First timer here at Duffs. I have heard great reviews of their wings and people speak so much about them. Well the fries are great. The wings are mild, hot and really crispy as long as they are hot. Once they cool down, eh not so great. But it is a hot favourite for people because they do serve the crispiest of the wings. Liked it, will be back when I crave for Buffalo chicken wings. Delicious, perfectly cooked wings. In Buffalo, you better be good at what you do wing wise and Duff's is the go to! I stopped in for lunch on a road trip out east at the original location. Included with your wings are celery, carrots, house made blue cheese. It drives me crazy when restaurants don't include some celery so to have carrots is a bonus. And, the wings are sauced, not buttered (as the originator does, yuck) so the flavor comes through with heat. Medium is perfect for me as it has kick but doesn't go overboard. But there are 3-4 levels up if you like to singe your taste buds. The atmosphere is very basic but cozy and the service is great. read more

Normally this is my go to when I come back to the western New York area to visit. This is the location I always recommend. This time I was not as impressed. I asked for mild wings crispy and they were super crispy and not saucy at all. Pretty dry. The fries were real good though. But that's not what I came for obviously. This place Lived up to the hype! I was visiting Buffalo and a local referred me to Duff's. I got the small order of wings. The wings & drumsticks were fleshy and the buffalo sauce was spicy. The blue cheese dressing was a perfect compliment to the spiciness of the wings. The accompanying celery and carrot sticks taste as if they'd just been picked from a garden earlier that day. The location can't be missed on the corner spot, with ample parking space for diners. The place is no-frills but certainly gave me warm vibes. We got the 30 pc wings, fries, cheesesteak and Mac and Cheese. We went for mild and "medium light". We could've gone solid medium because the spice level in "light" was definitely a tease for more!!! The chicken and wings are solid and perfectly done. They didn't skimp out on carrots and celery on the side, which we appreciated. Was in Buffalo recently for a business trip and thanks to $15 Uber trips - made it a point to get Buffalo wings ... IN BUFFALO. To be honest I wanted to go to the original in town, but they were only open until 10. Duffs is open until 11. So I went with Duff's. I got there around 10:35 and thought I had to order at bar and free I realized there was a policy that I couldn't sit in - I had to change and get them on a plate (they made an exception.) The waitresses could tell I wasn't from NY and were nice and helpful. Ordered 10 medium and waited in the dining area. Kind of divey but I wouldn't say dirty. Tables were cleaned and smelled fine. Wings were awesome: CRISPY, BUTTERY, JUST ENOUGH HEAT, and came with bleu cheese ***THAT IS THE ONLY WAY TO EAT WINGS!*** I was very impressed and would put it above my hometown favorite. 8.5/10 if I'm grading. read more

Are these the best wings in Buffalo? Probably not any longer. But they definitely are still top 10. The best thing about Duffs is the consistency. They've been doing it long enough that seemingly every time we order, the wings are exactly the same as last time. Fortunately, there was only a 20 minute wait to get a table. I'm just glad I didn't have to do takeout again like at Anchor Bar. Their staff was great and moved quickly on a busy night. I've never heard of pizza logs before, but heard it was a western New York type of thing so I decided to order some and try them out. They were actually very tasty, and reminded me of Chicago's version of a pizza puff. Fried dough with cheese and pepperoni inside. Nice and cheesy and went well with the marinara sauce. For the wings we ordered their mild, hot and suicidal. We feared the hot was going to be to hot, but they were actually just perfect in the heat category. The suicidal did have to some to them, but they were still very flavorful and edible. I prefer Duffs over Anchor Bar, their wings have a little bit more meat on them, not as crispy as Anchor Bars and most importantly more saucy than them. As a proud Texan, I've never been jealous of any person who lives outside of Texas. But today I am jealous of Buffalonians that get to enjoy these wings whenever they want! The wings were absolutely delicious! The medium heat had a great spicy flavor but as a someone who's used to spicy food, they were entry level heat. We enjoyed our visit yesterday! This was our first stop on the wing trail. We ordered medium hot wings and fries! The wings were spot on, crunchy skin and the perfect heat! The fries thin and crispy, just the way we like them. Our waitress was super sweet. Food and drinks came out fast and hot! We received Duffs tshirts which we proudly wore all day. Known for their wings - they're famous apparently. I'm sorry but NO. Don't be fooled by this place or even if you see it in tv. Unless you can consume a bucket of salt with a side of buffalo sauce and wings .... I can't. I can't even recommend this. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Honestly- I can see how the flavor profile could be there but there is WAY too much salt to be even consumed. I did my best and gave it a try - 2-3 wings and almost died of thirst. I couldn't finish it and I was extremely disappointed considering it was voted the best of the best. However if someone in your group really does drag you here to try it, just stick with the jalapeño poppers and onion rings. Those are great and came with salsa (kinda diff than your usual ranch suspect). Fries are cool too - just your basic run of the mill type. But yeah maybe try asking for the bucket of salted buffalo sauce on the side so it doesn't drown your wings in sadness. Come with zero expectations. For the longest time, I've wanted to get buffalo wings in Buffalo, NY and finally that dream came true recently! Are they the best buffalo wings ever? I guess so. I mean, I love wings, but not necessarily hot ones so I'm not the best judge--I just wanted to try them. I went with the Mild level which really doesn't have any spice at all. My wife had the Medium Hots which weren't even really that hot. If you are looking for kick, I'd recommend going with Hot. I love their bleu cheese dip especially since the flavor isn't too strong. Give it a chance if you're historically a blue cheese hater. Don't worry though, they have ranch too. Get a big basket of fries since they're crispy delicious. I washed it all down with a tasty Duff's Micro Brew. They got good Canadian beers on tap as well. Service was great and the restaurant provided a great shelter from the snow outside. So, overall great experience and I had to pick up a nice Duff's t-shirt to go as well. read more

