took the time to carefully get every tiny tangle out, even one with her fingers. I told her I wanted a lot of layers/wanted to lighten up since I have so much hair and it's felt heavy in my face since the last haircut I got. She went over my hair 2-3 times to ensure that it was evenly layered and texturized it in a way that left no choppiness or bluntness. It still has a lot of the length that I like but is so much more lightweight! It's safe to say I LOVE my hair! I was referred to Joanne Kim Marsden by my wedding planner, who has been a client of hers for over a decade. I wanted hair extensions for my wedding, which Joanne specializes in. She offers IBE (invisible bead extensions), a hand sewn technique that looks very natural. I made appointments for my consultation, as well as installation/color online. Kenneth Brown in Irvine is a spacious salon, that feels upscale but unpretentious. At my consultation, Joanne determined how many rows I needed to achieve my desired look, and ordered my hair. The first appointment was ~6 hours. Cut, color, and extension installation. I left feeling like a new woman, and was amazed at how comfortable they felt on my head. I now go in every 6-8 weeks for extension maintenance/move up appointments, which take a couple of hours. Joanne is not only talented, but super cool and down to earth. The kind of person you can talk with for hours, and not feel mentally exhausted. I originally planned on having my extensions removed after the wedding, but now I plan on keeping them in forever lol. read more

I booked a bridal updo for my sister a month prior while I was in person at the salon and watched Miranda enter the appointment in the computer and she told me she had the day blocked off in her calendar. My sister was getting married and flew in from a different country so I booked the appointment for her. I called back again to confirm the time and the front desk saw it in the system and confirmed the time of 11am. The day before the wedding I called again since I never received a confirmation text. They said she had nothing on her schedule but there was a note about a Lauren. No one ever reached out to me about changing anything about the appointment or being referred to anybody else. This was the day before the wedding and the receptionist is telling me there isn't an appointment in her system. I told her it was an emergency and she offered the option of someone else at 1:45 instead of 11am. We obviously have makeup and a photographer booked according to the original hair appointment so that definitely didn't work, I don't know why she even offered that option. She said she would call me back and then never did. I called the salon again 30 minutes before closing and she said there's really nothing she can do for me and that she's "sorry" How is that helpful the day before a wedding? I received a voicemail saying her manager would reach out, that both Miranda and Lauren didn't respond to messages and that she would call me in the morning. I never received a phone call from the receptionist or the manager the following day and still have not heard back. So extremely unprofessional and a huge stress the day before a wedding. This is so unacceptable and there was no urge to fix the problem. We were completely stuck and I just got a "sorry" from the receptionist. Tried the Newport location and they were just as awful. read more
