Ok so my son wanted to try " Duck Donuts " and I finally went. I said I was going to wait a while before I go because I not into going inside new restaurants when they first open. I read a few comments and heard people at school always complaining that its pack and its almost a 1 hour wait. Well, the day I went was only 3 of us in there and I'm not sharing the day I went or the time I went, LOL !! This type of place isn't really new for me because I use to live in Texas and Colorado so I have already seen doughnuts shops like this. They will take orders ahead of time if u fill out the Duck Doughnut form, I picked up 2 just in case I come back, But it will not be soon. Because, My son didn't like it and I went for him not for me. I had already tasted them in another state soooo duck doughnuts has always been just ok for my taste buds, But they are still good ... but not good enough for me to say goodbye to Krispy Kreme in which will always be my family favorite doughnuts. I passed here on the way through Atlanta and wanted to try Duck Donuts, as it's a chain that I have never gotten to go to before. We got three donuts: a lemon glazed, a chocolate glazed with chocolate sprinkles, and a maple glazed with oreo crumble & caramel drizzle. The lemon glaze, though it didn't look like the one they advertised, had a strong lemon taste and felt like eating a lemon cake. The chocolate/chocolate was, as you might have guessed, very chocolaty. The Maple glazed didn't have much promintent maple flavoring, but the oreo the drizzle was more distinct, and it was still good. My only beef with this place was that the donuts tasted a bit underdone and was very doughy. Still, if you want to try making your own donuts, I would gladly suggest this place. read more

Ok. For my 777 review...it had to be this place!!! We pull up and there are people standing outside the door with the door opened. (With great reviews like this Its no wonder) People are walking out saying "hour wait" as we seen several customers leaving without donuts.... Holy donut!! Driving down the pike all I saw was DONUT and I was sold! It was crazy busy and the hubs said...it better be worth it! Well...well... It definitely was/is since I'm still eating some as I write this. They make them fresh togo. They do a simple cake donut and then add its toppings. The cake was so moist and warm. Back that up. They have a paper where you can fill it out and mark what you want. Kinda like at a sushi restaurant. (also don't have to use the paper, kinda like a guide) Then you place your order and they call out your name and show you your yummies and then you eat them all before you walk out.. The donuts lived up to the hype!!! Warm, fresh, rich vanilla cake interior with a magical combo of toppings to choose from. There's something for everyone here! I got a half dozen. My top favorites were the chocolate icing with peanut pieces and salted caramel drizzle and the lemon coconut. The one with the peanut pieces had such a great complement going on between the sweet and salty of the icing vs the peanut pieces which added about of crunch! I could have eaten 2 more of those. The lemon icing had just the right amount of tart to it- and the coconut flakes solidified the ensemble. I also had the maple icing + bacon and that was okay but it couldn't top the first two. They could really use a greeter to help navigate the start to a duck donuts adventure but once we figured out where we needed to be and what to do we were on our way. Order form in hand and place in we began to make our selections. The line moves quickly but the volume of donuts and people they're pumping out made our start to finish time 30 minutes so be prepared. I hate lines. Everyone sharing the same excitement as we were made waiting kinda fun. Your able to see all the action while waiting which also helps pass the time. We get to the counter, place the order, now we watched our donuts fall from the fryer, get boxed and head to the assembly line for glaze, topping and drizzle. Then finally presented to us for approval. We grabbed our custom, fresh, hot donuts and we're on our way. I am so happy I have finally tried this place! They sent me a $3 off a dozen doughnuts in the mail so I figured it was time to give this place a try and see if it lives up to all the hype. It does! I visited on a Saturday morning and surprisingly there was no line so I was able to order right away. With the $3 off coupon the total ended up being around $12, which isn't too bad. I had no idea which doughnuts to order because there are so many different flavors to choose from and you can customize your own. Everything sounded good so I just went with a variety of everything. The staff was very friendly and even gave me an extra doughnut for free because they had apparently put the wrong type of sprinkles on one of the doughnuts. If they hadn't mentioned it I wouldn't have even noticed or cared in the first place, but I was very nice of them to tell me and make me a fresh doughnut with the correct topping anyways. The doughnuts were so warm and fresh I had to eat more than one. Cake doughnuts aren't usually my favorite doughnuts, but these are delicious. The limitation really is the fact that they only offer a vanilla cake doughnut base. My problem is I'm a big fan of yeast type donuts not cake. I ordered the peanut butter and blueberry pancake donuts as shown in the pictures. What I received was a sad excuse for the donuts in their store pictures. Okay it's not even hard to give this place five stars. I've been here three times. There is always someone who greets you very kindly! My favorite donuts are the Vanilla Icing with Oreo Crumbles, Cinnamon Sugar with Vanilla Drizzle, Powdered Sugar, and my friends love the Maple Icing with Chopped Bacon (not a bacon fan but I'm sure they're right). I have to say I hate cake doughnuts, but love chocolate. I have not tried other topping flavors, but I usually get 2, chocolate iced doughnuts and the chocolate is of course hot when it goes on and dries, it is delicious. I am a huge fan of yeast doughnuts and with Krispy Kreme across street it is hard to make the choice to sacrifice a yeast doughnut for cake, but if you like chocolate covered doughnuts, you have to try Duck Doughnuts just once, I thought I would hate it but it is good.
