It's a pretty simple, down-to-earth place, we mostly had burgers, fries and other pub fare. Everything was good, I mean, it's burger and fries... I've been here a couple of times and it's pretty decent. Pretty standard pub, but the thing that makes this place great is the service and the atmosphere. I mean I don't care if I'm coming down from a crazy hang over, I always feel like getting at least 3 beers at this place is Dublin's. I've been to this place 3 times and gotten a burger every time. The burgers are pretty good, but I've gotten this trips amount of times because I freaking love burgers. I love Dublin - good bar, good food, fun area. Dublin is located in the middle of Viagra Triangle, great people watching. I have eaten there consistently for over 4 years. Amazing things you must try: the scallops with rice and almonds- if you like scallops and want to spend $12 then order them! Best scallop deal in the city! The salad with artichoke and romaine hearts can last you 2 meals - it is a Cheesecake Factory portion. When they offer it, get the ahi tuna salad and the clam chowder. There's a reason why this place is ALWAYS packed! Plus they're open ALL the TIME, so instead of going to nasty McD's go there for a late night bite. WAFFLE FRIES - enough said! Terrible service and terrible food. This is an "Irish bar", with bartenders dressed like its coyote ugly and a country bar, which was just odd. The service was extremely slow and Jon Taffer would have been appalled. All the food my party ordered was bar food and it came out very slow, on a slow day. They also messed up my order and the food didn't look fresh, more so like they went to a grocery store and let their meat sit past the expiration date. It's a shame, because I live close by and wanted to like this establishment. In the end, this was the first time in my life that I didn't want to pay for food or leave a tip, but I did so anyways. I'm not used to entering this place before 1:00 a.m. so I wasn't sure what to expect when I went there for dinner. We were seated right away, and even had a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. I've been a fan of their bar for years now, but had never paid any attention to their food items. I expected more of a bar menu, fries; chicken strips; burgers; that sort of thing, but they actually have grown up food! The service was good for the most part, but I have to admit that I was upset to feel rushed along. We had drinks, dinner and dessert, all in under an hour. After dessert the waitress brought us the bill and didn't offer us more drinks or anything. We got the feeling they were trying to turn over the table quickly, which was odd because no one was waiting and they had a few empty tables anyway. I would have given them another star if we hadn't been made to feel like we were taking up such valuable space. And the only reason they got two stars instead of three is because they really are awesome in a late-night setting. read more

Food is always good here. I've had the burgers before which are really good. My friend had the bison burger which was topped with a fried egg and bacon bits and cheese. He said it was very good. I had the lentil soup which was tasty but a bit on the salty side. I highly recommend the Dublin ' s salad which was chock full of vegetables like artchokes, heart of palms, tomatoes, and cheese and avocado. As a local I know the community well and sadly have to say this place has disappointed each time I've tryed to give it another chance. If you're a tourist I would avoid this place entirely due to bad management, bad food, and bad bar service. The one bartender in particular, I hope I remembered his name correctly, Matt, I believe, Rude from the beginning, I understand their is a pandemic going on and all, but totally disrespecting me was uncalled for. The assistant manager working told me his name was Luis, which I think is a lie, because after I returned to the bar and went back in and asked for him his name, he told me something entirely different. We had the most amazing salad there, it had feta cheese, grilled onions, tomatoes, and steak. The serving of steak in the salad was huge and kept me full for hours after. The salad originally came with vinaigrette but I asked for blue cheese instead and soon my friends followed suit. The salad was not your typical skinny girl meal, it was enough for anyone to get full off. Id recommend it! The crowd was pretty laid back, not your typical crowd of yuppies in that area, but still even on a Thursday it was pretty packed and yelling was needed to hear each other. This was all expected for a downtown bar and grill, but if I was looking to eat here again, I'd probably go a little earlier to avoid our table being bumped every two minutes. Racist bar. If I could give it no stars I would. I walked in went to the restroom and was told by and individual name "Mitch" that I had to leave because I caused an issue at the bar and the bartender told him that. Thing is, this was before the bartenders even seen me. So I asked Mitch, if I caused an issue, when was it. He couldn't respond. I literally have not been in Chicago for over a year and Not only do I spend a lot of money the places I go, but I have never caused an issue at any of them. I travel a LOT and have owners and bartenders that can speak to my character. So after I walk out, I call in and ask for Mitch. Apparently Mitch is not there. What??? So they transferred me to a bartender who told me to come in during the day and speak with a manager. I'm well groomed, well dressed, cause no trouble and this is literally the only bar in the entire country and outside the country that I have ever been told to leave from. I will be filing a complaint for discrimination as I have the entire thing recorded on video. A shame as I've literally spent thousands at this bar previously and have never been removed. All of a sudden I have caused issues here? They won't get another dollar from me and my lawyers will certainly persue legal action. There was no legitimate reason to have me removed. How can a bar tender say I've caused issues, when no bar tenders have yet to even see me? read more

