Go-to spot for jjamppong and jajangmyeon! This place is always packed and there's always a line outside. The parking lot is very smal land it's always full, but the plaza across the street usually has available parking spaces. I've been getting the jjamppong here more frequently than jajangmyeon but both are really great options! I love the seafood flavor in the jjamppong and the noodles are chewy. The portion is great for the price point.

I love that no matter where in the world I go that has a Paik's Noodle, that I can expect to be full and happy by the time I exit. In this case, I was very pleased with my meal. My meal in Santa Clara felt like a meal in Seoul.

This is my go-to spot when I'm really hungry and craving something I can't easily make at home. The jjamppong jjajang (쟁반짜장) never disappoints and is perfect for sharing between two people. The tangsuyuk (탕수육) is always crispy and super satisfying too. It can lean a little salty at times, but it still tastes fresh and really good overall. I did try their jjamppong a while back and didn't love it at the time, but I'm not sure how it is now. I'll definitely be back.

The food here is pretty decent. This is my first time trying black bean noodles and they gave a huge portion. I was expecting more flavor, but it was still good. We also ordered a seafood soup which was delicious and I shared it with three people. The service was fairly quick. The restaurant itself is quite cozy and clean.

This Korean chain specializing in jajangmyeon is owned by celebrity chef/entrepreneur Paik Jong-won (one of the Culinary Class Wars judges). On our first visit, we tried Jajangmyeon (Noodles with a savory Black Bean Sauce, Pork and Vegetable) and chili shrimp. The good: the noodle texture was perfection! Chewy, bouncy, and craveable with the black bean sauce. The sauce itself was not very complex. We also tried the chili shrimp. While the shrimp were cooked perfectly-plump and juicy-the sauce was overly sweet without much heat or nuance. Upon seating, each table is provided a dish of pickled veggies. On a Friday night, we had a short wait. The line got longer as the night went on. Open, casual dining area. Efficient service. Reasonable prices. The food itself is just ok, but the noodles are worth trying.

This is one of my goto spots when in town. I've been craving their noodles and could not wait to order the stir fried noodles. The sauce is just so tasty. The noodles come with pork, shrimp, squid and vegetables in them and are delish, especially when piping hot. I just slurp them right up!! There is also a vegetarian version as well. Lots of different noodles on the menu, but these are my absolute favorite. Prices are so reasonable as well and service is very prompt. Restaurant has ample seating, but can get crowded at peak hours and you may have to wait to get in. It's well worth the wait!

I came here with friends. I ordered the tangsuyuk, meat jajangmyeon, and meat jjampong. It came out within 10 minutes. I enjoyed the tangsuyuk and meat jajangmyeon the most. The sweet and sour sauce with the fried pork is heavenly. The meat jajangmyeon was sweet and tasty. Wish it had more meat though. The meat jjampong I didn't like because the soup broth had a very strong seafood taste to it. This is a great place for dates, family meals, or hangout with friends! The parking lot is small though so try to find parking before meal times or parking elsewhere. I would definitely come here today just for their meat jajangmyeon and tangsuyuk!

I wanted to try Paik's because of the show Culinary Class Wars. .We order take out via Uber Eats. Jajangmyeon is definitely spot-on in terms of flavor. The noodles are also nice and el dente. We ordered a large and it was enough to share between 3 people. Sweet and sour pork -- the pork was nice and crunchy but the meat was a bit dry. Chili Shrimp -- also deep fried with a light batter. The Chili sauce is really a sweet and sour sauce. We also tried the Jjamppong and it is filled with seafood. I love the spiciness of the broth. Jajangmyeon is definitely the tastiest item out of everything we ordered.

Been visiting Paik's and absolutely love this place since I've been introduced to it. Glad there's one in SoCal and in the Bay. It's a reliable Korean cuisine spot. It's a good price for everything, making it worth the money. The portions are so large that it's ideal for family style or left overs to save for yourself. Absolutely delicious food!! Be careful of the spicy foods. While delicious, it adds both the kick of flavor and heat.

This time, I ordered Fried egg with rice and a side of spicy soup. This rice plate was good and went well with their black sauce. The spicy soup was good too but their squid was still a bit chewy.

Arrived around 5pm on a Friday and were seated immediately. By the time we left at 5:40, there was already a wait, so timing definitely matters. Highly recommend the stir-fried jajangmyeon, mandu, and tangsuyuk. We tried the chili shrimp this time, but we'll probably stick with our usual tangsuyuk next visit. The jajangmyeon is incredibly slurpable, rich, and flavorful--true comfort food that always hits the spot. My husband and I somehow end up coming back every time a new season of Culinary Class Wars comes out, thanks to Chef Paik. Parking can be tough during peak hours, so I'd suggest coming earlier to beat the dinner rush.

The freshly made noodles and savory black bean sauce are so good. Best Jjajangmyeon in NorCal imo. For $13, it's a high quality and perfectly portioned bowl of delicious Korean noodles that hit the spot. The chili paste is actually insanely spicy so I kind of don't recommend it; it coats your mouth in chili spice, so you cant enjoy the delicious black bean sauce. Service was great: we got our orders taken down quickly, free water refills, and our check when we were done eating. Parking lot is pretty small, but there's plenty of street parking nearby.

