The taste of the spice made our throat and stomach uncomfortable. Two beef noodle soup meals cost us $41 for food and tax. This is our 2nd time to try Duan's Beef Noodle. It's hard to find an excellent beef noodle place comparable to the fine and varied places in Taiwan, and this restaurant hits the spot. The original beef noodle soup broth is tasty, refined, complex, and very flavorable. The hand pressed noodles are firm, fresh, and blends nicely with the soup. The beef is tender, tasty, and the mix of small bak choy makes a nearly perfect slightly spicy beef noodle soup. The back wall described the soup making process which takes 18 hours and I believe it. The mix braised plate was also very good. What stood out was the tofu variety which was tasty with full of braised flavor. The tripe was well cooked and also very tasty, the braised egg was also excellent. Would definitely come back for more dishes. The only downside was the slow service, maybe was near when they close for lunch, but the waitress was very friendly and helpful. read more

This place is truly awful. I ordered the beef noodle soup and it has no beef. J ordered none spicy beef soup and it had a layer of spicy grease on it. The Chinese donut was dry and gross. The popcorn chicken is dry and bland. The xlb has no soup and dry and tasted off. I feel for 35 bucks I can go to taco bell or Panda Express and get a better meal. Duan's opened up this summer in Oakridge, offering some authentic Chinese dishes like braised beef noodle soup and xiao long bao (soup dumplings). I was in a hurry, and I didn't want to wait for any steamed dishes, so I just ordered the Braided Beef Brisket Noodle Soup. Unfortunately, the beef in my soup did not seem like brisket at all -- it seemed a lot like eye of round (i.e. the rare steak in phở). I also thought the broth was pretty ordinary. It's nice to have some more variety in Oakridge, but it wasn't anything I'd come specifically for. read more
