Had the pleasure of my second meal at DSRT CLUB and Chris and his team did not disappoint. Once again the octopus was delicious! I tried the Branzino and my husband the lobster. The Branzino was cooked to perfection, was a large portion and the orange sauce made this fish a really delicious and unique experience. The lobster was off the charts! Two large tails, expertly prepared, and clearly the best value for lobster in the desert! Jenny, our waitperson, was attentive and delightful and Felipa made us feel at home and so welcomed, just like she does at RD RNNR. The strawberry shortcake was as tasty as last time. Add the beautiful setting and you have a wonderful new dining experience in La Quinta. Can't wait to come back and try the Desert Jamba! read more

One of the best meals I've had in a long time and definitely one of the best I've while visiting La Quinta in years! The service and environment is also fabulous, and such a nice addition to the area. Must have the Bronzino entree if you like seafood, it was so unique and delicious! I would have been totally satisfied with the amazing Bronzino, but my table shared the Coffee Stack desert which took my experience to the next level. The name does not do this crazy hybrid of a Greek phyllo pastry meets Tiramisu justice, but it was also so unique, light, and tasty, I wish I could have had it all to myself and not shared. Wow! Great spot in downtown La Quinta. Visited many good restaurants while visiting, but noticed many of the menus were very similar. DSRT menu is unique and innovative. Everything we ordered was delicious. The interior design feels very old school Palm Springs. They have outdone themselves in honoring the memory of the original Desert Club! read more

Stopped by for the first time since it was RDRNR. I had the wagyu burger and the wicket cricket cocktail. The drink was basically an alcoholic melted mint chocolate chip ice cream and was pretty good. I thought the burger was excellent, a thick half pound patty cooked medium on a potato bun. Their entree prices are pretty low, so I wondered whether it would be "that's why the prices are low". It was not. That place is just awesome. Both the food and service were fine. Only one comment, very important though, why did you rush us into finishing our meal? We were just starting enjoying our first cocktail and some warm olives, when we were served already the main course. To avoid such a situation, in "classy" restaurants, servers are trained to follow the speed at which guests are progressing with their first course before they place the order for the main course. My wife and I intended to enjoy a nice, relaxing long evening, unfortunately, it was if it took the time to finish a fast food meal...But all and all, a nice experience and we are ready to try again. read more

We had a fantastic dinner at the Desert Club, a unique, nostalgic, desert romantic restaurant in La Quinta. Our server, Zia, was professional, knowledgeable, and personable. She provided excellent service. We started with a glass of Ferrari Carano "Fume" Sauvignon Blanc and Rodney Strong Cabernet Sauvignon, along with the Two Seared Scallions special appetizer. For the entrees, we had Half Red Chicken and Mr. Robinson's Meatloaf, both cooked perfectly! Thank you to Chef James, who took the time to talk with us, which was a great pleasure. We ended the evening with the original chef's "Coffee and Cigar" dessert and freshly pressed brewed coffee for two. How delicious, how delightful! A lovely evening! I've been a regular at Rdrnnr for quite some time... so I was a bit skeptical about trying Dsrt Club. I love everything about it. Tonya (the absolute best), Johan, and Charly are the greatest bartenders. So attentive and wonderful, Juan is a great bar back!!! Katie (the food runner.. or the concierge person) has got to be the best and most fabulous person I have ever encountered. Felipa (manager) is out of this world. Chef James makes the best food. I really have no negatives. Chris and Anita absolutely outdid themselves with this one. Food is phenomenal and atmosphere is wonderful. 10/10. read more

We had our first dining experiencing at DSRT CLUB earlier this week to celebrate my wife's birthday. As a frequent visitor of the old RD RNNR location, I was blown away by the transformation upon walking in! The decor is gorgeous! Not a detail was missed. We were sat immediately and greeted by our server, Anoushka. I don't have enough good things to say about Anoushka! She was incredible, hands down. The food was amazing. As a group of 4 we ordered the following: steak bits & fries, mussels & bucatini, jambalaya, and the scallops. Everything was above par, but the scallops were some of the best I've ever had. Don't forget to order a side of the basil aioli.. I wish it was bottled! We will be back soon and often. So happy to have a new fine dining establishment in the Cove. read more

We just had the nicest experience dining tonight at DSRT Club. The food is outstanding and the service is so incredibly gracious. I love the throwback theme to the original Desert Club in La Quinta. They've done an excellent job of creating an elegant atmosphere yet, inviting and relaxing. We ended up sitting at a table at the bar. We were early and it was still a bit slow, so the young lady behind the bar came out to serve us. I forget her name, but she was very knowledgeable and highly professional. My wife had the octopus to start, which was wonderful. I had the Caesar salad with fried boquerones. So good! The pork schnitzel was perfectly cooked and the grilled ribeye with new potatoes, shishito peppers, and cremini mushrooms; all with Demi glace was presented elegantly, perfectly cooked and delicious. My wife and I both agree that we've finally found a restaurant in La Quinta that we want to make our regular 'hang.' I can't recommend this place enough. read more

We went to new rd rnnr location for lunch and then went over to check this new spot out and to grab a drink. At first we thought it was closed and almost left because it looked closed from the outside. Someone opened the door and let us in and we went to the bar to hang out. Love the renovations and transformation. Customer service was great at the bar. Very chill vibe. Will be back. read more

Last night, we had our second outstanding meal at DSRT Club. Our waiter Erwin was a wealth of information in our selections for the evening. Gary had a filet mignon which he said was even better than the steak houses around here. I had the scallop and polenta dish which melted in my mouth. We started off the evening with the albacore appetizer that had some wonderful flavors. We can also highly recommend the pork chops and Jambalaya that we had the first time we were there. The service and staff were impeccable. Many of the wait staff comes from Chris and Anita's RD RNNR. We finished dinner as it was Gary's birthday with a delicious raspberry sorbet. v We will be there again in a couple of weeks. read more

During the past two months we have dined twice at DSRT Club, in La Quinta "Village" at the former site of its parent RDRNNR restaurant. So enjoyable was the first time that we were extremely happy and truly pleased to return, and are definitely looking forward to more visits yet. Chef Bertrand Bouquin from Burgundy France presents amazingly delicious variations on standard dishes. His gazpacho (seasonal melon, cucumber, agave, smoked red oil, topped with crispy prosciutto) and jambalaya (prawns, andouille sausage, sweet Cajun broth, toasted tomato rice, scallions) are spectacular, as are his grilled octopus as well as the rack of lamb. DSRT Club also presents a wonderful collection of specialty cocktails. Further, and at least as importantly, we enjoyed genuinely marvelous service.
