N4. Pork Chop Noodles Soup N4. 豚骨排骨麵

Food I ordered here was mid. I expected more for the prices they charge for soups. I ordered pork chop noodle soup with extra veggies and extra spicy. The handmade noodles were undercooked, they had no chew to them at all. The pork chop was dry and weirdly sweet. The one thing that redeemed the dish was the extra spicy broth. Had a nice bit of numbing spice to it. Wintermelon lemonade was also pretty good. Overall, I wouldn't choose this option at the food court again.

We are big fans of the Oakridge mall food court. I have tried almost all the food stalls at the food court except for a few. Now I can cross off Duan's Kitchen off the list. We arrived for a Saturday early dinner at Duan's Kitchen. The food stall is located at the Oakridge mall in San Jose. Parking is easy and accessible in the large parking lot surrounding the mall. We ordered shrimp fried rice, popcorn chicken, shrimp dumplings and shrimp siu mai. Everything is delicious and tasted like they came from an authentic dim sum restaurant. My favorite was the popcorn chicken which was crispy and tender. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Duan's Kitchen. The staff was friendly and helpful. We don't have to just go to a dim sum restaurant to have some legit dim sum food. We can just go to the mall and straight to the food court at Oakridge for some tasty dim sum. We will definitely be back to try the other food items on the menu.

I had a craving for Taiwanese braised ground pork rice and my Yelp directions took me straight to the Oakridge Mall in San Jose. It's a place located in my the food court. The restaurant has several meal choices, with side favorites like xai long bao. The pork bento box was quite tasty, with braised ground pork, vegetables, small egg roll, kimchi, sweet steamed bread, and I also ordered the popcorn chicken as a side dish. Try it out if you're shopping at the mall!

Located in the main eatery area at Oakridge mall. We picked Duan's Kitchen since we never had and the items on the menu looked appetizing. We placed our order on the kiosk and realized there was an add on deal so we opted for that. For 2 we ordered: - Beef Meat Sauce Bento: 2.5/5 - the eggrolls were drenched in oil and soggy; the bun was okay, only had half of one; the bokchoy and kimchi were good; the meat to rice ratio was a bit sad.. we had barely any meat to even finish the rice. - Popcorn Chicken: 3.5/5 - big pieces, not bad but not great Overall, it was okay wish we didn't have to waste/toss away ~20% of the food.

Had a good time trying out this place with my mom and sister on a Wednesday evening around 6:30 pm. Not busy whatsoever that there wasn't anyone lingering around waiting for food, so I easily placed my dine in order. They have a variety of soups, bento boxes, and rice based dishes from pork, beef, or chicken. They have a bright lit signs that attract the eyes of shoppers to become diners. It took about 10 minutes for the food, so I was happy with the speed of service. We ordered a bento box, beef soup, and pork fried rice. I was very impressed by the bento box since it was only $10 but had a great variety of kimchi, bok choy, one eggroll, kimchi, 2 fried buns, and meat and rice. The kimchi was refreshing and not too strong. The fried buns were a bit hard but had great flavor from the condensed milk coating. The eggrolls weren't special, reminded me of Panda Express. The soup was underwhelming. The noodles and broth were under seasoned. Good portions but quality wasn't great. The pork fried rice could have been crispier and the rice was okay.

It's great to have authentic Taiwanese food at a mall location. Their hand made wide noodles are delicious and their dumplings are spot on as well.

We came on a busy Saturday afternoon. The whole mall is very new & we really like the original location of DCZ in Cupertino, the ordering process was super fast they had a tablet with the photos of items. We did like that there was the beef noodle soup (which honestly is probably their best dish which NO other food appt and we ended up ordering the pork chop fried rice (get this it's freshly prepared!!) compared to panda tbh this is freshly cooked and panda is just sitting under a heatlamp. The ambiance was definitely trying to be fast casual but I do think DCZ in Cupertino sit down style is stilll my fave ambiance for this food :)

Food court setting really degraded the quality of the noodle soup here. Soup wasn't flavorful. Should just stick with the restaurant version

We came about 20 mins before lunch closing and the restaurant was still super busy, which is always a good sign. Luckily we only waited a few minutes before getting seated. The space is bright and cute, and I really liked the open kitchen and the ox logo on the wall. We got to try the Firecracker Fries, Spicy Shrimp & Pork Wontons, and the Traditional Beef Noodle Soup with thick noodles. The Firecracker Fries were definitely my favorite. Crispy outside, soft inside, flavorful with a little kick, and honestly addicting. The wontons were soft and packed with filling, although sweeter than spicy to me personally. The beef noodle soup was really comforting. Broth had a nice herbal flavor, noodles were chewy, and the beef was tender. The regular size was actually huge, enough for us to share and still have leftovers to bring home. Service was fast and friendly, we literally the last table there but they really took good care of us. Overall, really great experience and now I'm already craving those Firecracker Fries again.