Ahhh, my first stop was coming here! I was ready. I saw the reviews and I already knew what I wanted. We got sat right away and overall the restaurant is busy. We started off with the pizza logs. Well worth it. Crispy and perfect with the marinara sauce. I got the hot wings and my husband got the medium hot wings. They give warnings everywhere stating how hot their sauces were. I eat really spicy food and I didn't think the wings were that hot. I tasted more butter than spice. The wings are drenched in sauce which I like and the wings are large and crispy. When in Buffalo you gotta try the wings! So I asked a friend what the best places to go were and without skipping a beat he said Duffs. The birthplace of the Buffalo Wing does not disappoint. Easily one of the best wing sauces I've ever had. Usually I gravitate towards the different flavors because the traditional Buffalo sauce is the same everywhere. Not here. The traditional sauce was very good. They have different pevel of spiciness. Their medium is hot, medium hot is very hot and their hot is very very hot. I got the medium hot, flavor was there but I expected spicier. Next time I'll try the hot. The look of the place is nothing special but thats what you expect from a famous wing joint. Our friend from upstate NY told us that the place for wings in Buffalo was Duff's, so we had to try it out. Now, I am no stranger to chicken wings. My friend has said that the wings in our area are subpar to those from back home, but I didn't want to believe him. Reader, he was correct. I will henceforth be forced to judge all future chicken wings through the lens of what I had the pleasure of devouring at Duff's. These wings were crispy, but not too crispy. They were saucy, but not too saucy. In each and every way, they were pinnacle of what a chicken wing could be. The blue cheese that accompanied these meaty morsels was flavorful while being not too overpowering or chunky. The servers that we dealt with were all friendly and did a great job of explaining the options that we were unfamiliar with like the Loganberry drink that my kids enjoyed. Chicken wings are a low key food that don't need a grand restaurant to enhance the experience, so the comfortable surroundings of the warm lighting and worn booths were a cherry on top of the experience. Now that I am thousands of miles from Duff's again, the grief of not being able to enjoy these wings any time soon is sinking in. However, this experience clearly demonstrates that it is better to have loved (wings) and lost than to have never loved at all. read more

After an hour we went to check and the gal called me a lair and then stated they wouldn't push tables together because they were on a wait. I have two small children that were starving. I visited Duff's on a Monday at noon and when I entered there were only two tables that were occupied. By the time I was leaving, it was basically packed. Service was okay. They checked up on us once which is reasonable since the place filled up quickly. Duff's is known for having the "best buffalo wings." However, I was a bit disappointed. I got hot buffalo wings and spicy barbecue wings. The size of the wings were pretty average and similar compared to their competitors such as Buffalo Wild Wings. There isn't much options for the flavor of wings, but there are a lot of options for the spice level. However, the wings were just not for me. The sauce was overwhelming, not the taste of it, but the amount used. It was drenched in sauce. The bottom of the bowl of wings had like a puddle of sauce. It was too much for me and made me not want to eat the wings. They give a lot of celery's and carrots. Everyone also gets a container of blue cheese. The French fries were delicious. They also offer refills on sodas and drinks that are not in pitchers. Pitcher drinks are not refillable. Tl;dr - wings are basically soaked in sauce. Fires are yummy. read more

Our waitress was friendly and was very attentive even with the lunch hour crowd. It was a little loud in the restaurant. I ordered the lunch special which included five wings and fries. Our fries were brought to us about five minutes before our wings arrived. I did not taste any seasoning on the fries. After adding some salt they were better. The wings were served with carrots, celery, and dressing. The wings were good but a couple of them were cooked a little too long and were a little hard in some areas. The carrots were also good. I did not care for the dressing or the celery. I was happy with the portion sizes that were provided. The wings can be ordered with a variety of different sauces from spicy to a little kick. Duff's is probably recommendend by everyone in Buffalo for the quality of their wings. Here is my takeaway. Their wings are very crispy and very fresh. They are evenly cooked and the sauces are coated very nicely. At no point the wings feel like too oily or dry. The problem with Duff's is the choices of sauces don't provide a lot of variation. The hot sauce is more sour and less hot and the barbecue is too sweet for me. I tend to binge eat wings, and so I may not prefer Duff's if I am thinking of eating 10-15 wings in one go. read more