This was my first time trying Jajangmyeon (black bean noodles), and I'm officially in love with this dish! The flavor was rich and savory I have to show this place to my fam! I'll be craving this for a long time. The Jajangmyeon: 10/10. Highly recommend if it's your first time here! No joke, it's soooooo goood!!!!! Sweet and Sour Pork (Tangsuyuk) We ordered this with the sauce on the side to keep the pork nice and crispy, and it was incredibly delicious. A must try!!! I also wanted to try Jjamppong but unfortunately, the spicy seafood noodle soup wasn't really for me and didn't hit the mark like the other dishes did. The service here is quick and fast. Even though they stay busy, the food comes out hot and the staff is efficient. Aside from the Jjamppong, everything else was phenomenal. If you want a fast, satisfying meal, definitely come here for the Jajangmyeon and the pork!

Ask the Community - Paik's Noodle

Is there a vegetarian option or substitution of meat for the jajangmyeon?

Interesting the restaurant name! Any Hong Kong foods?

No, Wai. This is the famous Paik Jong Won. This is Korean Chinese food. I mean the Jajangmyeon is the closest you can get. Try it out! Common restaurant in South Korea.

    Do they accept Apple Pay?

    Yes they do!

What do you recommend for someone's child who is a picky eater that doesn't like sauce?

The fried pork is still good without the sauce.

Do they open for dining room?

    Yes

I saw someone mention ordering via doordash in a review but I am not seeing this restaurant on doordash. What am I doing wrong? Or is this restaurant not offered on doordash?

Maybe your address is not within range of the restaurant.

    Do you have outdoor seating?

    No they do not

Are jjambbong bab (the rice) and tangsuyook (fried pork) gluten free? If not, do they have option to make it gluten free?

    No.

Do they have gluten free dishes? Are jjambbong bab and jjajangbab (the rice versions) gluten free?

Can they make dishes without pork?

    Yes they can!

Any vegan options here? Edit: I called the restaurant and they said they can make some dishes vegan…

I did ask this at the restaurant -- Vegan as in "no animal products" .. no.

Are there any gluten-free substitute for the noodles?

I don't believe they have any rice noodles but the #8 Tangsuyuk is coated in rice flour

    Are there vegetarian options available?

I have ordered their stir fried jajangmyeon vegetarian. They customized it for me.

We wandered around Grocery Outlet and Savers to pass the time. I came with a group of 6 people. We ordered the sichuan spicy fries and fried chicken cutlet to share. The fries were the spiciest item I had that day, wow! I ordered the Sichuan chicken cold noodles, extra spicy. They were not spicy at all. I left everyone at the table try them and they all agreed it was not spicy. Kind of disappointing, I expected them to be spicier than the fries at least. My partner had the chengdu zajiang noodles, mild spicy. They were good, the signature dish of the restaurant. I would return, but their spice levels are very inconsistent.

Being a broth lover, I can assess the authenticity of a ramen place by tonkotsu broth. And this place really does an excellent job in delivering a savory fatty bowl of tonkotsu ramen. I also added duck breast to mine. $6 for 4 pieces of duck breast is actually no bad of a deal, especially considering the quality of the duck breast slices. They were not super thick, but got enough bite in there for you to enjoy the texture of the duck meat. It was not overdone and did not lead to a less than desired rough sandy texture. Rather, it was possibly slightly undercooked. The skin was intact and the fattiness from duck skin just brought so much joy to every bite. I savored every bit of that in silence. We made a reservation ahead of time so we got to sit down without waiting. Our waitress was very kind and food came after ordering within reasonable waiting time. The meal came with 10 small banchan dishes for each person, all delicious. My mix tofu bowl had a piece of real snow crab in it which explains why it cost $29. The oxtail was my favorite. It wasn't very spicy and was very soft and tasty. The honey rice drink and yellow plum wine were both good. The ambience was noisy, we had to speak louder so we could hear each other. My daughter paid for the bill and I got up to go to the restroom. The bathroom was small. There are two stalls in the bathroom so there was only limited space for more than one people to stand and wash their hands in the sink. When I finished using the toilet and was about to wash my hands and to floss my teeth, the door to the other stall opened and a Korean lady and her two young daughters came out. Since I was still searching in my purse for the floss, I let one of the little girl to wash her hands first. In the meantime time the bathroom door opened and it was the waitress who served at our table. So at this time, there were five people standing together in this very tight space. Since our waitress was so nice serving us, I moved myself into the tight space between the sink and the stall so she could open the door to the stall and use the toilet. Then I heard a loud noise, 'Can you move and give my daughter more space?' I turned my face around and saw this Korean lady was waving her hand towards me while her other daughter was playing with the water in the sink. I felt so intimididated and told her that I was making room so the waitress could get inside the stall. Sensing the unfriendly attitude from the Korean lady, I snuggled away from the sink where her daughter stood. Then the Korean lady sent both her daughters away and went in to use the bathroom. I quickly washed my hands, flossed and left. I did not want to argue with her because how you can one talk sense with a rude person? What will you do if you were me? This episode spoiled the whole evening!
