Truly a New York Style pizza! If you're searching for delicious New York Style pizza, more specifically, Brooklyn style then please run, don't walk, to Due Amici! I go there whenever I'm craving pizza and get a slice or two. I've also had their Caprese salad which is made fresh, in-house. So usually when I order there is a little wait for it. The service is always excellent! The staff who work up front are friendly and polite. I've never had a bad experience there. The environment is family friendly. I often see families there throughout the week but more so on the weekends. read more

The review is not for their pizza, but the shitty attitude of the staff. Their pizza is the best in the area, hence why I just drove 25 minutes for a couple slices that I couldn't even sit to eat and enjoy. Arrived at 8:20. Business claims it's open until 9:00. Ordered 4 slices total, 2 for each of us. Once they were heated, the guy behind the counter started putting them in a box. I told him we were staying, and his reply was, "No, it's got to be to go." Guess what, imbecile? Had you told me that before I ordered, I would have not ordered anything and figured out somewhere else to grab a bite. Meanwhile, there was a party of 8 with a table full of food in front of them. GUARANTEED, they still would have been there by the time we finished, had we been able to eat there. I'd heard before about the at times shitty attitude of the owner and staff, but never experienced it myself. Until tonight. And tonight, they just lost two customers. read more

I tried this restaurant a few months ago on a whim. I just got a plain cheese pizza while my husband was out of town, hoping to be able to return to it for leftovers. I took the first bite and had to force down the rest of the slice. For the first time in my life, I threw nearly an entire pizza out. I love NY style pizza, but the cheese was barely there, the sauce was sweeter than I like and the dough just wasn't good. I would not return, though, it could very well be personal preference in how I like my pizza. One other thing: the service was so transactional it was close to unfriendly. It's been a bad weekend for my keto diet and it all started with Due Amici. I had all the best intentions to stick to it but the chicken pizza they had right there called my name like a siren song and so I ended up crashing right there on the rocks. All the carbs here. Pizza, pasta, garlic knots, Italian ices, cannolis. I managed to escape with just the one amazing piece of pizza. Yep, they sell pizza by the slice here and thank goodness for that. Got two large pies. Entirely too much food for 6 mouths we were feeding, in a very good way! As older age is telling me, quality can certainly fill one up over quantity. We were told to try this Italian food place by our friends from church. We ordered two pizzas a Deluxe and Pepperoni, Garlic knots and mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks were eh.... Ok. But the rest was the best we have experienced in the greater Charlotte area! My family has been all over Charotte trying to find the best NY Style pizza and I would definitely say this is top 5!! If you've been to Lorenzoes, Sals, Bennys, they all have similar style but Due Amici has much better flavor, dough, and fresh toppings. Not super greasy, not floppy but cooked to perfection. The only thing that disappointed me was the crust which was a little harder than I like. Highly recommend this spot, especially if you're on the hunt to find the best pizza in the CLT. We will be back to try more of the speciality pies! Go support small businesses during this crazy time and pick up take out (we drove 25 min and the pizza was still delicious lukewarm!!) read more

Not too bad - my mom and I came here during our movie marathon experience and were too lazy to venture out. I ordered the Buffalo chicken pizza slice, cheese, and the spinach/broccoli veggie roll with a side of ranch. Great crust on the pizza - I liked that it wasn't soggy and could support the all of the toppings. Great flavor on the pizza, although I didn't care for the veggie roll or the ranch dressing - I was hoping it tasted similar to Showmars ranch dressing, but it didn't. I also appreciate the amount of cheese on the pizza! I would go back to get the cheese pizza and to try something new. read more

I recently rediscovered Due Amici, I went years ago and whatever I had, I didn't like and I never returned until now. They, in my opinion, are one of the best pizza spots in Charlotte.....period......the end. The pizza here is simply amazing, and it's crazy because I can't tell the difference between just ordering a slice that they heat up and ordering a whole pizza....same fresh great taste. The garlic knots with sauce.....amazing also and I sometimes just order a 3 count garlic knots and sauce only. I've been patronizing this place since it opened. I always strongly recommend to friends and family. I love the food. But the attitude of the owner (Paul), I can't take anymore. This is the B E S T pizza I've had in Charlotte, hands down. I recently moved into the area and I kept hearing good things about the pizza but, being the Northern pizza snob that I am, I refused to believe the hype. Finally, one Friday, I decided to give it a shot. I went for two slices: pepperoni & mushroom and cheese. Dare I say, it was love at first bite. It finally tasted close to slices found at home (New Jersey). Ever since, I've been going back regularly. I even find myself craving this pizza. The slices are huge and one fills me up. I save the second slice for the next day. Recently, I tried their garlic knots and wow wow wow. I could eat an entire box and feel only slightly guilty about it. Even with COVID, these guys have been efficient with orders and friendly during all of it. I suggest calling ahead but, if you're a newbie and want to see what's available, you can show and place your order in-store. They will advise you to wait outside and bring it to your car. I ate here last weekend. I ordered garlic bread, a slice of stuffed pizza & siclian pizza anth the ravioli lasagna. Garlic bread by far the best thing . Ravioli 3 and a half out of 5 . The sicilian slice the crust was so hard. It was tougher than if you bit into some almonds. The stuffed pizza was average but the outside crust around the rim was so hard it was inedible. read more

You know when you have your favorite spot... and if it's too busy you have to settle for the "just ok" pizza down the road by the run-down Chinese restaurant instead? This is that "just ok" place. But way overpriced. It's better than Dominos... but not by much. And there's those pizza places up north where the owner's a jerk... but he can be because his pies are just so good? Well... this greaseball owner's a total jerk, his pizza's 'just ok' and the bathrooms are like a 3rd world country. The owner is too busy snagging cash out of the register and stuffing it in his briefcase on the side (I'm sure he's totally claiming that too lol) rather than actually serving his customers. Just moved here from NY , 6 months ago. Best pizza I've had yet in Charlotte but still alittle suspect with the sauce. Needs more garlic and less salt. If this is what the best NY pizza is in Charlotte I can get down with that. Tip: if you order on a Friday order at least an hour ahead. I've never seen SO MANY people. First time customer. I ordered on the phone and the customer service was outstanding. The place looked very clean and organized. No seating area available due to COVID-19 issues, however they have plenty of choices to eat, drink and gelato flavors. I ordered a large pepperoni. The pizza ingredients were fresh and tasty. The crust didn't have much flavor which is a bit of a disappointment, but the sauce, cheese and pepperoni was delicious. I guess it is just a matter of preference when it comes to the dough/crust. I'll keep this short. Partner loves their buffalo chicken pizza. Loads of breaded chicken on molten blue cheese, mozz, and hot sauce. Highly consistent quality. I'm convinced that if he had a choose a single food to eat for the rest of his life it'd be this pizza. Bad day? This pizza. Celebrating something? This pizza. Don't wanna cook? This pizza. Oh and their fries are my favorite style. I don't even know what style it is, but they're banging. And their salads have the good stuff in them. The pizza here is always really good, I love the chicken parm pizza and always get it, I could eat that pizza forever. I have also tried the buffalo pizza but it's okay would recommend if you love buffalo. I would say to be careful the way you hold the slice of pizza because all the meat could just slip off.
