I've been eating at dudes since moving to Redding 20 years ago. I. Love. This. Place. Even after the original owner passed they have maintained the quality and taste to a tee! My kids love grabbing dinner from here and a shake to go home for movie night, and I sneak it in when they're in bed VIA Grubhub. Tonight there was a mishap on dudes Grubhub. Dudes ALWAYS gives their sauce for fries and gems, I also ask for extra within the order AND from the driver (dudes sauce is crack) my order arrives with ZERO dude sauce. Not even the expected 2 let alone extra. I didn't want to refund thru Grubhub, kinda not their fault and well Dudes pays for their service. So I called and spoke with Shannon. While my issue couldn't be resolved in this moment, she listened and understood and was over the top trying to make it right. THIS. This is one of many reason I called them. I stopped by this place, not expecting anything special, for a last minute burger. I was pleasantly surprised, when the burgers were actually loaded and flavorful. My husband and I are in love with the onion rings and fresh banana milk shakes! They awkwardly ask if you want to leave a 15% tip on your card at the window, kinda putting you on blast to say yes. Dudes used to be the place to go for a great burger and shakes, but not any more. We ordered a regular, deluxe and jumbo burgers and they were terrible. Deluxe and jumbo, that's a joke! They were flat, soggy and tasteless. Also ordered jumbo tater tots and there were 13 tots that were also soggy and a bit cold. The first shake I ever had there was cherry. The color was deep red, great flavor and it had real on the bottom, yum. But now, absolutely no cherry flavor, hint of light pink color and very few cherry pieces. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Spent over $60 and couldn't even eat 2 of the burgers. We will not be going back. read more

the last 3 times I've gone here my order has been wrong. Today I couldn't even place my order because the woman working drive thru cut me off before I could even finish saying one item I wanted. Someone else comes outside to take the order because I told the woman taking the order to just cancel my order since I couldn't even properly place it and still manages to get it wrong while giving me an attitude. I called in to get my order fixed after I got home and discovered the entire thing was wrong, only for the same woman from the drive thru to hang up on me as I was explaining what happened. Today is Sunday and the employees that work on this day are very rude. I ordered a meal for my wife and I from an employee named Mariah. She was just seriously rude. I questioned the high bill and she just said "Whatever". I asked to see the bill so she showed me the copy that the cooks get which has no prices. I said I can't see anything here. She just shrugged it off. I said "well I guess I have to take your word for it". I couldn't believe it. Any good employee would make every attempt to make sure the customer didn't think they were getting ripped off. Then when my order was ready I asked what the girls name was that over charged me and the bearded employee told me her name and then slammed the door on me. We got home and didn't even have all of our food that we ordered. This is normally a good place but these young employees that work there on Sunday left a bad taste in our mouths. I found a very long hair inside of my fries, and it was 100% from inside due to the fact that it was at the very bottom of the bag wrapped around several fries. Stopped at Dudes this morning to get gift certificates from a small local business ( supporting small and local) to hand out to essential workers I come in contact with ( as a small gesture )thank you to them. Wanted 10 , $10.00 gift certificates......they wouldn't take my debit card. So I got $40 worth because that's all the cash I had on me. SO... they lost out on $60! Seems silly! We are traveling on I-5 and was looking for a place to eat and thought we would give it a try. Super easy to order online and was ready when we got there. Big plus. My boyfriend ordered a Bacon Cheese Burger which was excellent and I ordered a grilled ham and cheese. I left some notes saying that I wanted white or sour dough bread and a side of Mayo. The ham and cheese were the perfect amount but I got a type of brown bread and no side of Mayo. I have never been a fan of wheat bread so I ate half a tossed the rest. I'm not sure if they only have one type of bread. For that reason only ...that's why I downgraded it to a four star.
