My partner and I took a chance on this place trying support local places, however, they did not support us and left me thinking McDonalds would have been a better option. First when we pulled up we were greeted with glares from the locals when we got out of our car. Sadly, this continued throughout our entire stay at Duffy's by other guests in the restaurant. Second, we ordered food and had it delivered on separate plates. A large plate for two eggs, a large plate for hash-browns and then 6-8 min after our meal was over, a large plate for our biscuits. I thought at first this is how the diner operated, however, EVERYONE else at the bar had their food brought out at once and on one plate. Staff was pleasant enough and always had coffee, however, clearly forgot to put in part of our order when it was delivered by another waitstaff (Which didn't happen to any other costumer). I would not recommend this place and as I said earlier, go to McDonalds over Duffy's. This way you get your food all at once without the side of judgment. read more

Duffys Diner, is a new restaurant in Bradford. It is owned by the same people who own Caseys in Plaistow, and the food is just as good! I got the steak tip and eggs breakfast which are always a great deal for 11$. They had homemade shredded hasbrown on special which which were excellent which I got as the side with my meal. The head cook Ricky said they were selling so well that he was considering having them as a permenat option, especially since so few other restaurants serve them. My friend got the Irish Benedict for 8$ which is an english muffin with the handcut cornbeef hash, (not out of the can like other places) poached eggs and homemade hollandaise sauce and the standard homefries. If you havent noticed Homemade is a pattern at Duffys. Waitress was pleasent and quick to refill the coffee, which was fresh and hot. Great Food for a Great Price. read more

I hate to do this because I don't want people to know about it but I really love Duffy's Diner. I come here at least every other weekend and the food is always great! We usually sit at the bar and the service is always top notch. Good omelets, good hash, pancakes, everything. Price is not bad either. Much cheaper than Shawsheen Luncheonette in Andover (half mile from my house) so we drive up to Bradford and it's worth it. read more

Spur of the moment stop in for breakfast. We went in 1/2 hour before closing (something I never do). They were happy, kind and attentive. The food was quick and delicious. The prices seemed reasonable to me. We sat at the counter and loved everything. This place (way)back in the day was Ralph's a little Italian place that was the go to for all our family dinners when I was young. It has great sentimental attachment for me. Come here every sunday for about a year now with my wife and son. Great time, always seated in reasonable time even though its very busy. Food is delicious, and the most important critic my son loves it. Every sunday he wakes up yelling "Duffy's!!!" at me. Staff is great. The 2 twin boys are some of the most polite people ive met to date. Always making sure the food and service is great, always smiling, and making you feel at home. All the servers are great aswell. 1st experience was great...second was horrible. Waited 40 minutes for food...one adult and 2 children. Others came in 20 minutes after us and received their food within 10 minutes while we sat waiting. Finally had to go up to the front and tell them situation. They came back saying it would be a few more minutes. No apologies from management, they actually seemed annoyed that I involved them. The only positive is that we weren't charged for the meal. The food was thrown together and not what we received at our first visit. Sign on front door, cook wanted....wonder why? Sorry not going back again. If management apologized it would have made all the difference....but the waitress had to ask them to comp us the meal. read more

Awful. And too bad cuz I wanted to like it, being a new local spot. I ordered a cup of tea with milk. The milk looked separated in the serving container. Skim milk has no fat so there shouldn't be any separation. I put a spoon into it and it was thick and spoiled. Disgusting. Didn't get much better after that. My omelet was very thin, not at all fluffy. There was cheese only in the center. The home fries were saturated in grease and tasted just plain bad. The waitress saw that my food was uneaten and just shrugged and said oh, sorry. Didn't even need to ask, she knew. When I mentioned the milk and that she might not want to serve it to anyone she agreed that it didn't look right. A few minutes later she came back and said she checked the milk in the kitchen and it was spoiled. So much for quality control in the kitchen. Skip this place, it was just awful. read more