There was a bit of a wait and you can waitlist on their ipad inside. We waited for about 20-30 minutes.    Before getting seated they ask if you want to do the normal hot pot style or AYCE. The AYCE runs for 90 minutes and is $24.99 during lunch and $30.95 during dinner time. They also charge for leftover food which is $6 per lb. We ended up doing the normal one pot hot pot for each person.    I always get my usual lamb hot pot which already comes with vermicelli noodles and choose rice as my free side dish. There are various levels of spiciness and I chose extra spicy which is a level down from there flaming spicy from what I can recall. Honestly it was not spicy enough but I did not want to get the spiciest level in fear that it would be too oily. Perhaps I will try that the next time to see if it is.    They have a bar further in the back of the restaurant where you can get creat your sauce and get some garnishes for your hot pot. I also noticed they have some other sides like noodles and such next to it. It seems if you are not participating in AYCE you can still get sauces and garnishes but I am not sure about the other sides.    The interior has changed from the last time I came here and it looks nice! Service was standard and everyone was nice. It does feel more chaotic now that they have AYCE but that  is understandable.

People following their cooking passions in cloud kitchens can't always control a lot of the experience beyond their kitchens so it's good to remember that sometimes behind each order is an individual hustling to try to keep a dream alive to own their own place someday. Be kind when you can. I'm saying all this because while the ambiance around the San Jose Downtown Food Hall and Bento Pro isn't great, the restaurant's output is relatively good. Instead of picking up food here in person, I'll probably adjust and order delivery in the future. I dropped my coworker off and ran an errand while she went in to order at the kiosks. There is metered parking in front and we saw reviews about free parking close by but didn't search for it. It wasn't the lunch rush so the area was pretty quiet and a lot of eateries were closed. She placed orders for our group at two different eateries in the food hall and the estimated wait times for both were fast and accurate. Back at the office, I got to sample my coworker's braised chicken quarter bento. The chicken was delicious and the bento was stuffed with sides and white rice. One of the sides, a stir fry vermicelli noodle, was really salty to me but my coworker who prefers very heavily seasoned food liked it. My minced pork dry noodles was similarly very salty. It seemed like someone had done a heavy pour of a concentrated sauce but it was a flavorful salty that I could see promise in so I solved the problem by boiling up a pack of plain ramen noodles, mixing it in, and saving half for dinner. The resulting dish was much more pleasant in sodium, still flavorful with all of the toppings and sauce mixed in, and I didn't have to cook for dinner. Noodles weren't soggy by the time we made it to the office and the whole dish was warm and fresh. Some people would probably have given that experience a low score but this is a relatively new eatery. It's quick, generous in portion, has the right flavors and just needs to work out some early unevenness. Everything worked out and I'm looking forward to trying it again via delivery.

The steak was flavorful, the sauces complemented each other perfectly, and that classic sizzling presentation made the whole experience even better. I also tried the beef noodle soup. It leaned slightly on the sweeter side, but I actually really enjoyed it because the broth had so much depth and flavor. Compared to a lot of other restaurants where the soup tastes flat or bland, this one had a much richer flavor profile. Overall, the food felt comforting and nostalgic, reminding me of the Taiwanese sizzling steak houses and noodle shops I grew up visiting. I'll definitely be coming back to try more of the menu.

It was solid, with good noodles, generous amount of pork, some fish cakes, veggies, and an egg. The broth was good, but not top tier. The egg, though, was hard boiled and didn't have a soft center, which I like. That seemed like a bit of a shortcut to be honest. My wife ordered a sizzling dish and liked it - perhaps that's their speciality. Service was good, the inside was pretty typical - nothing fancy, but nothing missing either. Good overall, would come here again for convenience and because the food is solid.