I was here for less than 30 minutes. We were late by 20 minutes meeting our group here. Our waitress, Brooke, came over and asked us what we wanted to drink, then got upset that I asked for the menu? She gave us a menu and then came back not even a minute later asking us what we wanted...She gave us our drinks and then walked away, not bothering to ask us if we were hungry. About ten minutes later, she asked us if we were one tab or two. I also want to put out there that we were patient and kind, as we are at any restaurant/pub/bar, so I still do not understand why we were being treated poorly. I am upset because the food looked good and the atmosphere was nice, but our service was appalling. We're all 22-23 year olds and Brooke made sure to make us feel unwelcome and unwanted in this establishment. Actually a great bar, great atmosphere! My one star is for quite possibly the least friendly bartender I've ever come across. And I've seen a lot of bars:/ I believe her name was Alina. We wanted to stay but I was so put off with her attitude. She may have been having a bad night. Still, it's not hard to smile when friendly patrons sit at your bar. The only smile I saw was when she said Oops because she realized my husband was enjoying his 2nd drink while I stared hopelessly into my empty glass, waiting for my 2nd drink. We flew into town and went straight out for some drinks, Chicago style. This bar was packed on a Thursday night. It was filled with all ages. We had a great time. The drinks were cheap and stiff. They even sell late night eats. I had the pastrami sando (Reuben style) and it was delicious! I would recommend atarting here for drinks and a good ole time. read more

Only Irish thing about this place is the name. The Guinness tastes good but they haven't a clue how to pour so the head makes up a third of the glass. Waitress we had was moody and not very attentive at all so we kept having to stop her and ask her for drinks and almost felt like we were putting her out of her way. Food wasn't great either, but portion sizes were decent. So if you like a big plate of below average tasting food and half a glass of Guinness with lots of foam on top then this is the place for you. Really, it should be 4 1/2 stars! Great atmosphere & even better food!!! We had the fish & chips and the chicken vesuvio washed down with a few glasses of Smithwick's - YUMMMMMMM!!!! The fish is very lightly breaded, flaky & moist and served with fresh tasting waffle chips and mild sauces to go with each - I recommend the sauce instead of ketchup for the chips! The chicken was very tender served with roasted potatoes and a tasty wine sauce! We both had plenty of food and the price was very reasonable for right in the heart of downtown. The servers are prompt & attentive and we were never rushed to leave to free up the table at all. It's a smaller place, but well worth the wait - if there is one! I've eaten at a lot of places downtown. High end and fast food. This place isn't the best looking place or the friendliest service. They are medium. I definitely think this place deserves a overall rating of 5 stars but I'm giving them 5 stars. The only reason is, "THE FOOD" is always on point. I eat out more then I eat at home and if I'm downtown looking for a hearty meal, DUBLINS it is. I wouldn't take a date or business meeting there. But 6 stars for the food. I always get the Gold Coast seafood salad. You could taste the freshness. Or I'll get the grilled chicken tenders. Woow. If your feeling like eating junky, they have that too. Their burgers are on point. Not big on the deserts. There are better options at other places. Oh yeah, duhhhh.... The soup is to die for. Or the chili. Taste amazing. One time I had the lentil soup and that was "Fire". This is probably the longest review I've written. It shows how much I live this place. I think if they stepped up their service and had a cooler outdoor patio this place would attract more people. Sitting outside this place is probably the best spot in the city to people watch.