Wow! The best homemade corn beef hash in Haverhill! Dare I now say in Merrimack Valley? And they have grits??!!! And they have been open for only a few months!!!! Duffy's is a breakfast winner for Merrimack Valley and will be perennial favorites for many for years to come. The owners Laura and her husband used to own Primo Pasta in Plaistow years ago when Primo had the bread and bean board that underscored the great food they served there before they sold Primo and moved on. And Duffy's prices are very reasonable. Right now I am salivating as I write with visions of the extra crispy corn beef hash that I will order again at my next visit. At each of my three visits over the past two weeks, Duffy's has always had very imaginative and tasty sounding specials. We liked it so much we went 4 straight days even bringing a family member who had never eaten there. My favorite was the Irish eggs Benedict with corned beef hash. We stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning at 10ish. We waited about 5 minutes to be seated. I had an omelet with cheese, tomatoes, mushrooms and peppers with a hashbrown patty and white toast. It was yummy, but I was surprised that it only came with one patty as opposed to the two most other places serve. They also offer home fries for no additional cost or shredded hashbrowns for an upcharge of $0.75. My husband got them, and they were better than average. He also had the Irish eggs benny, which he enjoyed. The "waiting area" was a huge room with couches leftover from a previous incarnation of the restaurant and a bunch of random furniture and construction materials. I think they should either convert is to tables or shut the door because it wasn't very attractive or comfortable. We'll definitely go back. read more

Went here with my boyfriend, who is a Muslim. This restaurant does not advertise any halaal or kosher options, which is fine, not really expected of small restaurants. my boyfriend ordered a plate with three eggs with a choice of meat and a side. the waitress never asked for his choice of meat, so i said nothing, assuming i misread the menu and it didnt include the meat. the next thing we know, she brings out my boyfriends plate with all 3 types of meat: ham, bacon and sausage. ALL pork. for my muslim/halaal boyfriend. obviously he cannot even eat the food touching the meat, as it is a religious belief. the waitress stands in silence, while we silently hint for her to go to the kitchen and have the situation handled by providing a new plate with no meat. she did NO such thing. the waitress actually insisted he eat it, saying 'its good' what the fuck? he's MUSLIM, its not whether or not he likes it, it is a DIETARY restriction. this restaurant did nothing to rectify the issue, and we resolved it ourselves in front of the waitress by switching plates. left early, no tip. well deserved by this uninformed and intolerant establishment. i will never return read more

Third time there, and we walked out. The first time everything was fine. The 2nd time it was a disaster; the waiter was one of the worst we have ever had, the orders were messed up, and most of the food was late. Today we figured we would try one more time. The hostess refused to give us a different waiter than our last time. We tried another table in the lounge and the woman from there didn't want to clean our table and serve us. Live about a mile down the road and wanted to see what was drawing capacity crowds in the lot for weekends. Dropped in for breakfast Easter Sunday morning. Had the western omelet, buttermilk pancakes, home fries, rye toast, coffee. would have liked a small dish with extra tabs of butter. Maple syrup, thin and watery. To get to the quick, no big deal. Liked the booths which offer decent privacy. My wife's order came out wrong but we didn't argue. Service; initially I thought it would be great and attentive. The longer into the meal, the less attentive it got. Waitress was socializing too long with a family party and other wait staff. Couldn't get her attention. I am the type who is just so patient. Don't have to get the check immediately after my meal but within ten minutes,Had to tell other wait staff to get her attention. This is something I have experienced in many restaurants over the years, though. The conventional Bickfords and Ihop Pancake Houses with their variety and quality have been hands down a better dining experience for breakfast. I can't comment on the lunch fare here. P.S., an occasional "glance" over to your seated customers, even from a distance, would be very useful. read more

Place is deceiving! We were sested and given coffee mugs with crusted food and stains that i could wipe off with my finger. I thought it was an honest screw up until i looked at the cup my orange juice came in and old food was crusted on it also and the cups were very used and cloudy. So we order our food and i get 2 sides of pure maple syrup priced at .99 cents each. Halfway thru my meal i find a hair in my food which to me is a clear sign of negligence in the kitchen and filthy kitchen personnel. Then we get the bill and i always check to make sure im not getting phantom charges because i wotk hard and value my money and risk my life daily to earn it and i see i was charged $2.00 each gor the 2 pure maple syrup sides i ordered. I point it out to the waitress and her response was "oh yea they raised the price on the pire maple, the menus just havent been updated yet" i told her thats not my problem and she just stood there like she was lost. My girlfriend just handed her her credit card cuz she knew i was about to go off and the waitress took it bolted off and charged the bill. Needless to say, if you want to have your meal and drinks with the added flavor of the last customers food coming off your dirty cup and dish this is the place for you!
