Have you ever had the problem of living near Victor, Alta mesa, shasta view, or hartnell and wanting a burger but didnt want to make the distance to a chain restaurant like McDonalds/BK? Is driving to the other side of town worth the gas? Well im here to spread the word of a hopping lil (privately owned) burger joint right on hartnell (next to Tower Mart), the address: 1644 Hartnell Ave Redding, CA 96002. If your aching a deal come on down, I noticed they offer a BUY 3 get 1 FREE on select items of course (Regular hamburger, Regular cheeseburger, small fries, large fries, Corn dog, and Burrito's ONLY). If your really hungry I recommend the : BIG DUDE!, oh yeah and add bacon (yum :) . This big boy fills your stomach with 2 patties of pure deliciousness that DUDES DRIVE IN is famous for. I personally worry of where the meat i order comes from, but not here, these dudes use R&R Quality meat! Whatever person posted about the chicken nuggets coiuldn't be more wrong, they ARE made with chicken...(not mystery meat). I will admit that the tacos are another story, (similar to Jack in the box's tacos...tofu. In all honesty they are better tasting than you think (just ask for the works :) Upon entering Dudes please don't be deterred, they are remolding (kinda slowly though) but surely. Just a few days ago i saw a worker ( i assume) repainting the words on the parking roofing. (Its sure nice to know that the employees take pride in their jobs to do something that the owner should have a looooong time ago). I hope the owner understands that in todays society people really do judge a book by its cover( i.e this restaurant) . Maybe he understands it, maybe there are people he just needs to listen to and not ignore. Business's are only as strong as it's weakest link. As for service...ehhh could be worse...but could be a lot better. The night workers get my food out on time but their habits are disgusting! Who smokes outfront of the restaurant, thats just rude. You think anyone else sitting there trying to enjoy their food outside would like to enjoy smoke...uhhh no. I have noticed a few posts about this issue and its not solved. But hey i guess that if the old guy chain smoking outside can do it then why the hell not??? But please don't be deterred, when there are still some employees that are awesome. Although their employee turnover rate is high, there have been a few people that do go that extra mile to satisfy customers... Day crew BRAVO!!! But one question arises me...Why are there no males working, why only women??? Seems unbalanced All in all come support this buisness and have yourself a treat from the fountain side. My favorite...a chocolate chip cherry shake. Theres a list of shake flavors on the wall, go ahead and mix them up into different flavors till your hearts extent. Just remember not to mix too many or the end result will be runny, like a faucet. Or try their delicious banana splits, or flavor-burst cones. But if your adventurous enough to get chocolatey, indulge in a choc/van/ or 1/2 swirl ice cream dipped in chocolate. After years of coming to this family run establishment with my two sons I have gone here for the last time today. I won't go into the details but the man who took our order could not have been any ruder to my son and I. It was obvious Covid has hurt the restaurant industry more then any other industry. My food was cold, mediocre, and I had to wait forever. My experience only got worse when I was rudely greeted by a fat, aggressive man. I asked him to speak to the manager and he said he was the manager. I asked for his name and he said Chris. Clearly whoever is running this establishment has no clue what they are doing if they are going to allow this idiot to be a manager let allow an employee.
